Very hard to judge Chelsea since the standard has been set that we ignore their bad patches and focus on when they play well amd what could have been
This!Very hard to judge Chelsea since the standard has been set that we ignore their bad patches and focus on when they play well amd what could have been
It isn’t.This is being overstated.
They need to sort out finishing and defending counters but they have enough quality to challenge for 4th place.
Ignore their bad patches? What posts have you been reading!Very hard to judge Chelsea since the standard has been set that we ignore their bad patches and focus on when they play well amd what could have been
I think United fans started this trend with all those "dominant" Old Trafford draws in 16/17.Very hard to judge Chelsea since the standard has been set that we ignore their bad patches and focus on when they play well amd what could have been
When you are in transition and starting a new process then it becomes almost as much looking for the signs going forward as it does results in the initial period. In Poch's first season i recall you lot being relatively content with the performance of your team at Stamford Bridge despite losing 3-0. Klopp's first season another, despite statistically it being Pool's worst season for half a century fans were quite upbeat. This!
Never seen so much praise for a manager getting his team to play good football after a 4-0 defeat in my life. If you lose by that scoreline you've played completely fecking ineffective football.
Outplayed at home for over a half by Leicester too. Any team plays good football in stages, they have some good footballers at the club.
Pukki is on fire!Norwich up next which you'd expect them to beat.
I think some Chelsea fans are relying on that 4-0 not being a true representation of how the game went. This!

Its a loss if Lamps shows up with a 4-2-3-1 formationNorwich up next which you'd expect them to beat.
It looked more like a 433 today with Mason playing more LCM instead of CAM for the most part. Its a loss if Lamps shows up with a 4-2-3-1 formation
I don't remember being happy with that game at all. And full stop I'm not happy with the side if we lose 3 or 4 nil. When you are in transition and starting a new process then it becomes almost as much looking for the signs going forward as it does results in the initial period. Maybe not you specifically but i saw a lot of "we were all over you until Drogba scored" on other forums.I don't remember being happy with that game at all. And full stop I'm not happy with the side if we lose 3 or 4 nil.
I'm for giving managers patience to show what they can do, but I'm not seeing anything special about this Chelsea team's football. I thought you were impressive against Liverpool but other than stages vs Leicester/United I thought you were pretty dire in both games.
Chelsea were by far the better team today, albeit in a very low quality match.
More of a dig towards our fan base from last week tbh.Ignore their bad patches? What posts have you been reading!
Our fans will lambast our own youth players after crying for them to play for 2 months.I'm all for taking banter on the chin but i find it quite tough to accept how the media/oppo fans have gone after our two young players after slating us for years for not giving young players chances.
Fortunately Mount done enough vs Liverpool and Leicester to get them off his back but Tammy hasn't been so lucky.
Does that mean you also disagree with OGS playing Rashford and McTominay over proven winners Mata and Matic"?That’s what you get for playing youth over proven winners. Lampard is a joke. You can tell he has 3 games experience at the highest level
Who are the proven winners he isn't playing? That’s what you get for playing youth over proven winners. Lampard is a joke. You can tell he has 3 games experience at the highest level
Maybe he means Alonso? Can't think of anyone who remotely fits as a "proven winner" that didn't start today.Who are the proven winners he isn't playing?
Agreed. If Emerson starts delivering end product consistently I think you might have a gem.Maybe he means Alonso? Can't think of anyone who remotely fits as a "proven winner" that didn't start today.
I personally think Emerson and Mount have been two of our best players so far.
They play for half a game. That’s not how you win. Some of the football they have played has been top notch. I'm pretty sure they will turn it around after a run of easy games. They need a top CF and they are a solid side.
You being serious??Does that mean you also disagree with OGS playing Rashford and McTominay over proven winners Mata and Matic"?
Honesty think the smaller sides will cause them bigger problems. They seem to be bullied easy when their tempo drops and physicality is all those teams have. Some of the football they have played has been top notch. Maybe Willian?Maybe he means Alonso? Can't think of anyone who remotely fits as a "proven winner" that didn't start today.

I'm going by LVGway's logic, he seems adamant Lampard is an idiot for picking youngsters over "proven winners" so I'm curious as to whether he will hold Ole on the same standards or change the goalposts. You being serious??

I disagree, i think we will drop very few points against bottom 11 sides, it's the top 9 that will cause us issues in head to heads.Honesty think the smaller sides will cause them bigger problems. They seem to be bullied easy when their tempo drops and physicality is all those teams have.
Pukki will teach your pitiful forwards what finishing is next week.I disagree, i think we will drop very few points against bottom 11 sides, it's the top 9 that will cause us issues in head to heads.
It is a dumb argument considering we're screaming out for Tuanzebe, Greenwood, Gomes and Chong to get more game time but when our "proven winners" are Matic, Mata, Jones, Young and Smalling it's not surprising really.I'm going by LVGway's logic, he seems adamant Lampard is an idiot for picking youngsters over "proven winners" so I'm curious as to whether he will hold Ole on the same standards or change the goalposts.
The myth of Kante playing the holding role should be dead by now.Lampard has been very naive in these three matches. Surely when you are on the cosh, you have to slow down the game by just passing it around or something and allow your team to settle and take a breather. All these three games, even when they are struggling in the game, they just try to directly go for the attack and lose the ball with no chance for their team to settle. And many of those, they have been so easily cut open with a counter.
And also it seems Lampard is making similar sort of mistake that Sarri made with not playing Kante as that anchor in the midfield. Its almost as if Lampard and previously Sarri were trying to prove Kante can do more than just defend and play the DM role. We all know he can do that, but he's best when he is mopping up when he's in front of the defense. Today Kante was all over the park in attacking positions whereas Jorginho was the holding midfielder. I don't think Jorginho has the energy to do that role esp when they are under pressure. They would surely benefit more with Kante playing behind Jorginho instead of ahead of him.
Now i'm more confident, usually when Spurs fans predict doom on us the total opposite happens.Pukki will teach your pitiful forwards what finishing is next week.
Kante's only played as a sitter 6 times for us and it went so well Conte overhauled the entire system.Lampard has been very naive in these three matches. Of course, he has never been the traditional Makelele DM type. But he has to be the one behind the ball when Chelsea lose the ball and teams are countering instead of just Jorginho.Kante's only played as a sitter 6 times for us and it went so well Conte overhauled the entire system.
