I'm really liking Ole's comments especially those dismissing our run-in as easy. Hopefully, we are as focused on the pitch as well.

Said he's making changes. He might regret it.

One or two is fine. I don’t think, say, Williams for Shaw and Fred/McT for Matic would affect us too negatively. We could probably even get away with Mata on the right and/or Ighalo up front.

I think what you’re saying, and I think it’s very clear now, is that our spine - Maguire, Wan Bissaka, Pogba, Fernandes, Rashford (and possibly Martial) cannot be dropped and should only be rested when games are won early, like the last game.

Confident, expectant but humble. Exactly the attitude we like to see from the Manager.

I dont think he makes any changes unless he have to. Some of the players might need a rest. Ther is still many games to come.

He seemed to hint that he might make a couple of changes. Could see him giving one of the midfielders a rest.

I think it'll be Bruno for Fred, with Pogba playing ahead of the two in CM.
Personally think Pogba is the one who needs the rest. He's much bigger and heavier.

Fernandes is skinny and runs like a madman, he will be fine for another 60/70 minutes no problem.

Like the back to back games on the 13th(Southampton H) and 15th(Palace A). That is when we're most likely going to see changes. Until then we have Saturday - Thursday - Monday matches.
Plus we play the FA Cup semi on the 19th. My guess is players will be rested against Palace away.

Agreed. Williams for Shaw is also a possibility. Hopefully not too much else and we can kill the game early and bring he others on to rest the likes of Tony, Rash and Pogba.

I tend to agree though not for those reasons

Pogba has been out for a long time and even if he is desperate to play as i imagine he is, he might need to take it a bit easy to let his body adapt.

While it sounds a silly reason Pogba has always been a little heavy on cardio just due to his size.

He did looked a little puffed towards the 60th against Brighton. Scott/Fred should be enough to beat the Bournemouth midfield.

Great answer and timely reminder to some that might be getting ahead of themselves. One game at a time lads.

Bruno came off at 60 last game. Doubt he'd have done that if he planned to rest him for this game. I'd imagine Scott or Fred will come in for Pogba.

We don't need need Scott in a game like this. Especially if we are already starting Matic. It should be Fred that comes in if Pogba is benched.

It's not that silly i understand, big lads with a lot of muscle mass can have a bit more trouble with endurance then skinnier lads. In the case of Pogba i think it's much more to do with how few games he had this year. He is a supreme athlete and let's be honest, with Bruno in the team, he doesn't have to be everywhere and do everything all the time.

I think this should be the team tomorrow.

Ighalo
Martial Bruno. Mata
Fred Pogba
Williams. Maguire. Lindelof. AWB

I’ve opted for martial on the left to rest rashford. Martial is also better in tight spaces and beating his man on the left than Rashford. Let rashford come on against tired legs if he needs too. Mata also works well with ighalo and greenwood needs to be tested after all that running on Tuesday. Matic should also be rested given he played the full 90 last game.

Crazy to think where we could be if we bought Bruno in the summer.
Yes a clueless Woodward left Ole waiting longer for Bruno than he should. He's not everyone's favourite but a fit Pogba all season would have made a huge difference also.

Indeed - I'd personally start them if he's fit and has no knocks and just try to win the match early then sub like brighton.

If he's got some pain don't take the risk.

Where the grass is greener.
We don't play again till Thursday, I'd be baffled if we made changes in the key areas, it would be a strange decision and I doubt it'll happen.

He posts on the Cafe for sure, has he mentioned if it’s in our hands or not?

I hope we name the same line up. Wrap up the game and then make changes. Every player in the first XI, even one with a like to like replacement, seems indispensable at the moment. I would definitely not disrupt the midfield trio.

Feel bad for Tuanzebe. Injuries are ruining his career.
Yeh. CB could be sorted for years if he stays healthy. Looked really good at Villa, like a supercharged Baily.

Ole just mentioned that they are good in set plays. He's not wrong, Billing, Solanke, Ake & Cook are good in the air. Since Matic played full 90 minutes last game, I can see him being rested and Scott will play instead of Fred due to the height. Unless if Ole thinks Maguire & Pogba alone are enough to handle those players during set pieces.

Don't see this game as a issue in the slightest.

It's the away games at Villa and Palace that he'll be planning for as teams who could cause us problems.
