Local rivals and all that jazz
No, but to be frank, you’d rather play another jazz next season (i.e. Europa League one). Would be even better for Sheffield, and quite an achievement I would have thought :)

Any Brentford fans here among Caf contingent, maybe?
Not a fan but have a big soft spot for them. Their owner Matthew Benham founded one of the biggest betting syndicates in the world and revolutionised performance analytics and 'big data' in football (he was a big force behind xG becoming mainstream for example) which Brentford have used to great effect and consistently fininished top half/third of the Championship while operating on one of the smallest budgets. Their player recruitement is far superior to almost anyone.

Do hope Brentford pip West Brom to the automatic place, don't trust them in the playoffs and they play some lovely stuff (which doesn't always translate well to the PL but fun regardless).

This isn't the West Brom of a few years ago though, they do have some good technicians now - Pereira is a wonderful little player. Forrest back would be fun. A small part of me wants to see the chaos Milwall shithousing their way back to the PL would cause.

Leeds, Brentford & Forest would be fun.

Sick to death of West Brom, and Fulham & Cardiff have done nothing in their recent stints.

I just checked - Brentford have never played in EPL. 20 years ago they were in Third division

They’ve definitely never played in the PL. have they ever even played in England’s top tier? Apparently they play good football so I hope they come up. I could do without seeing West Brom for a while.

Oh wow. Have been rooting for Brentford to make it up this season after I've read an article about how they run their club. Didn't think they'd make it, but there's a chance now. Hoping for Nottingham as the third one.

Under soil heating.
95 wasn't it? That game was at Old Trafford as well?
It was that season but was December 94. They also drew to us 1-1 in the August before and Collymore scored the equaliser aswell on his debut. I remember it because I think it was the first Monday Night game I ever watched.

I hope Brentford go up automatically and I'd like to see Fulham go up via the playoffs. I'm happy Leeds are up. the football they play is pretty good to watch. I think they'll be a handful for many teams next season on the proviso Bielsa stays and they a bit of quality to what they've got.

Really want Brentford to get automatic promotion. Theyve never been in the top division before have they?

If they win, it will have the double bonus of keeping Stoke near relegation.

Better from Brentford in the 2nd half. 4 points is enough for them in the last two games so getting a draw here would probably be good enough as they face Barnsley at home next.

Wigan doing a good job at the moment escaping relegation assuming they'll get a 12 point deduction.

If Wigan are 12+ points a head of relegation do they start next season on -12?

This was 2 weeks ago
Wigan Athletic have gone into administration, becoming the first English professional club to do so since the coronavirus pandemic began.

The English Football League has said Wigan will be deducted 12 points.

The sanction will be applied at the end of this season if the Latics, 14th in the Championship, finish outside the bottom three after 46 games.

Should Wigan finish in the relegation zone, the penalty will be applied during the 2020-21 season instead.

Amazing what pressure can do in sport sometimes. Brentford looked amazing since restart, now they just need a draw and can barely get a shot on target.

Slipping through their grasp.
