oh but he is involved with uncle jorge don’t worry about that
If they don't lower their supposed high asking price then we probably won't go out of our way for him.

They will lower it as the window goes on, Porto are absolutely desperate for money
We are also being linked with Rayan Aït-Nouri from Angers, could he be the other one for you?

Mendes is an adviser on the transfer, so even when he isn’t the agent he still gets a cut

Jamie Jackson tends to be a bit more speculative, so I wouldn't take his word as is. However, if we go by what he's saying, then it seems that Telles is also putting Porto under pressure to let him leave in this transfer window, which is a good sign for us.

We're not only running out of options for a right winger.. we're also running out of options for a left back.. Alex Telles... Nicolas Tagliafico... Fode Ballo-Toure... Vitaliy Mykolenko... :annoyed:

A bit more speculative information for the muppets in here:
  • Telles already has a deal with an unnamed club (probably not us) to leave on a free next summer.
  • Porto can't afford to pay the wages that Telles is demanding
  • Porto, however, don't want to lose him for free, so they're fine with selling him.
  • An interesting buying club is putting pressure on Porto to sell him in this transfer window.

Must really desperately want the move then if he's willing to wait out our haggling

Expecting this to come down to deadline day and we get him in for slightly less than their 25m asking price.

Doubt it'll be around the 12m we reportedly value him at

This would also add some credence to Bouhafsi's Tweet earlier that we've agreed terms with Telles.

If we only think he’s worth 12m then what the feck are we doing signing him?

There's only one United!
Alex Telles believes FC Porto's asking price to #mufc of around £18.3m for his transfer is unrealistic.

Is it 18.3 Million now?

We're seemingly trying to save as much as we can in regards to other purchases.

Ideally I'd hope that it'd be due to funds already being in place for another major transfer but realistically after the covid money loss news, it's probably due to the self styled 'biggest club in the world' not having a whole lot of money to spend at the moment

The player's also putting pressure on Porto to lower the fee. Porto don't want to lose him for free, so we're hoping to save some money by driving his price down. I doubt that it'd go all the way down to 12 million, but we seem to be using that as a starting point.

I think Woodward must be traumatised by everyone claiming he's always getting rinsed in the market and has gone hardcore cheapskate mode in his negotiations this summer to compensate. Just get it done.

If Porto are faced with taking 12m-15m on deadline day or nothing then in this environment there’s no way they’re taking nothing. Not sure why everyone is moaning.
Good tactic until PSG come in and offer the asking price.

Here we go..
Ridiculous that we’re haggling so much. Wonder if it’s a PR thing — if we manage to get Telles for £12m you better believe we’ll get the club to push Luckhurst, Ducker et al. to tweet how contrary to all the doom and gloom, we know how to bargain deals.

Urgh, another Wolves fan.
calm your tits, I come in peace, I know there’s a lot of wolves lately but I can assure you I’ve been a fan of us since the late 80s, I also have a lot of time for United and in particular Sir Alex who is one of my sporting heroes

Honestly if we somehow manage to get him in for less than we paid for Daniel James then that 100% would be an objective success

I figure it'll be closer to 20m though realistically

Settle at about 15m and move on. If we can get Telles and VDB for 55m, then it’s excellent business

Then he can go there then if he wants to. It’s a backup LB. We aren’t paying 20m plus on a near 28 year old backup who has one year on his contract when his club are desperate for cash. Everyone needs to calm the feck down.
If our first choices injury history along with the performance against Palace is anything to go on, he likely wouldn't be a backup for long

Just watching my home town team Lincoln v Scouserpudlians. Why on earth could we not identify their full back Tzimkas from Okympiakos. Looks like he can cross a ball.

fecking

Why are we taking it to such extremes. I get not being percieved to be a club that gets fleeced..but this is really making a point.

He is actually going to cost less than that greek bloke that the dippers bought? If we pull this off it would be like paying for chilwells left leg.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.

Well I think he will as I rate Shaw but that’s irrelevant. The point is if we lose out we can move onto another left back. There was mass hysteria when we missed out on Reguilon, then that calmed down once we were linked with Telles and the cycle will repeat. We’ll sign a left back - possibly even this guy for a good fee. It will improve the squad but it isn’t going to shoot us up the table. I’m more worried about RW and CB to be honest.

Given the accounts I've read in recent times, apparently we don't give all that much credence to the opinion of our scouts when it comes to recruitment.

If we did we would've likely already long been in for or had a top 3 LB in the world before Bayern snatched him up for cheap.

If we got him and Sancho to add to VdB, I'd be much more optimistic about his arrival but a backup LB and a decent midfielder is not going to do much of anything for us unfortunately.
