It's got nothing to do with if the training is 'good'. It's just a different approach. It's no secret that Barca both in training and on the pitch rely more on domination with the ball than constant high intensity, a lot of their ageing players, who are funnily enough, still their best players, are a result of that. You then have someone like Dembele who has a very explosive style. When you aren't regularly engaging in that kind of activity, it will lead to an increased chances of muscular injuries as you'd be putting your body through more shock than what you are accustomed to. Dortmund played a very high intensity style as a comparison, which would have been reflected in their training and you saw both how well he played there and how little he was out.

It may well be his fault, due to lifestyle etc. but it just seems too big of a coincidence for me. Barca seem to be more a dark hole for talent than we are these days, everyone there seems to be shite and has difficulty fitting in. Even if it was down to him or bad luck etc. You've seen players with a point to prove turn around in the past, especially as they've matured. Robben is a prime example of this.

It'd be a huge risk obviously, which is why I wouldn't agree with us paying a huge fee for him, but if he was available on loan, maybe with an option to buy, I wouldn't be shocked to see him completely surprise a lot of people. I'm not so sure Barca would be completely against that either. They are in desperate need of reinforcements but are strapped for cash, getting some of his wages off the books would be interesting for them. His talent is in the top tier, he's one of those kids who are just natural ballers. Whether or not he brings it all together, is another question though.
A mere loan of just 2/3m with just a season`s wages off their books doesn`t help them to such a HUUUUUUGE extent and I doubt they`re that desperate to get rid of him like with Suarez like you said he`s still young and talented it would take a lot more than an ordinary season long loan to convince them to sell especially since Koeman publicly said he`s in his plans

Barcelona need to raise €100m before window closes. Been mentioned by multiple journalists. The only way Dembele gets loaned out (bear in mind he doesn't want to leave) is if the loaning club have an obligation to buy at €100mil. That way Barcelona can add that €100mil to the books and resolve that financial issue.

No way Utd gonna agree to that and Dembele doesnt want to leave. We dont want another Di Maria situation on our hands. So i dont think this will happen.

Don’t you think that anymore?
I would say so.
He has also talked about wage structure so I do not see how Cavani would fit into that either.
I really do not believe any of this garbage until deals are done anyway as everyone has their own interests and a lot of those involve dragging our name into the conversation but surely our fans should be aware of this.

People are talking about DVB signing was panic buy. Well, it wasn't because we need him and he meets the criteria but this one is what I call panic buy.

Yes we need a winger but we are so in panic mode that we are considering a player who has poor attitude, late in training due to playing games, bad injury record and likely might not commit for us as his dream to play for Barcelona and now that dream club of his want to get rid of him. If he's not motivated enough playing for his dream club, imagine how motivated he is playing for us. The board probably think Dembele's talent & quality can satisfy the fan's disappointment of Sancho. But this could end up with Di Maria or Sanchez all over again where big name player isn't motivated to play for us.

The positive thing is that at least we only want this deal to be a loan deal means there is less risk and worth a gamble if we are looking for to improve our depth squad.

Exactly this...^^
He was out with 4 injuries last season and 3 injuries the season before.
We shouldn't touch him with a barge pole and I pray that United are not dumb enough to be tempted....

An obligation that's triggered by 40 plus appearances is the only reasonable loan option. Barcelona will want a guarantee and we will not want to spend so much on a crock.

Why do we still have people going on about his attitude/ profesionalism then in the same breath mention getting Sancho? Both have been late for training, Sancho was benched/left out the team due to perceived lack of professionalism.

The thing with Dembele is when he’s fit and inform arguably he’s just as good as Sancho which makes him the only real viable replacement.

Its a massive risk if any of it is true given his injury record, but 55mil is quite tempting considering if he comes good he’s an easy 100mil player. A loan however would be a much better and safer option if it’s true we are interested.

Sancho and Dembele is An absolute pipe dream. No way I can see that happening.

If being late in training is the only thing about attitude im sure it's nothing but is it the only thing though? The guy is 23 already not 20 or 19 or 18.

If we do get Dembele on loan, there’s absolutely no way he’d sign permanently. After seeing how our club is run, he’ll be heading straight back to Barca!

Nah, he'll see that he can have the time of his life over here, get injured all the time and keep getting rewarded with improved contracts. He'd love it here.

His career trajectory could easily turn out like Robben. Robben was also injury prone and raw talent but then he had breakout season at Bayern. But I am still not sure whether it will be smart to sign him on permanent basis. Loan would be fine.

7 injuries since the beginning of 2019, and all seem to be either hamstring or torn muscle....too much of a risk if you ask me, red flags waving wildly.

Robben was always a consummate professional though. Dembele is a far cry from that.

let's stay far, far away please.

We have walked away from Sancho haven't we!
I'm guessing Dembele is our Plan B should the Sancho bid fail. It makes sense to have an alternative and to apply some pressure to Dortmund. Wouldn't be surprised if Dembele passes on us and we move to Plan C

Yes I would prefer Sancho out of the two, however if it was a loan deal don't see the harm and not going to just write him off
