Good result and for the most part a good performance. We were inviting pressure needlessly at the end there, so I had that awful feeling we were about to throw it away.

Bailly and Pogba were brilliant. I was torn on my verdict for MotM until the end when Pogba decided to try a cross rather than waste time and Bailly threw himself in front of a shot. That swung it in favour of Bailly for me.

Thought Shaw was immense. Surprised he isn't getting more of a look in for MotM.

Outstanding game of football with both teams going toe to toe. Bailly was outstanding for us at the back. If we can keep him fit we’ve got a great centre half!
We’re in a title race! Let’s enjoy it considering we were 30 points behind at the end of last season

Villa are a good team, so any win is good enough in this busy period. We need to be more ruthless in finishing though. Rashford was off his game except few sparks, we should have brought Greenwood on at some stage in 2nd half.

Delighted with that. Great game in general, but to get three points after a good performance against a difficult opponent is brilliant. Pogba and Bailly were class.

2021 is off to a fantastic start.

Another massive win. After bombing out the Champions League we’ve won 4 drawn 2 over Christmas in the league and beat Everton away in the Cup. Brilliant form.

2 massive moments of stupidity from AWB (cost us a goal) and Pogba (almost cost us the win) but overall a good performance against a very good Villa. We could have killed it off sooner to be honest so good to see us shaking off the home curse now.
So losing the ball at the completely other end with 10 men back is nearly losing the game?

Great win! Villa were terrific.

Slight negs.

- Could have scored a few more
- AWB was dumb for their goal
- why couldnt we run the ball to the corners?
- McT and Matic were our only poor performers - both terrible.

Pogba and Bailly were excellent. Rashford way off his game. Bringing on James for Bruno was a head scratcher. Played some lovely stuff and over the moon with those three points.

Have to buy Grealish. He was the best player on the pitch alongside AWB for me.

Listened to the match on 5Live and it sounded great entertainment Good win against a tough Villa side who came to have a go.

Every time I heard Grealish's name Villa appeared to have a chance or a free-kick. What an asset he would be. We have to sign him.

Well done lads. Let's keep it going.

We had 4 opportunities to take it to the corner on last few mins and didnt take any of them.....decision making so bad sometimes.

Anyway great win and great great Christmas for us. 26 points from 30 is league winning form whatever way you look at it.

Bailly and Pogba and Shaw all very good tonight.

How is it that every time a Villa player felt contact they went down and the ref gave it almost 100% of the time, but on the number of occasions that the contact was more obvious bringing our players down the ref just played on?

Brilliant.
Vital 3 points, but hard won.
We were totally outmuscled and outplayed.
I don’t care how man goals Rashford scores. We need a serious upgrade on him.
Very poor and his lack of effort in the last 15 minutes, in breaking up play or trying to stop Villa building attacks from the back and midfield, was one of the reasons we were getting put under constant pressure.
I said it time and time again on here, we have a team of physically weak players, who can’t and won’t tackle, press or win back the ball.
Bruno, Fred, Pogba, Rashford and Martial, all weak and poor in challenges and attempted tackles. This is where we’ll be caught out and stop us making the final yards to a top place.

Happy with the result. Villa are a great team and pushed us.

One thing we need to be better at is taking the sting out of games. It's silly things like Pogba not taking the ball to the corner in the last minute. It's also our midfield shitting the bed in the last 20 minutes and being a sieve allowing every Villa attack through. Bailly was outstanding but for that last minute block we could have ended up with another Leicester which wouldn't be the defense's fault. It would be our inability to use the ball to cool the game down. Limit the chances to the opposition. If we want to score more, build attacks in a more methodological manner. This will burn us down the line if we keep on playing with fire.

Great taken goal by Martial. Pogba was very good so was Bruno. Rashford runs into blind alleys too much and doesn't find the open man. Not much complaints about the back 5. Another win for Ole. Level on points with Liverpool, and most wins in the league. Good stuff.

Not sure if Grealish is reincarnated Iniesta or the ref made him look like that by calling a foul every single time.

Was it a foul for Villa's goal? No replays shown, and I wasn't sure. AWB and Bailly were both great but between them made a mistake leaving Grealish totally free.

Very enjoyable game except for Mike Oliver who is embarrassment personified.

All in all, good entertainment and three points.

Third game in 7 days of whatever. Great determination. The look of a possible champion.

Need a bit more — make that a lot more — class from Martial and Rashford for us to prepare a proper bid to unseat Liverpool though.
