Still so confident in him when he gets a chance like the one he took today, you'd always back him in that situation. His assist was great too. Really good to see him have a proper good game again

Excellent today, I pray this kicks him into some form now. If he goes on the same run he did last year, it will give us a great shot at the league or a cup at least.

Put this in the post-match thread but perhaps more relevant here.

I love that he’s still greedy despite not scoring for ten games. Maybe there are times when he should pass, but it’s all good with me. That kind of confidence and belief is crucial for any young player with aspirations for the very top.

Nice to see mason back to his best today.

Thought ole subbing him was really strange, but he starts for me against Sheffield again.

Robertson is such a twat. Greenwood has ice running though his veins in those positions.

Imagine watching that goal and realising he tucks that away on his weaker side. What a talent.

He's just a striker for me. His finishing is sublime. We honestly need to put him more centrally because that's where he shines.
This. He has to be moved to striker position at some point. In the meantime, he can improve some other aspects (apart from finishing) of his game at the wing.

He's the best finisher at the club, no any doubt about it for me. This goal tonight wasn't as easy as it may looks like, but he made it look easy.

I don't mean this as a sleight on Rashford, more a compliment to Greenwood. But with their goals today, Greenwood had Robertson screaming at him, never took his eyes off the ball, one perfect touch to set it and one to put it right in the corner. Side netting, Alison (I know spelling, but it's a girl's name) nowhere near. Rashford, more time and space, ball was bobbling, not under control and Alison gets a hand to it.

Honestly not a sleight, both were goals at the end of the day.

But you just see how natural it is to Greenwood.

Quality goal and assist. We just need patience with him - he’s got everything he needs to be at the top, he’s just got to put it all together.

Huge goal and assist for him. Hope that kickstarts his season again. We desperately need our forwards in form.

Great finish and hopefully gets the monkey off his back. Wasn’t sure he should be brought off but it worked out in the end.

Played well today, great goal and made himself a couple of other chances. He gives us a quality goal scoring option And i think his best is still to come.

He did very well today, glad to see it too. I noticed he was back to using his right foot more, that kind of unpredictability is a nightmare for defenders.

He's the only player we have in the squad that's ever shown he can be effective from the right really so even if he's off form we probably need to keep playing him until he hits some form. Hopefully he keeps his place now.

Great finish today.

Took his goal very well. Thank you, Mason.

Just out of curiosity, wouldn’t screaming at an opponent be a bookable offense for unsporting play?

Was playing much more narrow than he usually does. Possibly because we played against an attacking team.

When he didn't cross to Cavani or Van de Beek on that early break away I thought it was going to be another frustrating game for Mason, but then he took his goal with ice cold composure and then returned the favour to Rashford with that quick ball, showing good awareness. Hopefully this will boost his confidence.

Would anyone else like to see him take some free kicks?

First half there was one that favoured the left footer, Pogba took it, Shaw was stood over the ball too as the decoy, but Greenwood was nowhere near it. His striking technique is his best quality and he scored a fair few free kicks at youth level. Why is he not in the mix?

Absolutely vital today.

Great goal and assist.

So unlucky to be first subbed off yet again. Ole needs to give him longer in a few games after this as a reward.

Being taken off first every week regardless of performance is never good for a players confidence.

I thought he was more involved tonight than he has been in ages. A few idiots were complaining that he was wasteful with his two opportunities but anybody with a few brain cells could only be encouraged by how easily he was getting into the game from the right. No surprise at all to see that he scored and assisted.

This lad is a diamond and hopefully this performance can kickstart his season.

I’d still like to see Mason groomed to become our 9, a worthy successor to Van Persie, but he put in a very solid shift today on the right. And until we bring in a proper RW the job is his.

Nah. He literally cannot head a ball, ducks out of so many aerial challenges that we cannot play him at striker yet. His strength and hold up also leaves a lot to be desired. He is definately playing in the right position for atleast the next couple of years

He should smile more, looks angry and neutral most of the time, I don't like that in players!

Great performance today and good to see him scoring again.

I also believe he's a player we should just enjoy his development and tone down the criticism a bit.
