oh hell, you mean we are going to on the verge of winning the title and Scotty McT is going to fall on his arse and give away a vital goal?

Great technique on the shooting, keeps his foot low and not much follow through to lift it high.
4 headers, 3 shots. Turning into a very good midfielder

Remember when he was being written off as someone who can't even make it as our fringe squad players? How amazing confidence can do for a footballer.

He is definitely top 3 strikers of the ball at the club no doubt. He got an excellent technique on his strike, just so clean and effortless. He will be a starter here next season, he is a warrior with a great attitude.
Where? We will probably sign a DMC and he won't be starting further up the pitch. I honestly believe he will end up in league 1 as a starting striker, later in his career

About 2 weeks ago every other fan was saying why we playing Mctominay? What does he offer?

Now the agenda is on Fred.

When are we going to start appreciating players we have?
When they can perform consistently and show us they are top players worthy of starting for a side who wants to compete for major honours. They can all have the odd game here and they but none will be candidiates for POTY or TOTS (maybe 1-4 will). the rest therefore, leave themselves expendable as United are used to having the best players in the country in various positions

As much as I hate the dippers and Stevie Me, he was a great player in his prime. If Scott becomes half the player then we will still have a very good player in the squad.

How much later because League 1 is a very low standard compared to playing regularly for Man United in the PL. No way will he end up there, especially as a striker unless it is when he is 34 ish. I think he will turn into a similar player to Matic but with better fitness.

United are used to having the best players in the country? Just because 20 years ago they had 5/6 of the best players does not mean they are entitled to having the best players.

Also that is a complete myth. Nokia were the leading mobile phone brand back then, the reason they are not is because they were entitled, they did not move on with times, generations.

Back then, United were the powerhouse in terms of money too, competition has increased, as a fan be prepared to accept it.

Also, Fergies team had alot of valuable players like Fletcher, Park, Brown, Hernandez who were no where near the best in the league.

I think Henderson is a good shout, Hendo probably a better passer but room for improvement for Mctominay.

On a side note he speaks incredibly well, he’s had a great schooling.

This is getting ridiculous. And all this talk about the PL. Scott is a decent player. Gerrard was in a different class. David May has won more than Gerrard but that doesn't make him a better player.

In his 30s yes. maybe 31/32. He is nothing like matic Scott is an attacking player being forced to play DMC. To me he should be a CF.
Just you watch. He'll end up upfront

Just missing one minor part. Which is the ability to dominate and control games for the best midfield in Europe. Apart from that, yes, almost exactly the same
well said. It seems all you need is a few goals these days and everyone goes into total overdrive. I really like McT and he may even still become a proper top player but he’s still a way off. Comparing him to the best midfielder of the last generation and one of our best ever captains after a few goals. Thats about right for on here. He’ll be trash again the next few games he doesn’t score in and goes hiding in the middle or his “backward and sideward” passes start getting intercepted. I hope he keeps building on this and then maybe in few years who knows

When is McTominay going to be recognised as the next Steven Gerrard?
I hope NEVER as he has to win PL Leagues not like Slippy.
And then why not like Scholes or Keane ??

He is not an attacking player, he is a box to box CM. He has a similar playing style to Keane when SAF first signed him. As Scott's football intelligence improves with age I wouldn't be surprised to see him play as a deep lying playmaker.

Why would we ever want to say McT was the next Gerrard?

We've had so many brilliant players that have achieved greatness in a United shirt to compare him with surely.

Strange thread to start on this forum.

He's already far superior to peak Gerrard.

Anyone? Someone, surely?

Keane was playing right midield when SAF signed him and they play nothing alike. Keane could pass.
I am assuming you are trolling with the "deep lying playmaker" because I suggested he will be striker ?

In midfield, either next to Pogba or whoever is signed to replace Pogba.

He is still so disrespected by many people within the fanbase. His development as both a footballer and as an athlete has been incredible over the last few years. Personally my fav player at the club (I am Scottish so maybe a bit deluded) and think he has all the tools to become a mainstay midfield option for the next 10 or so years.

Keane played as a box to box for Man United when SAF first signed him. I also suggested a DLP because that is much more likely than striker. He will be neither though most likely.
