I'm not anti Scottish, I just wanted Moyes out.
I see a few posters saying we did right to prioritise the match against Millan over the match against Leicester.

So here’s the question,

Would you rather win the FA Cup and at the same time destroy City’s chances of winning The Treble and defend our own unique huge part of our history.

Or

Win the Europa, a league we shouldn’t really even be in the first place and give City the chance to accomplish what only we could brag about all these years.

I’m pretty sure SAF would prioritise our history keeping City behind us rather than winning the Europa league.

I’d much rather defend out Treble than go for a cup we don't belong in, and think we should have done everything possible to try and prevent City from winning the treble this year, its defending our history. The next round was Southampton and in a final anything can happen we could win the FA cup and at the same time defend our Treble against our noisy neighbours. Ole was part of that history and I would be surprised to think he wouldn’t feel the same.

Don`t worry the scousers will beat City in the champions league final for us to defend the treble.

Assuming we get top four, I think I'd personally enjoy an FA Cup win more than a Europa League win.

You're more likely to beat a rival in the FA Cup, and given there are no fans allowed in the Europa League final (likely there will be at the FA Cup final), I can't imagine winning something feels quite like it should in lockdown. In fact, I'd go to say that any league or cup triumph during Covid is effectively meaningless.

Just do what I think Liverpool did when I’ve accidentally seen a picture of their mugs, turn the lights off, lots of pyrotechnics and good angles to pretend people are there.

also an opportunity to get the trophies from the previous season and pose with Them with the current seasons to make out you won them at the same time.

I think we should have prioritise the FA Cup but not for the reasons you've mentioned but because our players are fatigue and playing domestically has to be better then playing abroad?

Europa league for me. Worry about our own triumphs, and it's much more likely we win the Europa than the fa cup.

Both are great cups to win. I suspect the Europa is more commercial attractive to win but the FA cup has such a rich history to it.

If there is uncertainty around a top 4 finish, It’s the Europa obviously.

Fa cup in a normal season if we were comfortable top 4. It's looking good for that but past experience shows we like to make it hard for ourselves so EL as another route to secure CL football.

Am I one of the few that thinks Ole didn't prioritise anything? To me he just made a miscalculation in his team selection which didn't pay off.

I just can't get excited about the EL, particularly when you have the CL games the night before and there have been some real crackers this year. I get it's hard to win but it's unnecessarily long and it's real value is as Mou used it, to get CL football which looks sewn up this season.

FA cup is devalued a bit by the League Cup's existence but it's the main domestic cup competition and so I'd plump for that if I had to choose.

Europa League, every time. It's a European trophy, and a competition in which we don't have to play the same teams over and over again. Rewards are better, too.

Europa League all day. Continental trophy, pot 1 in the CL. A chance to win the Super Cup which is more prestigious than the Community Shield.

Europa League - guaranteed CL place. Pot 1 seeding. Greater prize. Super Cup place. Its not even close

Records will fall eventually. Better to live in the present and focus on yourself than worry about when a certain team will repeat something we did 20+ years ago (and let's not forget that there's still a long way to go to actually get to the final and win every cup they're in). So with that...
Europa league has an incomparably bigger prize money, gives you pot 1 seeding in next years champions league, qualifies us for the European super cup next year, counts as a big European trophy.

I personally really enjoy the FA Cup so in a normal situation I could see it going either way, but the europa league has become pretty reputable so it's close from a prestige pov. Probably one of those that brits would prefer the FA Cup but everyone else prefer the Europa League, so all else being equal, the benefits it gives financially and in coefficient standings and the next years CL outweighs everything else. Also funnily enough the FA Cup is much tougher to win than the Europa League without being more reputable. So that would probably add a big sway to the question.

Shaw, Bruno and Rashford all started vs Milan a few days before this game and were benched or left out due to injury for the FA Cup game. It's very obvious which one took priority.

More importantly, we haven’t secured top four, and we could easily bottle it once again. So prioritizing the EL is the right decision.

I feel like we had this discussion at some point in the past.

Europa league for me.

More tangible benefits. Continental Cup > Domestic Cup. Also I genuinely don’t care what City or other clubs achieve. We should not be that small time to think about what we can do to stop other teams achieving something.

FA Cup most seasons. Europa if we weren't established in top 4.

The Europa is a second-rate cup with little prestige if you're a big club dumped into it, the only tangible benefit is CL qualification.

The FA Cup is the major domestic cup.

It’s all about the pot 1. If City do win everything, does it really matter? With their squad, must be approaching minimum expectation.

I don't know that's just not me. I just can't stand the thought of City winning the Treble, it's our bragging right, we've won a treble, no one else has. You can't brag about winning the Europa league when you are one of the biggest football clubs on the planet. We win the FA cup add another major trophy to our cabinet and ruin City's treble chance. That's how I see it.
Maybe its more of a local thing for me. I don't want Liverpool to win as many league titles as us and I dont want City to equal our Treble.

Even if the FA Cup was "prioritised" last Sunday United could still have ended up losing the final to Chelsea or City. Its 1 FA Cup win in 17 years let's not forget and finals defeats are the worst to take on the chin. 2018 v Chelsea, 2007 v Chelsea, 2005 v Arsenal and 1995 v Everton still annoys me.

Europa league for me for mostly the reasons other posters have given, it would also be nice to win another European trophy 30 years on from Fergusons first ever European trophy with United.

I am with you mate. I hate seeing Liverpool and City win the big titles. For them to beat our treble would be a nightmare.

I will be very happy if we win the EL, but it is still not CL.

Glad you agree. Maybe it's because some of the posters aren't from England and maybe don't feel that strongly about City and Liverpool

All things considered I'd say the Europa, the black mark against it is that it's without question a second rate competition (it literally is) but it does give an advantage in next seasons UCL plus and more importantly winning it means Arsenal don't which means how many consecutive seasons away from the UCL for them? And let's be honest that's something everyone can enjoy

We could lose to Arsenal in the EL final this season, that would be as annoying as any of those FA Cup final losses.

I was gonna say FA cup because I agree the EL is a second rate trophy but you’ve appealed to my bitter side with the Arsenal theory. So EL it is. I’m a very bitter man.

Another poster the other day said all English Man united supporters should be cheering on Liverpool and City in the CL against non Premier league teams i guess neither of you two will doing that

You know what to be honest, I don't mind them winning and going far in European cups because that proves our league is one of the best which is good for us. I'll cheer them to the final as long as they DONT win it.

Depends on the manner of defeat. Will be hard to top the 2005 FA Cup final v Arsenal. A game United should have won comfortably and ended up losing on penalties.

Arsenal themselves will be fairly annoyed if Emery happens to be the manager to knock them out of this seasons Europa League.

No I always want other english teams knocked out. Spurs result was nice. Arsenal last year golden with Arsenal fan tv as well.

I think when Wigan was in Europe in championship it was fun to see them do alright though, but I think that is the last time I really wanted another english team to do well in europe.

The only good thing with them going far is that the joy is bigger when they fail. Like Liverpool CL final loss with Karius.

Although if they win it hurts.

I think if they win EL it do not hurt as much, but Liverpool loss vs Sevilla was fun.

Nah I don't care about the EL. Not interested. When Liverpool turned that match around against Milan, man that was one of my worst days..
Arsenal losing to Barcelona in the final was fun.
