Can everyone stop saying they didn’t have a defibrillator. This how bullshit rumours start. Even more bizarre considering they (ridiculously) showed it being used.

credit to the ref. I thought he noticed pretty quickly, certainly quicker than the players.

not saying they didn't have one....just the footage shown here didn't show them using the defib machine in between chest compressions which is why i brought it up in the first place. I was just really surprised to see the EMT doing chest compressions and no sight of a defib machine to aid in the CPR. I'm glad they had one because clearly his heart must have stopped on the pitch for them to do CPR.

TV cameras zoomed in and you could see him laying on the pitch and his eyes were wide open but not blinking

BBC are getting slated on twitter and rightly so, that was as scummy as it gets. Their coverage has been diabolical so far.
It wasn’t their footage to be fair. RTÉ in Ireland had the same footage.

Its not their coverage , they just take the feed, like every other country does, but no need for them to be showing it, should have just cut straightaway.
It IS their coverage. Just because you are using a feed from another broadcast it doesn't mean you can't cut away to something else. Stop giving them excuses for their crummy coverage.

I meant their coverage of the tournament overall so far, I know they get a feed but they could've cut back to the studio much quicker.

Can't believe they're even thinking of finishing this tonight if that above is true, Uefa/Fifa go really low sometimes.

Pretty sure there's a 2pm in the week that isn't being used so play it then if both players are o.k about it (if Eriksen survives) and then move the other fixtures back a day or two.

They weren't slow at all. It took them like 10 seconds to sprint over to him just because he was probably at the furthest point away from the benches.
That was his own teams 2 medics. The stadium docs and equipment didn't get there for what felt like ages

They put him in the recovery position when his heart wasn't beating then waited for the medics! Should have started CPR sooner.

The seriousness was obvious within about 30 seconds of it happening. They showed it for minutes. The reaction of the players made that very obvious, paired with the collapse and complete stillness.
I thought the BBC coverage (I don't think it was their coverage), was acceptable. When it was realised the gravity of the situation the camera coverage was from a respectful distance.

I agree that it shouldn't but if the players are willing then...

Outrage over TV rules rather than a clear lack of high end medical equipment by the pitch?? Ugh
This is most definatley not the case! We shouldn't have been in a position to see how well he received medical attention, if this was indeed the case as I turned off the second I realised this didn't look good as I had my 7 year old child watching, as I bet many others were! The outrage towards the broadcast is important! Many will have been affected by this, as alot of children will have been watching the football unsupervised as I used to as a child!

Regarding the medical care, I didn't witness, but from what I have heard sound criminal given how the situation has turned out and should also be rightfully scrutinised when a life is involved, I completley agree and hope an inquest is held!

There will be more information coming at 6:45pm according to Danish news. He's been taken to hospital.

Ref and Schmeichel were great. I thought the medial and physio staff were really slow to be honest. Expected much much better and CPR should have started sooner.

Looking like he could be okay. Really hope so with no other damage. Come on mate.
Are you medically trained out of interest?

Phew, positives signs at least. Still furious about the coverage. This is not only disrespectful to Eriksen himself, his family and his team but also to the first responders who were fighting for his life.

Nobody wants to be in their shoes, believe me. Had to perform PCR myself (thankfully the person regained his breathing even before the ambulance arrived) a couple of years back and some teenage punk tried to film the scene on his phone. Thankfully after I screamed at him to get the phone away another bystander ripped it out his hands and smashed it on the ground. Some people just have no shame.

The stadium speaker, who sounds like Peter Schmeichel (not sure), says there will be a message at. 7.45. People must stay in their seats.

Not if he died, and he was (presumably) having a heart attack. Surely Denmark wouldn't play any more, at least. But thankfully it looks good.
Thankfully he didn’t die and it doesn’t seem he will, tragic accident but this stuff happens in football and we all know about it. Cancelling this EURO would’ve not prevented it and we might, unfortunately, see more of such situations in the future. Surely he was thoroughly checked by the Danish medical stuff before the tournament and the emergency services were on point as it seems. Glad it all seems to end well

it took 1 minute and 49 seconds for the actual medics to get to him which is pretty damn quick considering he was on the opposite side of the pitch and they didn't know to come straight away

Disgraceful if this match continues. Players will be out of their minds right now, and nobody on the stands will be able to enjoy it properly either, after all they witnessed.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see the Belgium game called of, lukaku is his team mate at inter and there’s a few spurs players that are his former team mate, after hearing the news there obviously not gonna be in the right mind of frame.

Lucky Jon Moss wasn't Reffing, he'd still be lying there.

Hope the images of him awake are legit, absolutely sickening stuff. My Mrs was crying watching it, the BBC should have cut back before they showed his arms twitching on the defibrillator :(

Sounds like quite a few broadcasters fecked up, seems like a chain of cock ups starting with UEFA.

I think the Danish team might just withdraw from.the tournament. Ask the players what they want but might just be a good idea for everyone to be with their loved ones and away from football for a bit.

The football pitch is maybe the best place for such a horrible thing to happen, apart from an actual hospital. Thank god for CPR and the medical staff. Heroes in my book.

If he's in stable condition, don't see why not?

It's not easy to move matches around in a tournament like this.

Moving fixtures by a day or two will cause chaos for fans who may have travelled to these games.
