He's changed his phone contract!!! TrippiON
I think he backs himself to take the starting spot. This is a signing that allows him to come back home to Manchester. Why would Trippier sign for United to be a backup squad player.
Nothing about him screams cheap buy to add squad depth...he just won the league in Spain and Athletic don't seem to want to get rid of him.
Strange target indeed.

Genuinely how anyone who watches AWB could think he'd make a good CB I've no clue whatsoever.
Agree.
These are the same people who wanted Dalot play as a RW because he does stepovers.
Just because AWB slide tackles does not mean he can be a CB or DM. It's insane.
I think the last thing I want is a CB who's primary function is a slide tackle
Aye, sounds an utterly horrendous idea. His best quality is the last thing you want to see a CB doing.
He has the aerial presence of a flea. No upper body strength. Clueless positionally.
In other words, only a slight downgrade on Lindelof.
United : We've scouted thousands of players for the right fullback role at Manchester United and have come to the conclusion that AWB is the perfect short and longterm candidate for that role.
3 years later
United : Can you (AWB) play CB ?
Transfer request doesn't mean anything it serves as much purpose as Player informing the Club he wants out verbally then it up to clubs to work out the fees .Having my doubts on this one. If Trippier doesn't hand in a transfer request it won't happen as it's clear Atletico won't sell for anything below £25m which is excessive for a soon to be 31yr old
I still don't get it Wan Bissaka's problem isn't that much in the final third he has improved in that regard but I don't give that much importance to goals and assists by fullbacks where I find him lacking is in his interplay ,passing with right weight and general hesitancy on the ball which actually hinders our general play and fluency he needs to get better in those areas if he intends to stay at United for long-term as starter.Tweet

Luckhurst: "United are courting the 30-year-old Trippier, with the coaches frustrated by Wan-Bissaka's reticence in attack. Wan-Bissaka tallied as many assists and a goal more than Shaw last season but their attacking approaches were polar opposites for the majority. Shaw was named the United players' player of the year and finished runner-up to Fernandes for the Sir Matt Busby statue".

His ability in the build up phase is the issue hence Luckhurst reporting that the attacking approach of both Shaw and AWB were polar opposites.Transfer request doesn't mean anything it serves as much purpose as Player informing the Club he wants out verbally then it up to clubs to work out the fees .

Aye, it is a bit baffling. Maybe because the club viewed it as a simple deal to do, so we were just planning on getting it done and out of the way? Either way, I think if we ended up with just Sancho and Trippier it would massively underwhelming. I don't believe that will happen, but you never know. While an extra RB is needed I wouldn't of called it one of the priorities this summer so I'm a little concerned that this is the one that's being spoken about in the media the most (after Sancho) and more than a CB or CM
What so his wife couldn’t do it?
Yep, he has the time to fish around for a new phone contract while at the Euros, looool.
He does, I read somewhere they’d been looking at schools alreadyHe gets in the England team at right & left back over AWB & Shaw. I think he’d fancy himself to start.
He’s Mancunian anyway. I don’t know if he has kids but bringing them up at home could be a factor?
Yes it's shocking when people.....post opinions on a message board. Hope someone notifies the authorities and we are rightfully punished.Armchair managers unite!

I think that's exactly what the article is saying !Transfer request doesn't mean anything it serves as much purpose as Player informing the Club he wants out verbally then it up to clubs to work out the fees .

He said one of the things he likes about Madrid is when he takes his kids to school and other dads should “vamos” at him.He gets in the England team at right & left back over AWB & Shaw. I think he’d fancy himself to start.

He is also a bit slow in supporting the attack. He is sometimes five yards behind where he is supposed to be.Transfer request doesn't mean anything it serves as much purpose as Player informing the Club he wants out verbally then it up to clubs to work out the fees .

Maybe the management also prescribes to the view held by some that Sancho needs the right kind of RB to excel and want to get ahead of the situation? Would be first time in many years we are thinking strategically but if its true it makes both the transfers doubly risky as any one of them can fail in the PL.Aye, it is a bit baffling. probably a requirement from Bet365 to open an account
Yep, he has the time to fish around for a new phone contract while at the Euros, looool.
See your point and agree. At the same time, I do think Sancho, Trippier and a CB would be great (given that we dont lose anyone).Either way, I think if we ended up with just Sancho and Trippier it would massively underwhelming. I don't believe that will happen, but you never know.
he would be told that he’s competing with AWB and the best man wears the shirt. If Trippier comes he will be the starting RB. He's at a club who have just won their league. He will want assurances and I think the one thing he would want is to be a regular starter. He's 30 not 34/35
So Trippier gets it thenhe would be told that he’s competing with AWB and the best man wears the shirt.
The unlikely in that tweet is doing some very heavy liftingTweet

That makes no sense. We spunked a record fee on AWB, he's still very much progressing, probably played the most minutes out of any outfield player in Europe last season (there was this infographic going round prior to Maguire getting injured that had them two ahead of the rest). There is no way we stifle his development for Trippier. If he comes, it'll be because he's relatively cheap, and he can ease the burden on AWB, provide some experience and a different tactical option. If Trippier comes he will be the starting RB. He's at a club who have just won their league. He will want assurances and I think the one thing he would want is to be a regular starter. He's 30 not 34/35
it doesn’t matter. The net effect will be a better fill back. And give us far better options. So Trippier gets it then
€0 would be a very good deal. The price for Trippier will be 100% less than 20m Euros.
What about the succession of actual managers who have opted not to play him at centre back?Armchair managers unite!
