For €45 to €55 million, this could go down as one of our greatest signings in club history. Up there with the likes of Cantona, Ronaldo or Vidic. This is a game changer for us.

He's coming to us to get paid. And the top European clubs will not get him because nobody will pay the wages we will and Real didnt want to pay him the money because they aren't desperate to keep him.

Otherwise It hardly makes sense to leave a established Champions league contender to join a Europa League level team with all due respect unless it's financially motivated
Sure. If they don't buy anyone they have the same (or even less chance) of winning CL.
That team is in massive need of rebuilding while ours will be way ahead of them.

Is Florentino going to take revenge for withdrawing from the Super league?

I kind of figured it was happening considering there was no denial from either party. Still I always have a hard time believing we ever get lucky with transfers these last few years. I just need Goretska next and I will fully believe in this Ole administration.
Goretzka will join us next summer. I have seen it.

Hand on heart I think we have a better side than Madrid.

Easy mate, I wouldn't go that far. He's not going to be our Ronaldo or Cantona.

So going by reports we have agreed with Varane and also agreed to give Real what they are asking for him but negotiations will continue this week?

Why do people keep saying “according to reports I’ve seen” and never citing said reports?

There's been an expected fee of €50m reported but it doesn't appear to be finalised.

I think we're still haggling on exact price/structure from what's been said.

We finished two consecutive season 3rd and 2nd. I wouldnt call us a Europa League level team at the moment.

way too many defensive flaws? Come on then I can't wait to here this....
Struggles defending the back post, struggles aerially, can often be caught deeper than the rest of the defensive line. There’s a lot more to defending than 1v1s.

AWB is a spectacular tackler and amazing 1 v. 1. But the former is only needed because he finds himself out of position at times. That recovery pace and tackling ability will only last so long. Hopefully with time and more experience his reading of the game will improve.

What a strange post. You do know United finished second in the league last season and will play Champions League football for the second consecutive season?

Or unless you win your league are you classed as lower level in your opinion?

PS Real didn't win the league either.

so way too many now equals two

good to know
Well his passing isnt great. His decision making isn't the best. He loses concentration. His marking is suspect.

Very quick and makes a brilliant recovery tackle though it can't be denied.

Definitely has more than two flaws.

There’s nothing wrong with short term signings if it brings us trophies… (RVP) we will still get a good few years out of him and then we can think about signing a longer term CB
It doesn’t matter anyway, he’ll get his improved Madrid contract any day.

Nacho playing really bad against Glasgow Rangers. Florentino will have to reconsider his decision to sell Varane to Manchester Unired.
That sounds like a you problem to be honest
Edit just saw he was sent off. Gets better

He could be our VVD
He could but I'd be surprised if he did. That said he is comfortably an upgrade on Lindelof and a very good defender.

In either scenario it's a huge exaggeration to coin him a potential "best purchase in club history".
