I know tactical decisions are mostly on Ole but do Carrick and McKenna only sit there and say "yes boss"? seem like none of them complain or question some of the decisions at all?

He should be sacked if we can't get through this group stage.

No more excuses.
No way, brother. That's too late. He should be sacked as soon as us crashing out looks likely. With all the investment this season, a repeat of last years failure is unacceptable.

His record in the CL is awful, didn't think it would be that bad.

I don't understand what he was trying to do tonight, subs and tactics made no sense at all.

Can't help but think he is far too reliant on individual brilliance. I hope he proves people like me wrong and wins the league this season, but I just can't see it.

FFS, all the feel-good factor is gone too.
Yea same. I just cannot see it when i see the way we play and also because there are too many good teams as well in both England and Europe.

On paper we have one of the best teams in the world but we dont play like it, mostly away from home.

Should have taken off pogba when we went a man down and also should have left fred on.

The last red I remember from us is the 6-1 defeat to Spurs, where we again just gave up.
That's a good example. Completely lost our heads. However you could say that Spurs are a good team who were in better physical condition than us owing to no pre-season for our players. However this was inexcusable. That second half was as disgraceful as they come. Yet some on here will have you believe that it's all AWB's fault. Yes, he was very careless and sometimes stuff like that happens when you lunge, but to then send the team out second half playing as if we are about to get thrashed, was so shameful.

Any words from him in the post match interview? Is he blaming he red card, ref or the pitch? I bet he cannot introspect and see how shite his in-game management is.

Ole got it wrong and it was a disappointing result. Still confident we’ll go through so no point in going overboard.

So now we're also not blaming the manager when his own tactical subs miserably flop and lose us the game.

Great. You guys are starting to reach another level of absolving him of blame.
Best to ignore it.

If that was Jose today, the knives would be out from those same posters.

Well that is fair. I'll stop being as supportive when we stop progressing.

The problem is that we've been continiously progressing as a team. This result isolated isnt a concern for me, with 11 men we don't lose.
Every team face freak result. However, these kind of performance, and even result is not uncommon for us. That's where it is worrying. I don't think there is progression in our football. It's more about improvement in player quality. However player quality can only do as much. In situation like going down 10 men, it requires manager ability to come up with idea to control the game which we're as clueless as ever.

It's not one game. We have a fair share of absolutely disgraceful performances, like today, against Wolves and even Southampton it was crap. Quite often we manage to escape with a win because we have top squad but we don't perform anywhere near as well as we should.
Ok but if we smash the next 5 games in the group, like we very well might do I am sure the narrative changes. The season will be full of ups and downs. I’d rather lose tonight than Sunday or last game in the group

He's put his faith in the wrong players and has done a bit too much for me. I get the loyalty idea, but it's now just affecting results.

Two of them let him down tonight and then on top of that he's consciously chosen to ignore midfield so we're incapable of keeping possession properly with 11 men, let alone down to 10.

If only we had Harry Kane, we'd be back as all conquering team again. Said who?

Am I the only one relaxed here?

We're out of CL already?

Sack Ole now and restart again? 5 games into the season?

Mind blowing stuff here.

How on earth he prioritised Donny over a DM and then hardly play him. This is the match you need a skilled DM.

We are quick to demand we sell our deadwood players but we forget that the worst of the lot is sitting in the dugout. I have never known a manager so capable of pulling defeat from the jaws of victory.

Much like England with Southgate, the team we now have is far too good to be wasted on a failing managerial experiment.
Agreed. This group of players have a lot going for them. Any manager with pedigree will get this group playing well and competing for serious silverware. With Ole, we will never be good enough it seems and will most likely waste the last years of Ronaldo as well.

For me, the biggest factor is the lack of game control, even the games we won. Too many last ditch tackles, too many misplaced passes. Things you don't see other top clubs in Europe. The team is fantastic now, no excuses for Ole for me.

Just look at the way Chelsea plays (watching them right now), no player takes more than two touches in their own half. Our coaching compared to theirs is night and day. No amount of signings make up for coaching this deficient.

No. That was an awful performance. This was 2 stupid incidents that occurred neither of which had bollocks all to do with tactics or whatever other shite people are talking about.
 you actually think this wasn't an awful performance?! feck me, This whole performance was a joke. We invited far too much pressure, played hoof ball and failed to regain control. Being a man down is not a fecking excuse to allow 19 shots to 2 versus Young Boys.

Don't try and trick anyone to insinuate the performance was fine if not for the individual errors. We were shite. It's that simple. Hollywood balls galore, no discipline in keeping it simple, no composure. Nothing.

This team is ready to win, the manager is not a winner and neither is he stackable or will he do enough to be sacked due to the quality at is disposal. It's purgatory.
I think the people calling for is head are wasting their time.
Pretty much.

The team has too much quality(credit to Ole for that) to fail, but we don't have a top level manager to win the big trophies.

If the game ends 1-1 then the rhetoric is completely different. Everyone's acting like Solskjaer played the back pass.
Even if the game ended 1-1, that second half performance was a shambles. 10 men or not, to not even have an attempt the whole half is not acceptable, especially against a team like Young Boys.

If he wins a trophy this year he stays.

When he doesn't, he goes.

That's the situation, he's earned that.

Given everything I've seen to date, he won't win a trophy. So we can start looking at options around March I'd say.

He's done an excellent job of turning around the mood, squad and so forth, and should go with our thanks.

I just don't know why Ole isn't able to get any kind of consistency out of us. One would think a game like on the weekend would give a lift. Yet we came out today slow and pedestrian even before the sending off. Every good result is followed by some horrific performances under Ole. No idea why that is.

He’s just not good enough. Put him in charge of any one of Brighton, Burnley, Newcastle, Palace, Southampton, etc. Any of them, clubs who usually stay up comfortably, and I guarantee you he would get them relegated. 100% guarantee.
I'm also pretty sure you're right. It will be interesting to see what kind of job he gets when his time at United is over.

We are faced with having to put a shift in to beat villareal and atalanta. Its gonna be very difficult.

This is exactly how I feel. He won't do a shit enough job to get the boot, because our ambitions at the top are limited to Top 4. There's too much quality in the squad to not make it, but I don't see us winning any serious prize under him.

Which is very depressing, because by the time we are ready to move on from him. Some of the players in our current squad either won't be here or won't be in their prime.

It would be such a miracle for him to win the CL. Just think of the comical losses vs Barcelona, Isaksehir, Leipzig, Villareal, Sevilla and even mistakes like keeping on Fred vs PSG when we lost. Now this.

Imagine that this wouldn't in the CL till the final and we'd actually win it, that'd be great. Strangely exciting in some way because we bottle all the time.

We're just so bad to watch. We've been bad to watch for years now. We have some games where we thump teams with a few great individual performances (usually from Bruno) despite playing really bad that tends to disguise how dull and disappointing a side we are to fecking watch. Even today we didn't have a shot after the 24th minute and that was well before the red card. It's incredible really. Whatever about the lack of trophies, the midfield, the defensive mistakes, whatnot, how, after three years and all this money spent are we so incredibly dull to watch? Where is the good football we were promised by OGS? Cause I've never fecking seeing it.
