Having asked his players to implement a pressing style against Jurgen Klopp’s side at the weekend, a number of players believed the team were not prepared to play in that way because they had not particularly focussed on the tactic in training in the days leading up to the game (link)
Chicken and egg here: Are the media writing this because everyone is saying it or is everyone saying it because what the media is claiming is true?

However, looking at the body language of the players recently. Its obvious they don't believe in what they've been asked to do. Its obvious.

Everyone expected United to sit deep and counter yesterday. I'm sure Klopp expected that too. In the highest profile, highest pressure game of the season, why ask your players to do something they aren't a) comfortable or b) used to doing?

Our players can play the counter attack in their sleep. They've done it so many times. When you're stressed out you fall back on habit, what you've practiced, what you know. We should've given them that comfort blanket. Not told them to try and beat Liverpool at their own game.

i mean at this point they have to fire him. Just too much smoke and would be a huge distraction. Best case we would beat spurs in a tumescent performance, then get smoked by city.

I expected him to stay until at least the next international break. But this silence from Man Utd and the heavy leaks seem quite foreboding

Ducker on it now.

Maguire playing recently would be top of the list of alarm bells for me, how one doesn't sub him at half time vs Leicester is criminal, he shouldn't even be starting he was so out of it. He's completely off and the main cause for many of the goals vs Pool and Leicester. Leaves his position to put Pool ahead same as he did vs Spurs in the 6-1, late reactions and scuffing the ball. There's a lot of issues in midfield and coaching but he's been labouring the defence and causing all kinds of mishaps to not even give us a chance.

McTom is not putting any tackles in and is simply jogging back while watching another brainfart from Harry.

It might be blessing though as if he had the sense to at least not pick some we might only be talking about a smaller loss. He's shrinking under the players now, they need a lot more guidance, coaching and instructions during the match.

Hope they put him out of his misery ASAP now, decision to sack him will have already been made just how long it takes to get the successor sorted. Could end up one of those situations where he’s in charge for next game but will get sacked regardless of result.

Next international break will probably be ideal.

Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
Falling short of taking United to the next level doesn't mean he can't do a good job for Norway. Lets not be silly. Ole's off and I hope he goes on and has success at whatever he does next - any United fan should.
Agree completely.

I’ve never thought Solskjaer was good enough for United, but he’s done a better job than I thought he would.

He’s a good manager at setting up counter attacking footy. And with the right players he could still be a decent appointment somewhere.

My only disappointment with him here is that I think he should resign. Go out with class.

It’s game over for Ole. If the club were still backing him we’d hear from them now. Save the season and bring in Conte.

Man, Ole must have been the most incompetent manager we had since ferguson left. The fans that backed him must be named and shamed after they abused so many posters on here
There was an absolute smugness and delusion about them but we’re all United supporters at the end of the day, and I hope better days will come where and we’re not at eachother’s throats!

It's looking like only a matter of time now alright. He couldn't possibly stay after yesterday no matter what some think on here in regards to top four being mathematically impossible etc his position has become untenable.

As much as an incompetent dud Ole is as a manager at the highest level, that title belongs firmly to Moyes.

They do get it wrong so it aint gospel.

That's an account that deletes their comments frequently when they're wrong.

What he's doing is taking a guess in a situation where he's likely to be correct and takes credit if he's right. Same with Steve Bruce in Newcastle.

There's every chance that OIe is/will be fired, but other journos would have published it by now.

You feel abused? That's rich.
Yea, I remember your smugness as well back then. When you would highlight why anyone would want Ole sacked despite being top of the league and other similiar comments that disregarded how poor our performance.

Not having a go, just seeing some fans on here finally coming to an understanding what I knew years ago.
