I just climbed Pendle Hill and overheard Ian "Ollie" Holloway on the phone to Joel Glazer. Apparently Joel thinks it will be an easier transition for the fans if Ollie takes over the wheel ftom Ole.

Nothing on BBC. Suspect this is bollocks.
BBC won’t report on it, they only report things unless they’ve been confirmed. BBC don’t report on things that are, & for lack of a better term, gossip.

leave with a squad that was widely considered to be good enough to mount a title challenge
This was always nonsense. The team has never been in a title challenge by March, April, never done anything in the CL and never won a trophy. If this side is good enough to win the league they've never shown it. We've not even won more than 2 in a row more than once in all of 2021.

Not a massive Rodgers fan myself, but what do we need now?
Someone with a big personality, who can either win the players over and have them run through walls for him or he'll bury them (privately, not like Jose). Someone with a proven track record of winning.

The squad is a mix of talented players, young and more senior... either the young lads step up or are moved on, attitudes kept in line and focused on football. A proven winner keeps the egos of the squad in line and respectful as well. Suppose the word I'm looking for is someone to keep the players disciplined.

Conte did seem like the ideal candidate, albeit I wasn't originally on board with him joining...

I'd happily take Mancini from his Italy job but that sure as hell ain't happening.

ZZ is our best option and again I'm not sold on him either.

I'll be devastated if we get Rodgers tbh.

A failed ex-Liverpool manager who is on a really bad spell with Leicester after back to back failures to stay in the CL places is really not what we need. Would be a very bad appointment.

Can he take Carrick, Maguire, AWB and McFred to Molde?

Unless there are credible links and people can point or provide sources, can people stop posting nonsense gossip.

Going for Brendan Rodgers is exactly the sort of thing that we would do. He's an upgrade on Ole and a better manager, but still not the right one, imo.

We're going to be hard pressed to do better than that in November. Our form isn't great. We need a LOT of work.

It’s the worst appointment we could possibly make and stinks of panic. We’d be better reappointing Moyes…

Not sure even Bodger will sign at this point. But they will probably appoint him if he would. The whole Zidane thing is a smokescreen because they correctly think the fans are stupid enough to believe it.

We do love Leicester. First we take that championship level CB off their hands for 80m and now we are taking their version of Moyes

I wouldn't say he did well. He didn't win a trophy despite having the best squad in the Europa League by a considerable margin twice. He come 3rd by a single point on the last day of the season, could have so easily been 5th. 2nd last season, when so many others were off the pace and still nowhere near challenging the leaders.

He leaves the club with a very unbalanced squad, with a number of players looking for a way out and no style of play.

I'm sorry but I can't look back on his tenure and say any of it was successful. A well intentioned experiment with the wrong man unfortunately.

Ole will always be a legendary player, unfortunately also one of our worst managers.
His three big mistakes at least in my view,
1.Giving contracts to players like Jones and mata. It's needless especially at this stage of their career.
2.Not able to sign a one strong midfielder in his prime to immediately improve competitiveness in the weak midfield.
3.Not able to utilise the full squad. Fear of failure just got to him especially after signed Ronaldo.

What you guys need is a top class coach not just a manager. Think Zidane would be a mistake of an appointment. He has proven to be a great man manager and was of course beloved in the dressing room, but has he done anything to prove he’s a world class coach? Or did he just have a team filled 1-11 with world class players in their prime? He got their confidence high and they were hyper focused on the CL. But is he tactically brilliant and flexible?

Not sure he could take over a side that’s at rock bottom and need of a total coaching revamp and turn you into title winners.
