How bad must it be at your club that you come to a title rival and serve up relegation candidate tactics. You could easily win the game 1-0 but it’s definitely not a respectable way to play when your the biggest team in the country.

    There's only one United!
Man Utd absolutely petrified of us going by the set up and the performance.

With Man Utd sitting so deep and with no attacking intention, Lukaku might be the one.
If you watch Italian football they play this way and try to snatch a goal on the counter-attack - much like all teams who come to Old trafford.

We're just defending and trying to counter attack.

Don't you have a Chelsea forum?

I don't know why they let other teams fans comment during our games.

Sorry, but what's the point when they just want to wind us up

Carricky wants to go out without a defeat. If Chelsea score we are screwed as we would have to radically change the system and play

No wonder Ronaldo isn't playing, Carrick is clearly playing for a 0-0 draw, what a plonker!

Just how many star players do Chelsea have to be missing for Carrick not to play for a 0-0 draw ffs???

Here's hoping for a better second half from UTD.

Not sure what happens to rashford? He is getting from bad to worst.
He needs to be subbed off. Let the team down big time in the first half. Zero threat in attack, half arsed while defending. I would get Lingard on.

Fred probably our best player so far. Rashford has been pathetic
Fred the best player by far. Superb play by the touchline before releasing Sancho, unfortunately, pretty shocking from all top 3 the back 4 horrible too, including regressing van Bissaka, always bullied Lindelof and Not up to the tempo of the top game Telles. Matic has been shocking too with the little elephant McTominay.

Most of these players will improve with coaching but really some of these players really shouldnt be playing for United for many seasons already.

On a more positive note, we are still 0:0 and I think if we keep pushing, which alone seemed encouraging we will get more chances, just need to be less naive and sloppy in the final third.

VdB for McTominay after half time and Ronnie for Rashford at 60 please..

Considering XG is pretty much only ever used in terms of how constantly inaccurate it is compared to the number of goals that are actually scored, why does anyone believe in it?

Better defensively but it's at the expense of any kind of attack.

We need a forward to stay forward and give us an out, otherwise there's not much that can be done for this game. Our players always need an extra touch to look up for a pass because Ole never coached them enough to know where teammates will be. It takes time to fix that.

We had a relegation level manager for the past 3 years so relegation tactics fits us well.

Only player missing is Martial and not because it’s based on merit but he is our best attacker with strength and composure. There is a reason why he is usually our best player against City. I just need carrick to grow some balls and get him in.

Your keeper is allowed to make a few basic saves without it being described as bailing you out. We had the same shit midweek.
You're absolutely right. The keeper has done his job so far. The defenders, who's job it is to shield the keeper from having to make those saves, haven't.

    Where the grass is greener.
Genuinely compared to what we've been seeing in most games this season, think that was alright. We'll most likely lose, but who knows.

It's been a very scrappy game all round, and the usual suspects have made typical mistakes.

    Fred's done alright though!

The smash and grab is on, but only if we sub off Bruno and McTominay for Ronaldo and Donny.

Children everywhere are going to look under their bed for that crossover pass from Bruno when they go to sleep at night.

Mid-table teams nowadays try to play football. They occassionally attack.

We are doing neither. Organized in defense, but have no intention of attacking. Rashford and Sancho are there so Chelsea' defenders don't attack us, but they are not even trying to attack. Of course, that is what happens when you play 3 midfielders who are good only at defending/breaking up play.
I can’t remember once when the mids had the time or the vision to play the two wingers with a through ball. We do need a better passer in the midfield but Chelski is really playing us tight and our fullbacks aren’t good enough to stretch the field. Really missing Varane.

I don't know how you fix these players, to be honest.

Every fecking little facet of football looks so difficult for them. Ball control, 5-10 yard passes, pressing, tracking, midfielders thinking they have 5 seconds to decide what to do in midfield. It's all so hopeless.

Christ help Rangnick with this lot.
    coaching goes a long way.

many people said the same of chelsea last year

Its certainly not pretty, and despite the organisation the defence still has some holes in it, but at least there looks like there is a plan to try and play tighter.

The passing, my god the passing is hideous. Slightest bit of pressure and they lose any composure.

Why would Carrick change anything when the game is going exactly as he would have planned?
I said I would change. Of course Carrick won’t. I’d hope that when looking at the stats of his team and the game, he does look beyond the score line and realise we should be two down without a shot on target. Again.

Hopefully like Villarreal the longer we keep the clean sheet the more confidence we get and it can open up
Where would we draw any confidence from? We are playing like we are relegation fodder and doing a great impersonation of that.

We're lucky that it's 0-0 at half time to be honest. We haven't been able to do anything positive. Seems to be some evidence of a press attempt but its a bit half hearted. However the passing from the back has been terrible, and it just seems a matter of time before we gift them a goal because we have nearly gifted them a goal multiple times now. Gokng to need something else completely in the second half.

We’re not title rivals unfortunately. Top 4 is what we’re fighting for. We would have been title rivals if the manager had been replaced in the summer.

How are we a title rival of you? Also, you literally have your most successful manager to thank for big teams coming and parking the bus.
