Poch is turning staler by the moment. He has failed more then once in the last couple of years.

No thanks. He should have been appointed after SAF. That ship has sailed. If we are appointing him might as well appoint Capello.
I wouldn't go that far. He's 8 points clear at the top of La Liga and just knocked PSG out to reach the quarter finals. He's still a very good manager.

Can he continue at Chelsea with these sanctions? Will they even have money to pay salary going forward?

It is easy to forget, but Tuchel has only been at Chelsea for 13 months. The improvement in that side is huge. His point per game is 2.19. The best of any permanent manager since Mourinho in 04-07 (he managed 2,23). Frank Lampard was at 1,75 point per game. The improvement on that is remarkable. At least considering it is basically the same side. Sarri was at 2,08. Conte at 2,12.

Tuchel would have been huuuge! And he could give us an edge if some of those Chelsea players are about to leave.

Never been a fan of Poch and their exit from the CL last night was further proof for me that he’s not the man to lead Utd to glory.

As for the poll; tbh I don’t know enough about potter, ten Haag or rose to form an opinion.
The rest; Imo none of them are suitable for the long term.

Certainly not Poch. Never was such a big fan of his. ETH, is an unknown compared to many but his team play very good football always. Tuchel won't be a bad bet either. I will have Tuchel over Poch anyway.

If Tuchel is available, Ralph isn't going for another guy - 100%. He has immense respect for Tuchel as a manager.

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
One was managing Ajax, the other PSG just for context.

I am quite aware of the players that were left out. Hence, I also left out Donnamura, Hakimi, Kimpembe, Marquinhos etc.
For what it's worth, Ajax have a far richer history than PSG. What matters is the players they have at the time when comparing, but we've covered that ground already. Like listing Messi is a bit misleading because, yeah great player on his day, but he's not running at all and Poch is seemingly forced to play him. He's not advantageous in some ways to Poch and how he historically wants to play. Same with Neymar and Mbappe to an extent. This PSG team has been built in no way by Poch.

Meh, it's swings and roundabouts anyway. Ajax have been eliminated by the mighty Roma, Valencia and Spurs over the last few years under Ten Hag. One of Klopp and Guardiola will be knocked out at some stage this season. Shit happens in these competitions and, unless a manager gets it tactically very wrong then it's pointless judging them on an isolated game.

Ralf has to continue as manager until he has got them playing like he wants, or he's cleaned out the stable. There is no point wasting more time and money on trying to find a manager who can get the best (collectively) out of this bunch, the last twenty minutes on Sunday proved this without doubt.
If one more so called 'successful manager' gets thrown under a bus by the current squad, we will become like the 'Marie Celeste,' a 'ghost- vessel' afloat on sea of troubles.

Yesterday's capitulation should rule out Poch imo.

He might be super clever and he might have a deep footballing knowledge. But the United dressing room need a leader who can build a cult of personality: someone who can command instant respect (like LvG), has a dominant personality (like Mourinho), and who has the right man-management skills to keep massive egos in check (like Ole).

I think Poch fails on all three. If he'd managed to win the CL this season, that might have been enough to satisfy the first condition. But, without something more impressive on his record, if he ever steps into Carrington, the players won't give him the time of day.

And just like at PSG, I don't see any evidence that he can reform a club from top to bottom. That's probably the biggest thing United needs. Coaching and transfers will just be adding apples to an already spoiled barrel.
LVG didn't command respect for very long. His rigid system and almost school master like approach to discipline behind the scenes which included his requirements for players to only address each other in English, fining players for being a minute late for meals in the canteen, his individual player video assessments, all took the players aback and there were leaks about unrest in his first season.

Solskjaer didn't have proper man management skills, we're partly in this dilemma with this whiny squad because of how he let things spiral out of control with his favoritism and soft touch. We were mocked as 'mates FC' for a reason. He also isolated his fringe players by only playing a small core of players and making late subs despite having a large squad

Pochetinno has commanded instant respect at every club he's managed. Read up about his time at Espanyol, Southampton and Spurs. Players have lavished him with praise for his ability to instantly connect and build team spirit during his first preseason sessions. Mourinho's over 'dominant' personality was his achilles heel. There's a lot of revisionism in this post.

No disrespect to Ancelotti. Loved his work at Milan. And he is not exactly managing a mess at Madrid. Further La liga is the weakest it has been in years.

With the shitshow at Chelsea it would be negligent not to kick the tires on Tuchel...

If that can't happen then back to ETH

Here's the problem, mate: if we reset the counter, all of these votes from the current poll will be lost...
Best wait and see how the situation at Chelsea evolves; little point in jumping the gun if he's not a realistic option. Though yeah, Tuchel would be a wonderful candidate for the United head-coaching job (with Rangnick in the background) — maybe even the best and most well-received, edging out the present front runner ten Hag. :)

Going for Tuchel would be an insanely stupid move, even if he were to be available.

Admittedly, this is 6-7 years ago but Tuchel's Dortmund played some pretty attractive football iirc.

Chelsea would make negotiating with Levy look like a walk in a park.
He only has one year left after this season. Worst case scenario would be paying up remainder of contract. Chelsea can’t offer him anything due to sanctions on club.

I'd take him over Poch too, but I really think it is hard to judge managers of PSG. It's such a weird club/situation. Whether it be Tuchel, Puch or anyone....

(My vote is still ETH)

Answer to a decade long question: it took a lunatic Russian dictator to get our club back on track.

Thanks for the full answer. Appreciate it.

Also, definitely think Tuchel makes more sense than Ten Hag. Stylistically, Ten Hag is much closer to the Cruyff, Ajax, Barcelona style of play. Tuchel's principles are much more closely aligned with Rangnick's. If we're looking for a coach who can come in and build on what Ralf has done, rather than start from zero again, Tuchel's the best option (besides Nagelsmann, which is a pipe dream).

And who the hell cares! We’d be getting the next best manager to Pep and Klopp in the league. You do what you fecking can to make it happen!

I thought everyone was on board ETH train. He is seen as an up and coming manager capable of challenging Pep and Klopp in the long term.

All of sudden, everyone now going for Tuchel and abandon the long term project?

That’s because no one in their right mind thought Tuchel would be available.

Tuchel was never a possibility until this morning...

Doesn't mean that ETH isn't a good option either, 2 things can be true at the same time. Most people can chew gum and walk at the same time.

Would be delighted with ETH but would also hope that the club does their due diligence on Tuchel

I thought Chelsea aren't able to hire/sell players and staff? So if that's the case, they can't hire another manager, so the chances of Tuchel coming to United are nil.

Genuinely wonder why people think todays news will mean the end of Chelsea and Tuchel. I don’t think it changes anything, in fact, Chelsea could come out of this stronger - no debt to RA, new owners with deep pockets, a new dawn for the club and why would the new owners not want one of the current best managers in world football to remain?
No way is he leaving, no way at all.
