From Athletic, two quotes that shows what he is all about. Good riddance.
Can you imagine him becoming this famous outside football without doing anything on the pitch at any other club?
He wouldn't have lasted 2 seasons at a decently run club with any self respect. Him and manutd were really a match made in heaven, from a marketing and commercial stand point for him. We had become a circus and he took the opportunity to become the lead clown.

Imagine someone who has done nothing of note since 4 years getting a documentary on Amazon, that wouldn't be possible at any other club. The guy didn't even have to work hard at his football to become a commercial success, and as much as his agents and team, I blame the club for letting it happen. It's so disappointing.

Whoever offered him that contract needs to be shipped out immediately. This is why it will take us years to get back to the top. The decision to let him leave should have been an easy one considering his performances over the years (lack of). But these fools thought it would be a good idea to give him a new deal with more money. Madness

Pogba is both a world class player on his day and a waste of space and a cancer within the club. I think in the dressing room he is a nice guy and a professional but he is sneaky in the way he destroyed the club by letting his agents, brother etc say sht about United and also affected players close to him like Lingard to go against managers etc.

However I can see why he would say 300k is nothing. Its not nothing in the context of people are starving in the world. And even related to footballers its a decent wage. But in relationship to United when your keeper is on 375 and some new kid called Sancho is on 350 if you think you are a senior player that won a world cup and is world class then if Man Utd would really want to keep you they would have offered 400K plus. This would be normal for United. With every other player we have offered ridiculous wages that are uncalled for. You might say he's not worth it and he doesnt play enough. Agreed but 300k at United doesnt say we really want to keep you. At any other club it might. But not United. It just says your ok. You can stay but we arnt going all out to keep you. Which was right from a United perspective but I can see why Pogba would think otherwise.

We offered him the same wages he was on already on. No salary increase. And we only did so at the last minute.

It was a 'nothing' offer in terms of how little effort/thought was put into it.

Technically, it was a new contract. But in terms of how these things are usually done, it was seemingly offered in bad faith.

Basically a rejection from Manchester United that the club PR could spin into a rejection from Pogba. He's a bit of a fan favourite, after all. We don't want to be seen as tossing him away like trash. Even if we are.
You, sir, are a reasonable man.

Its been reported to be a 3.5% hike from his then current wages. This, on the back of another injury plagued season, lack of consistency or any semblance of leadership while being a senior player on the team. Now that he is a free agent, he is seeing what he is worth outside and getting his reality check without his pimp daddy.

Juve president texted him, he misread it and thought he was offered 1.5m instead of 150K. True story, Simon Stone told me when he changed his headlight fluid.

I think United come out the worst in this story. Offering Pogba 300k??? It's as if no one has learnt from the past 5 years. Pogba is 29, and with his so called talent should in his peak with no weaknesses in his game and showing up for the whole season but it's as if he's a teenager.

Liverpool signed Milner for free around the same time we got Paul Pogba. A player who turns in 7 out of 10 performances for most of his career. We won't even mention Henderson another player much less talented than this guy but way more consistent.

Pogba has cost the club over 150 million in wages and transfer fee.
Whilst Milner cost less than 40m in total since he's been there.

We need to draw out important lessons from deals like this. I thought we had learned that lesson this season which was an all time low, but if we are still offering Pogba a contract then it's clear we haven't. I wouldn't even have Pogba at the club on 10k a week.

We need to go back to the basics and build a squad from scratch. I was listening to the TAA interview before the CL where the interviewer is saying you've achieved a lot in your career at 23, does that make you relax a bit more then he responded' no way, Milner and Hendo' would give me a rollicking.. Or something like that... Can you imagine Pogba having that impact on our young players?

Got to the basics. Get rid of players who don't want to be here. Players with no fight in them. Then invest in that attribute that we sorely lack. We have some good players(about 6 of them) that's a starting point. And our suffering of the past few years, has taught us patience... At least I hope so, because it will take at least 2 seasons if things are being done right, for us to resemble a solid champions league team and signing back players like Pogba is not one of those ways.

I totally understand why so many are losing the love for the game at the moment. You got people barely affording to eat and put fuel in their car and your watching this prick dismiss 300k per week as a nothing offer, while he prances around in designer clothes, fast cars and yachts. Totally out of touch and tone deaf.

Exactly, you dont know what his add ons are though.
Depending on which report you believe. Mostly reported the add ons included signing on fees and performance related bonuses which makes the overall package much more attractive than our offer. He must have agreed the terms prior to announcing leaving us and produced the Pogmentary belittling our "nothing offer".

His basic salary is 150k a week, even if he has bonuses, its not going to be double.

Also, even in United's contract, every player has bonuses anyway.

He has signing on fees too as free agent. Performance related bonuses could be quite significant depending on what he agreed on.
Also, I think for us there will be a pay cut or something because we are not in CL. Hence, this also affects Pogba wages if he stayed.

Yes, signing on fee would have applied with United too. Also, fabrizio reported he was offered 350k a week, so even if it was a pay cut would be 300k which is still double the Juve base offer.

His basic salary is being reported after tax. Not sure about the tax laws in Italy but supposedly they are a lot friendlier to footballers than England.

He will now just try and dine on how bad he has been treated, this is just the start.

He will constantly bleet just like Harry & Meghan Markle about how everyone was against him and how he wasn’t loved at Utd.

I hope everyone turns on him too, he has now put himself up there to be shot at everytime something goes wrong.

Pogba will make more money at Juventus after tax, as simple as that. All this 'He got half the money ManUtd offered' is just nonsense.

What I understand just from headlines is that he was offered 300k. He rejected this because he thought it was derogatory. He then only got offered half that which he has to accept and is now crying in a documentary about it.

Our offer is gross and Juve offer is net. Basically, there is no different for base net salary between Juve and our offer. But Pogba will get signing on fees and performance related bonuses at Juve which i presume works out to be higher than our offer. Hence, "nothing offer" from us.

I really never understood what was special about this clown.
I was disappointed when he left initially because he looked physically strong for his age and he scored a few crackers in the reserves and we had an aging midfield at the time.
He found his niche in Italy with the slower paced game and carried on scoring crackers but we typically overpaid by about 40mil to bring him back and it has never really worked out.
He must have people around him that pump him up to have such an inflated ego but it is all good now as he is no longer at the club.

Give a player 50k a week with bonuses based on performances and winning trophies up to 300k, watch him work bloody hard.

Give a player £150k - £300k a week, plus bonuses for performances and winning trophies, watch him stroll around the pitch and take 3 holidays to dubai during the season.

If his basically salary is 8 million euros net at Juve... it would be the equivalent of earning approx. £250k a week gross in the Premier League.

Obviously you don't know what signing on fees or add-ons there are to take the earnings above what we offered.

Absolute scumbag. A leech. A bad apple. A wrong un'. A cancer in a dressing room. Fergie had this lads number in 2010.. if Fergie was still the manager no way we would have re-signed Pogba. A Mourinho Flop that will stain and leave a black mark on his managerial career. I'm on the Clubs side when it comes to Pogba.. of course I don't condone the racial abuse towards him and his family.

He hasn't helped himself in terms of his arrogant behaviour and distain for a club and fans who gave him his Big Break.

Pogba has just burnt any bridges he had left at United; no ambassadorial or coaching role or any legends contract after finishing his career. Idiot. I thought Pogba and his agents was meant to be career savvy!? Just dumb:rolleyes::lol:

Juve better be careful and watch the backs, if they are not successful on the pitch (which they might not be now they don't have Pirlo and the other Juve midfielders who babysitted Pogba and gave him a perfect platform to shine) and upset Brand Pogba they might face the same bitterness When he leaves. Any big club will be weary about touching Pogba with a bargepole after these comments. It's like signing a rogue employee who only cares about themselves.. Pogba F.C is a real thing and the scary thing is he believes it!

good riddance to Pogba F.C! Let him take his circus act somewhere else and destroy them from within by corroding the dressing room slowly! The streets won't forget how much of a Flop Pogba was and his attitude and comments towards Manchester United.

Juventus is taking a very high risks with this signing.
High salary, injury prone, inconsistent form, questionable characters/professionalism, lack of motivation, lack of efforts, last big paycheck type of player.

I know I'm not helping...but I just want this thread to die . Each time I see another update or snippet I get quite angry...which is quite weird.

He's gone now, can't we all just focus on being angry in the United transfers thread!

What i don't get is that his documentary was mostly shot in 2021. Allowing time for edits and all that shite to get it on the telly box. This supposed offer and his complaining about it can't be all that recent.

Crazy to think what this sport once represented to the working class. I think we in particular have completely lost touch with our fanbase and our roots.

He already knew he was leaving in 2021 and more or less agreed something in principle with Juve. After that, he was "injured" for major part of last season.

Like I and others said when Jose was sacked, Pogba had to go at that time. Nothing boils my p*ss more than the clowns in our fanbase laughing along with Pogba and his tweets afterwards. He's got away with a lot at this club and the happy-clapper muppets amongst our fans have defended him all the way. Hopefully now they all realise what an absolute tool this lad is, and how stupid they are. They are equally to blame for the lowering in standards at this club. If those involved won't uphold standards then the supporters should be making their voices heard. The 'F off Pogba' chants should have come a years before they did and left the club with no choice.

The Cole thing was always a bit overblown.

He was verbally offered 60k by the owner and then when the written offer came through they'd reduced it to 55k. Obviously still a feckload but Cole was annoyed at being lied to rather than not being paid enough.

The papers obviously framed it as "Cole unhappy with £55k" rather than "Cole unhappy at being lied to by club owner".

I’m so glad that the circus has left town. We need to move on from players like this, everything that’s wrong with modern football.

yes, i was going to add that in my post actually, being a Manchester club is really salt of the Earth, working class roots yet the players are millions of miles from that. It’s totally unrelatable these days.. whereas back in the 90s for example, we felt a connection to the players, even though they were famous and wealthy they felt semi normal and had a ounce of humility about them. There’s a total disconnect happening more and more in football, maybe social media is some part to blame for it.. but also the money involved has gone bonkers. Hopefully it gets better.....
