Pre season training starts in a week, which is all a bit pointless if we are planning to make significant changes, particularly in the engine room in central midfield.
But our targets won't be here on day 1 of preseason. They have had internationals

When is Frenkie back from holidays and which of our players are and aren't starting training next week?

EDIT: There was no need for that from me, sorry. As far as I'm aware the players who played Nations League have been given the first two weeks of pre-season off and even if we got FDJ in now he'd be given the same treatment.
I’m guessing it will be all of the players not involved in the pointless internationals.

Gotta be the payment structure. We're very likely to pay their price but haggling over down payment & achievable add-on's. We were probably going to pay the full price from the beginning but were trying to enhance the financial position.

I believe we walked away from the mad money they wanted for Sancho the first year and got his price down the second. Bruno I'm fairly sure we didn't pay the asking price. You haven't answered any of my questions either. Oh and enlighten me on how our rivals don't negotiate and how negotiating a deal isn't professional.
We walked away because we found out he signed for an extra year. They had every right to ask £100+ so we waited a year. I’m sure we paid Bruno asking price. Based off memory I could be wrong.

Liverpool and City have done their primary business and if Abramovich was still at Chelsea, they would too.

History shows us that we get our signings in at the end of the window, which is what I meant when I said professional. Of course you negotiate but since we can still only complete one signing at a time, I feel we would run more efficiently if we dealt with our primary targets early, like our rivals.

All you see everyday is paper talk. You don’t get that with City or Liverpool. They negotiate a lot better than we can.

How long was we linked with Nunez?….just to hear one day Liverpool are in for him and a week later signing was completed.

Just to add, I’ll be surprised if Barca don’t get exactly what they want for Frenkie.

See this is probably because your timelines/bias is towards united related news. Liverpool were linked with Nunez for a good while. Transfers (partly) drag for us because we are totally and completely invested.

The deal died when that news came out but we were never paying 120m for him which was the asking price.

Liverpool and City got one first team player in each, haven't they? Haaland was probably a done deal ages ago and he had a release clause so it's not even remotely comparable and Liverpool were linked with Nunez way back.

United transfer news sells and we all lap it up so the papers and ITKs talk shit constantly. That's nothing new.

It looks like the Frenkie deal could be done by the end of the month anyway. It seems quite close. It's also been reported that we are working on deals for Eriksen, were we've made him an offer, and Antony/Martinez so things do seem to have moved on from the one deal at a time nonsense.
