Barca will wait until the final minute and rely on the cash filled english club to pay the differed wages (by increasing the agreed fee obviously as a workaround)

Our only risk is if Barca find a way (scheme, loophole, funds, etc.) to ensure they stay within limits even without selling FDJ
I don’t think we will play that game. We have agreed a deal with Barca and it’s up to them to honour the deal as agreed and sort their differences with the player. Now the second lever is pulled, I think they will get a move on so they can register their new precious without selling much more of the Crown Jewels!

Reports saying he doesn't want to join United are surely false.
Why would we be trying so hard for someone who doesn't want to join, especially with Ten Hag in charge. He will have spoken to De Jong since they have worked together so well in the past.
It has to be the wages issue.
You know, I don’t think we are ‘trying so hard’ - we agreed a deal and are chill about it, just waiting for the problem to resolve. We’ve seen JM and RA move on to negotiate and seal Martinez from Ajax, and I genuinely think the club is happy how thinks are and confident that the player is ours.

Patience young muppet...
I need some excitement, we're yet to have an auntie's tweet or see him on holiday with a United player. Not even a liked tweet hinting at something.

Frenkie is starving my muppetry.

They'll struggle under Xavi with their transfer business as it is. RM will dominate the league for the next few seasons at least.
Totally agree. Replaced one lunatic in Bartomeu with another in Laporta. If I was a Barca fan, I'd actually want to rely on La Masia and attempt a "Busby Babes" type revival.

But nah, they've done the tried and tested method for fecking up in signing a shit load of players they can't actually afford.

Can't be a yearly thing, they are at 25% of their revenue already, there's a pretty hard limit into how much they can actually sell and still operate. This is already in last ditch territory.

Also, they definitely won't dominate. They just got humiliated last season, there is nothing to suggest that Xavi is some coaching mastermind, and they signed.... Christensen? Kessie (who is not a midfielder they needed)? 34 year old Lewandowski? Raphinha where they have Dembele?

Even when you go man for man and compare them to the actual top clubs in europe, they hardly have any players that get into City or Liverpools teams ffs, not to mention the vast coaching gap. My guess is they are still banking on the super league bailing them out, because this current plan is suicide as they definitely don't have enough to actually be successful in europe.
Again, totally agree with what you've said and I do think they're blindly banking on the Super League. Will they survive until it becomes politically viable to even raise the prospect of a Super League is the question.

However, on the yearly thing - surely the next stage is to actually sell part of the club? Can see them getting desperate in a year when they've fecked it again.

To be fair we are on tour down under, and he is on tour in the states so that kinda thing seems to be on hold.
Wouldn't say on hold as I imagine talks will still be happening, especially with Kounde hanging in the balance and Barca seemingly wanting him.

I think things will move forward a bit soon, at least I hope so. If the news of Xavi talking to the player is true, then things might move quickly

It's all good and well muppetting away on a forum, but seriously, if you guys had to bet hard-earned cash and the odds were evens, what would you bet on FdJ coming to Utd?
Seeing as I don't have a lot of money and a family to look after, I'd not be able to bet much, but I'd put a good £50 or so on him coming. Not much I know, but family and all.

The players we want are hard to get because they are elite. How many players have Forest signed for £50m+?
You seem to miss the fact we have already signed 3 players. Forest can sign 11 players because they are mostly free signings and championship players. Context here is important.again we wan quality over quantity to improve our squad, not just bodies in the building like Forest.
yes I see we signed three players. And are they all the elite type you want? If you think that, I suggest watching Salford instead of us this season. Forest have responded to their manager's wishes and done it speedily. The same cannot be said of our comedy duo - no matter what way you try to spin it
