You guys are easily embarrassed, let him join Chelsea, if a player didn’t want to join us and ended up joining another team it’s no loss to us, he didn’t value us enough, we don’t need any more of that. At this point it’s all speculation and he could well still come here but if he doesn’t don’t lose your minds over it.
Not a question of pride, more a huge issue that all our rivals who finished above us have had better windows than us. If De Jong ends up at Chelsea, we'll have been outperformed by every single top club in the window. All during arguably the most pivotal window we've had since Fergie left. Got to feel for ETH.

Thats not going to happen. EtH is dead set on this happening.

It's like the whole de Jong prefers Chelsea etc, how do we know? He's not said anything to anyone in the media at all, and i seriously doubt he'd be telling people what he'd prefer knowing it would likely be leaked. My guess is Barca is saying he prefers Chelsea to get them involved and start a bidding war, as they know United REALLY want him and would likely pay a bit more.

Still, thats my opinion, i really don't know whats going on as does no one else here
Mitten has spoken to his agent and his agent said to him “has anyone considered what the player wants here?” When he asked him about moving to United. So people do know what he wants and where he would prefer to live.

The Athletic are genuinely as bad as the rest of them these days. It was a great idea when it started but they’ve succumbed to clickbait/aggregator pieces like the rest of journos because not enough people were paying for the subscription.

Basically, he’s being forced out but doesn’t want to move and, even if he can be convinced to leave, he will want his money. Until that impasse is cleared, he might as well be linked with Bognor Regis for all we care.
They really arent. Which news did they give thats false? Aggregator depend on Athletic to peddle their tweets.

Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s not true
You can't say that it is true though... you know about as much as i do, which absolutely nothing at all.

Everything we say is pure guesswork and speculation. Even those that are reporting on it are taking what their sources say as truth, even though they probably don't know everything or are being told what to say

Not about not liking it, it’s the whole tone of the tweet. Reads like an itk parody. He could have just said ‘ I’ve been told Frenkie prefers London to Manchester’ but the whole ‘I was at the game and third hand through the grapevine’ stuff just sounds a bit fishy to me.

When people don’t like something they read, they immediately attack the credibility of the people who wrote it. The Athletic are as reliable as it gets.

Feel for ETH? His obsession with de Jong has us in this mess.

I still believe we are going to get him. But better be prepared for the alternatives just in case.
If ETH really really wants him, which seems to be, then pay for a bit more and get him.
The thing that is missing in most of these little titbits is information about the source. They don’t need to name the source but could tell us if it is a player, a club official or whatever. He just got told (third hand, no less). Could be anybody or nobody. I don’t say any of it is false, it is just not reliable.

If he seriously tweeted that people would be saying “so you read it on a tweet like the rest of us”. Stating he was in Miami with Barcelona gives his statement credibility as we can assume he spoke to someone connected to the club/player.

Chelsea’s name is being used I suspect by Barca to try and get us to pay more
Some of the comments that have come from Barcelona, are surely not helping their own cause, if that is to offload FDJ.
I mean, "leaking" Chelsea's name into the mix, might ruffle feathers at United, but equally, it's likely to make de Jong think, that's a viable option for him, so he is more reluctant to join United.

Same with Laporta saying that FDJ is an important player, and is in Xavi's plans, and they want to keep him.
There might be reasons for saying that, but again, it only entrenches the player's stance, that he won't leave Barcelona.

I understand that this is a game of positioning, but in my view, Barcelona are painting themselves into a corner, if they do actually want to sell FDJ.

My personal opinion is that our window is the best, not because of the players but because of the manager. EtH will be a huge difference to us this year and while we all want new signings, I do to, I still feel we will be very good this year and make Top 4 because of EtH. Once we get into the swing of competitive football and not this two teams for 45 mins each preseason we will see the real United. Can’t wait for Brighton.

BREAKING NEWS - SKY SP0RTS

Chelsea target Mikky has agreed a move to London, after retiring from hockey and Instagram, in order to open a Blue Butterfly shop. The Dutch ace, wildly regarding by footballing experts on RedCafe as "proper fit", has been the focus of this summer's transfer rumours for several clubs. But Sky Sp0rts can now confirm that the sun and indie-pap of London has gained preference over the rain and shoegazer of Manchester.

"Yeehah!" Cried out Chelsea owner Todd Boehly, as he fired his six shooter at some nearby pigeons. "Them gals gonna sell them blue butterflies!" As part of the deal her partner Frenkie de Jong will join Chelsea as a midfielder or something.

Eric Ten Hag of United was angered by the news. "They feck us. They don't believe in the process and now we're fecked. Because RedCafe feck the deal up once again because they lose faith. Mikky check online. United fans not believe. She think feck it, might as well go to London instead. Sell blue butterflies. Now we have nobody to sell red butterflies. So feck RedCafe. Bellends."
Love Shoegaze.

He has already said this, straight from the horses mouth? Didn't he say something like "It'll be hard for him to get in the midfield but he'll be good at centre back"? Basically the ultimate disrespect. Might as well have told him he'll be good mopping the bogs.
Especially considering that they still want Bernado added to their MF, and have just signed Kounde at CB.
Where is the space for De Jong..?

Every outlet will have reliable and unreliable reporters. They're not as reliable as it gets, as i'm sure they've gotten things wrong in the past. They're going by what their sources tell them, which may or may not be true. its for the reporters to put it out there and hope that it's right.

Have they? The manager has his targets to strengthen and the club is acting on them. LB wasn’t on many people list but Malacia was available and ETH wanted him so we got him. Forget what our rivals are doing, trust the manager and look at the improvements we have seen in our play already - even without worldie signings. The future is bright my friend.

I saw the interview with Mitten where he said that and I think that quote was not his agent but a Barca club official. Either way it was typical of the “news” that is spouted. It’s just a question and contains no information whatsoever.

Thats the look for all these Youtube journos now. You look like you are a workaholic; look more credible than someone with a beer in his hand and having a swig. And in some countries having a mobile phone means you are successful.

I like it.

I am debating on using this same pose for my Linkedin profile now. Maybe for Tinder too.

Get a job and get laid.... what else do you want in life?

But if I can suggest something to Romano, he needs to add a notebook to his profile. I can cant trust a fella who doesn't have a notebook for work. You just don't look a serious person without the notebook.

Posed photos of Important People on the phone went through a period of being all the rage in the early 70s, though of course back then the subject would be sat at his desk and the phone would not be cordless, let alone mobile. I think people thought it gave them an aura of Look How People Need To Consult Me And Ask For My Advice/Permission.

Of course it became so ubiquitous it started to get mocked, and after a year or two was quietly dropped. What goes around comes around…

Said it before, saying it again.

It doesn't matter what happens from here on, the nature of the saga has put a damper on the excitement for me. The uncertainty about whether he wanted to be here or not will linger for a while, and anytime he has a bad day or there are rumours about him being unhappy, the concern will always be there.

Good player, but not worth the hassle.

This is going to be a long day so you might as well watch a 9 hour long video of United’s first 2000 Premier League goals.

Clearly, we are heading towards larger phones. I think these YT journos need to invest in some serious phones going forward.

Serious, man on the move Transfer guru.

Spanish press: Chelsea are interested
De Jong Muppets: I won't believe that until Chelsea reporters are saying it

Whether its true or not, I used to really admire this guy what he did as a player, then his punditry was top drawer but he is developing into something quite nauseating. That tweet quoting sky sports (paper section) is just about feeding his narrative against the current ownership.

Now I'm totally against the ownership but he is deliberately inciting the fanbase with tweets like this. If he is that bothered about the club then him and his rich mates need to put their money where there mouth is, rather than trying to sabotage the club it's pathetic. We all need a functioning club after the Glazers have gone.

His commentary when Liverpool gave us a good hiding last season showed his true colours. Absolute tosspot who loves sound of his own voice.

There isn't any, all the noise coming from Xavi/Laporta indicates this. Rubbish headline.
2nd August 2022 or 30 Days to Window closing:

Xavi: I want Frenkie to stay. Key, key player but if Chelsea tweeted that they are interested, there ain't much I can do. They are not slaves.

Laporta: Frenkie is my godson. He is family. He must stay but only if he takes a big pay cut to sponsor his new god-brothers like Lewan and Silva.

Why has it become so controversial to say a player prefers to stay. They may be cnuts but they are his club. Don't have to skewer everyone suggesting he might have a hint of loyalty to them. Maybe the several sources aren't lying. It gets way too defensive in here over a transfer that may or may not materialise. It's corroborated by different sources that it's more than just the money factor. At least it could mean he isn't a merc.
