remember when Ajax wanted €80m when we were first interested in late June / early July? I hate how this club is run so much.

Look we can't dwell on that anymore, we all know we are run like a clown show hence why we still have holes in first XI

Doesn't get more reliable than him regarding Dutch football

Done dealio
Hamsterlaar been fastest in several instances with the dutch football transfew news. A king among hamsters.

reality is we can't go a season with Elanga as first team regular starter. We are facing this if we don't buy. We also need a striker as Martial's fitness eb

So you are worried about him doing the same in 3/4 years time whilst we have players who are still here, not striking but walking around the pitch for years not putting a shift in. We seem to be offering Martial an improve contract to " protect asset" on what actual evidence?. Get Antony and been done with it. If they have money for martial, we have money for Antony.

I'm not worried about it. I just don't like this side of the modern game.

We are building such an amazing collection of unlikeable cnuts for opposition fans (as opposed to us). I am so close to subbing to a paid service to watch our games this year in 4K. All we need now is a decent forward and I’m pulling the trigger.

Osmihen could have that vibe

No Different to Nunez and others
Yeah, but it's going to be tough for him as well. Maybe slightly less so because once Liverpool get firing there will be goals on a plate, he can probably only be a relative disappointment rather than a complete disaster. As we've seen with Sancho it's not necessarily easy to come into our forward positions and fire.

Orny’s about to talk on NBC/USA about the transfer market on PL Mornings in a few. Lets see if he talks about this/other United transfers.

He has all the talent, but he's inconsistent and prone to losing his head and getting frustrated. He punched Malacia in a game where Malacia tore into him (legitimately) a few times and should've been send off. If he can mature and keep his cool he can achieve anything. His highs are extremely high, just not frequent enough.

And I don't hate Ajax, that's such a strong word, I don't mind seeing them fail, that's all. When reading the caf and the average United fan's opinion on Liverpool my "hatred" is non existent :)
Thanks for that. So basically a huge talent who is still raw. I can see some amazing performances but also some frustrating ones.

And when I used the term hatred, I meant as a rival fan. I do get hate is a strong word and probably dislike would have been better.

Anybody who pushes this hard to join United is very welcome to me. Worth every penny!

Will be a fans favourite for sure.

Really happy that this looks done after it seemed like unlikely at some point. Last game really highlighted our deficiency in attacking options. While still an enormous fee, I hope that the €99 million is true as the press would love to put the "€100 million man" tag every time he has a bad game. As long as Antony doesn't let the reports get in his head, he'll be fine.

He’s going to put in a proper shift. After watching Rashford jog around the pitch aimlessly for the last couple years, that alone will win him fans at Old Trafford.

I would've been worried about the fee if Antony was one of our first signings. Because then it would've given the impression to me that we might not prioritise a DM. But with Malacia, Eriksen, Martinez and Casemiro in the bag, pay the money is what I say because we need a RWF and it balances things out in attack.

I think we're a creative CM, Striker, RB and a GK away from being a very competitive team in all competitions.

The fee is the fee though. They’ll always be more scrutiny on United. Just how it is.

Not sure on the issue when you consider the market. Nunez is a good comparison even if he cost slightly more and is a year older.

I wish there was more options for 4k here in the US.

Maybe Dalot can finally become that talented RB he looked at Porto, totally agree about the other three positions though

First thing he talked about was this deal. Says its done pretty much. Said “rising to 100 mil pounds” though, weird but likely slip of tongue. Also says liverpool are looking to add a midfielder but he has no names, says chelsea will get fofana + still looking into…FDJ…

True, but individual scrutiny is greater when expectation is set by a fee.

I don't think Harry Maguire would remotely be viewed in the same way if we procured his services for 30 million quid. Perhaps not the best example as he's captain, but I believe it makes a difference to how they're covered and unfortunately some players don't handle it as well as others.

If a Brazilian lad from the Dutch league comes for 30 million I don't think it attracts much attention at all and it probably gives them a lot more time to bed in without mass focus on them. Whereas with this it's just inevitable that much is going to be expected in a short space of time.
