After already criticising his looks and career, it's not that much of a jump to conclude he meant what he said exactly how most of us have interpreted it except for the usual suspects of course.

Exactly, he claimed he is jealous, then had a joke about his looks, but will prob get told that it was a joke and wasn't actually implying he is ugly because he smirked.......the same way he not implying he's a rat either because he laughed,

Some scenes last 2 nights watching the Ronaldo defence being laid out

Old Trafford needs a Rooney song based on his new rat identity and also the fact that he is an actual club legend.

fecking hell lad, it's not that bad. Losing 4-0 to Brentford or the annual spanking by City are much worse than this, and I wouldn't even call those "dark days".
Might be exaggeration but it’s really bad. Defeats are part and parcel in football but him sitting there and basically shitting on our manager, Rooney, the whole club is just humiliating as a fan especially from a player like him.

He wants empathy from everyone but doesn’t have any for anyone. How does that work?

The moon gave me flowers for funerals to come.
Going to have an amazing world cup he said.

Watched the full interview, The snippets during the week came across as a lot worse and morgan is orchestrating the interview (sh!t stirring at times).
Interesting that he (Ronaldo) didnt completely rule out still playing for us but the vibe I got was we have to change our style to accommodate him as he still believes he has something to offer but that aint going to happen.

His time at Utd was always doomed once we got ETH as Ronaldo would never suit our new style of play, hopefully he is moved on as its best for both parties as Erik is going to restore order and build something special here.

Losing a fecking football match which in itself is entertainment is worse than his interview? Football must be the most important thing in your life then

Oh I'd absolutely love Argentina to win the world cup now with Messi being the star of the tournament. Hahahaha

So if he wins the World Cup with Portugal do we congratulate him? I mean the club.

And this interview is about what? World hunger? Racism? War in Ukraine?

It is also about football. Blimey...
I would change 5 of these interviews for 3 points against Brentford or City. Ronaldo hit new low here, not us

Thing is the media always use his name for clicks and I'm sure he knows that, I wouldn't be surprised if 90% of stories are BS . He could have just nipped it all in the bud at the time, but he kept silent which fueled the rumours more.
Yeah, but so could the club. And 19/20 times they would.

Imagine if every big news outlet following this team was duped into believing that De Gea requested a transfer — while it was totally untrue — would the club be silent about it?

Even if sports journalists aren’t that careful, I bet our PR guy got loads and loads of calls about this report. For it to stand, the reply must have been “no comment”, instead of just shutting it done.

If this is true — I 100% think it puts Ronaldo’s actions in a different light. It means that he wanted to stay and we wanted to clear house and get rid of him.

If he then walks out against Tottenham for example, it’s just a very different context. Instead of it being “he doesn’t want to be here, he wanted out, nobody wanted him, he isn’t good enough and then cries about it” it’s “the club want to get rid of him but they want to make it seem like it’s him that wants to leave the club, when he in fact turned down several offers to make, then it does seem like they are almost baiting him to flip by saying he needs a preseason when others don’t, sending him on for 3 mins against Tottenham” etc etc.

Mind you:
(a) If Ronaldo doesn’t want to work with ETH, if he goes “oh you think you found a Coke in the desert” when ETH draws up his Xs and Os — I 100% support us getting rid of him. But it’s a really crappy way to do it by making it out like Ronaldo is the one requesting a transfer if he isn’t.
(b) It just don’t sound very credible, does it? I am not saying it’s true, Ronaldo could be lying.

->Ultimately it just confuses me, why this is not the big topic of conversation after the interview? Unless I just completely misundstood what he said — but others have confirmed that they interpreted it the same way — it is the ONLY real news item to come out of this interview. Everyone thought Ronaldo wanted out to score goals in the CL, while it was the club that was trying to kick him out and he wanted to stay.

So 2 days ago it was maybe he'll come across better when we see the whole interview but actually he came even worse.

Rooney if he's smart he won't reply to the cnut.

To conclude with Ronaldo. I don’t hate him like other fans do. Still a legend. Probably would still like him to win the World Cup. But he has mental problems and he does need to go.
Strange take after all he's said and done. You're right about the mental problems though.

It's his idiot fanbase. CR is a kid that was never allowed a day of accountability. For like 11 months we've been trying to curb his bigger than the manager behaviour but were called haters. Basic accountability would have stopped him staining his legacy like this. Instead fans and club legends had a go at managers and said Ronaldo would be Ronaldo. You can tell he thought everyone would be on his side again.

I’m begging for a club statement in the morning of terminated contract without pay.
I actually want us to hold him to his contract now and suspend him from training. His goal is to force a move now, he’s breached his contract (that part is confirmed) so we could terminate his contract but in reality the Glazers will want some money for him in Jan. Honestly feck him. He’s a child so treat him like one, don’t give him what he wants and just run down his deal.

He wanted to play me for 3 minutes. Whoever he is. ME. I am Ronaldo. I AM RONALDO. Nobody plays Ronaldo for 3 minutes. Does he not know who I am. I AM RONALDO. RONALDO. I AM RONALDO.

Wasn't that bad in hindsight, read much worse on the caf daily. Though the pearl clutching is pretty funny.

He definitely needs to leave asap. Hopefully we get a good striker in.

This is just not true — like check the Ronaldo to Bayern situation just recently. There is a report claiming that Bayern met with Mendes talking about Ronaldo — and they instantly shuts It down.

Are you telling me that if say the entire football media 100% incorrectly were writing about Harry Kane requesting a move from Tottenham, with all Tottenham fans believing it, Tottenham wouldn’t tell a reporter “this is 100% news to us, we don’t know where this is coming from?” And just shut it down.

In the grand scheme of things, this interview (football related as well) has very little impact on our lives, if any. So same thing applies.
