I love the swagger with which he misses. If he was clinical he'd be right up there on goals with Haaland, as he always finds himself in the right position. Next year he may come good, but if not, i think theyll ship him out

I still think he'll be fine. People are talking like he hasn't scored all season. He's got bags of pace, runs all day, gets into great positions. It could easily turn for him in terms of converting more.

He’s an odd one. He’s a bit crap but I see him scoring a lot of goals with Liverpool.

The player he reminds me of the most is Rashford, both are quick, strong and tall but struggle with their finishing. It will be interesting to see if either of the two can become that bit more clinical. If either of them can, they will be unstoppable!
Rashford's a superior finisher.

I think there's a good chance he'll score 30+ in all comps already this season tbf. (Scored 34 last season btw)
He's actually getting the most chances per 90 out of every player in the top 5 leagues this season (both for shots/90: 5,81 and npxG/90: 0,94), so the only thing holding him back right now is his finishing. This season in the PL he's underperformed his xG by 22%, while he outscored his xG last season in Liga Nos by 45%, so his bad finishing started when he arrived at Liverpool. Hopefully it'll last forever, but there is nothing from his past stats indicating that his bad finishing this season will (last forever).

There is not many similarities with Lukaku at all either (Lukaku's had a very good career both for clubs and country to be fair aswell), Nunez just get's into good positions a lot more often:
Lukaku has averaged 0,47 npxG/90 the last 8,5 seasons (top season 0,74) in the PL and Serie A and is a decent finisher (around his xG) compared to Nunez' 0,94 this season.
Nunez is also annoyingly productive for his teammates with 0,41 xA/90 in the PL so far this season compared to Lukaku's 0,16 (avg. last 8,5 seasons) and career best season 0,26.

As much as I hate it, his numbers shows that he's a top striker and (with Jota and Diaz injured) there's no way I'll risk not having him in my FPL team.
You’d have a point if the eye test didn’t show that he’s not just “unlucky“ with his finishing, he’s geniunely a poor finisher lacking any sort of technical guile or composure.

The x/a and x/g just show he gets into a ton of dangerous positions which is obvious but really more of a testament that Liverpool is much more creative than people think instead of Núñez being a huge danger man. Put Suarez in the same positions and he’s already scored 25 and assisted 10 by this point. The numbers will always favor Núñez but they should be taken in context

I’m glad Liverpool blew their transfer budget on him. Made a few odd signings since Edwards left and they overpaid here by roughly double.

Rashford had a crisis of confidence last season, he seems to be mostly over that now and there's nothing wrong with his finishing again. Didn't you see his goal on Wednesday?

Rashford would never have missed those chances Donkey Kong missed on Thursday.

Technique is so bad that you question how he got this far in his career. He has good movement though, he will score 15 goals or so this season but will cost Liverpool some valuable games

So far his goal won us a community shield (Haaland cost City that game). And his goals/assists have won us some crucial points in the challenge for top four. Lest everyone forgets, it's still his first season in a new country and league regardless of the price tag.

Did we not sell Lukaku for the same reason!?

Shitty first touch and miss alot of chances..
Yep, apparently needing a modern striker to play in a fluid, attacking way only applies when it’s criticising one of our own

Nobody cares about the shield and I'm sorry your top four challenge? You're meant to be this juggernaut of a team with the best of everything in many positions why are you not going for the title?

Also is Haaland and his 24 goals in December not also in a new country and league?

We will be a juggernaut again next season when we spend north of half a billion pounds in the summer (Bellingham, Enzo, others) thanks to incoming oil money. Right now our midfield is old and fecked while we are still a proper football club, run with proper incoming money.

You might not care about the community shield but it doesn't change the fact Haaland fecked it up while Nunez was the game changer.

The header aimed at the corner flag which hit Dias’ arm was next level I’ll admit

The whole team is struggling tbf and that impacts the player too especially due to his price tag, once things get more organized he’ll be good.

You're right. City will be furious they went Haaland over Nunez because you've won the....charity shield

It's a strange place to argue from after that horror show from Nunez literally two days ago. Haaland scored and Nunez missed what, three, big chances and got Liverpool knocked out?

4 almost identical misses, about a metre wide of the post each time.
I don't know many players with that level of consistent accuracy

Haaland didn’t do much in that game himself, in the end they were both responsible for one goal( assist and goal)

Haaland is outstanding and Nunez cant compete with his output. I'm not arguing that. I was responding to the guy that said he reckons Nunez will only get 15 goals and cost us games. I retorted with the charity shield as an example of strikers costing (or winning) games. It happens.

This isn’t that crazy as an opinion. Nunez has 9 goals and 3 assists in 19 appearances this season.

United’s top scorer is Rashford with…9 goals and 3 assists in 20 appearances. Rashford is also two years older.

Nunez clearly has issues with technique but he’s been no worse than United’s best output this season.
