With Fernandez and Bellingham looking Chelsea/Real bound, this could end up being a shootout between us and Pool for him.
If Enzo doesn’t rush in January and waits till the summer he’ll have a better offer from a club playing in Europe. As for de Jong I think if we finish in the CL he’ll choose us even if the scousers do to. He loves Ten Hag.

Is Fernandez to Chelsea not all but done?

Surely he would look at casemiro and say I want some of that as well.

I heard/saw reporting that him and the bald deity aren't that close. Which one is true?

Who knows really, I think one thing is easy to see though. ETH gets the best out of his players, all the United players seem to have gone from a 5 to a 7 or 8 right now.

I think he would get Frenkie on a level we haven't seen since he was at Ajax in the CL campaign.

He should be looking at United for sure, him and Casemiro with a WC striker up top, imagine.
I've gotten quite ambivalent on him personally after the summer fiasco but seeing how no one else fits his profile we probably should go after him again this summer.

Hopefully the ten hag connection is enough to sway him over with cl football also guaranteed.

I don't care much for FDJ after the summer either, I trust ETH though, whatever he wants do it.

Seems to slowly find his footing there.
Busquets will be gone soon so he'll finally have that position all for himself although a midfield of pedri gavi de jong may be too light physically speaking.

If Barca try to force him out again, that's what matters.

We dodged a bullet when Frenkie abided by his WAG’s insistence that her standard of living be maintained in Barcelona. He’s solid enough but is nowhere close to Casemiro.

Casemiro was definitely the player we needed more. They’re not really interchangeable; more complimentary - Casemiro with FDJ would be supreme. Wouldn’t swap Case for FDJ (only a crazy person would).

They need money. Selling us Frenkie for 80M and then swapping Kessie for Brozovic and a random backup DM on a free makes them money and doesn't really weaken them on the pitch for the next 2-3 years, if Brozovic ages okay, and all their moves are essentially selling future value to keep the ship afloat in the present.

Hasn't been a huge Barca to Madrid move since Figo, but if Bellingham wants to go back to England instead of Madrid, I could see Gavi going to Madrid for 150M at some point to bail them out, things might get really dire financially. Or City coming to their rescue with an offer like Pedri for Bernardo Silva and 100M. Maybe secure some soft power for Txiki or another fella from that cadre to get back into power eventually at Barcelona.

Gavi to Madrid? Pedri to City? Barcelona is not going to sell its young players who are performing at a high level.

And Barcelona need the money to sign a right-back and a pivot but they are not going to sell their stars for it.

How is it any more lightweight than Buswuets, Iniesta, and Xavi? They’re almost carbon copies in stature.

Busquets would put in the dirty work and had great defensive acumen, de jong doesn't have that at all and usually struggles when deployed as the sole dm.

Barcelona don't have the need to sell him. Another thing is that if a good offer arrives sell him to sign Zubimendi (€60M) and Foyth (€40).

Barcelona will first try to sell other players before FDJ.

Not particularly interested in him anymore. He didn’t seem desperate to join us.

I hope we make mincemeat out of Barca in the Europa.

Been disappointed with him every game I’ve seen him in this season, and that’s quite a few.
I agree, I’ve been watching him closer since the summer drama, and he is consistently the least impressive in the Barcelona midfield.

Which is not to say he is bad, but it’s clear why Barcelona would sell him. Any club thinking of bidding should not be making him one of their top earners.

After watching the WC I would prefer Enzo over FdJ.

Not that FdJ is bad. But Enzo is better.

He’s a fantastic player.

He will challenge Eriksen for that spot and will grab it, he’s got the right attitude and would suit us perfectly.

With his passing he is similar to Kroos and had close to 12 passes into final third per game which is ridiculous , also he is progressive type of midfielder who can compliment Case dribbling progression, in terms his style of play is close to De Jong, scores good goals too from long range which makes him a threat similar to Paul Scholes.

He will adapt easily and secure his place as a starter very quick.

In 1 sentence he can pass like Xavi and defend like Gattuso.

Enzo is still unpolished, in the right hands he could become the very best and yes he would be perfect for us. He will press the shit out of opponents, he will not be afraid to put in forward pass or even shoot from outside of the box. Wherever he ends up, you will hear Enzo Fernandez's name a lot in the next 10 years.

This is his stats in the World cup final from OptaJoe -
Enzo Fernández led all players for touches (118), successful passes (77) and tackles (10) in the final. His 10 tackles were the most of any player in a World Cup final since Gennaro Gattuso in 2006 (15)

I am posting a screenshot from his Benfica stats too.

Cannot put an image so i give you a link - https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FihZvolWQAAI9Af?format=png&name=small

Lets hope we go for him in the summer

Frenkie hasn't done anything that suggests we need him, he has just got into a rebuilding Barca. He hasn't done anything since moving to Barcelona.

I spent too long invested in him in the summer to a point where I do not want him anymore. We should not be spending 2 years convincing a player to join us.

We have a team now that is passionate about United, would hate to add a player who doesn't want to be here.

Nah hes genuine WC midfielder. Shame that Barcelona are so stacked in midfield: pedro, gavi, basquetes. As at any other team the midifield would be build around him.

Hes a unique midfielder with a ability to dribble past two/three players and break a press.

Tifo i r l did analysis of him awhile back and the stats showed just how good he is.

Alongside casemiro, we would have a double pivot of incredible ability.

I can't see De Jong wanting to join us now when he didn't want to last season. Kessie looks like he will be sold too which makes more room for him.

De Jong/ Enzo/ Bellingham

We should be in for all 3 of them. Chelsea fecked the Enzo deal hopefully. Liverpool will feck the Bellingham deal if they don't qualify for the top 4 which is looking likely.

Enzo and Bellingham seem more available than De Jong so with the trajectory of our club now and with new owners incoming. I'd want the current management and the incoming owners to prioritise a statement signing of Enzo Fernandez or Jude Bellingham.

We look set for the top 4 at the moment so it's a good time to push for the players and agree personal terms etc.

Enzo is around £100m and Bellingham will probably be more than that but both are worth it for us to have them play in CM. Eriksen can still rotate and also fill in at number 10 too.

My hopes for next season....
