David Silva, pretty sure we had him at OT for a match shortly before he signed for City instead.

Dunno where he would've played under SAF but he'd have beem an amazing signing. Instead he becamse a massive thorn in our side, repeatedly.

Lewandowski. Loads of rumors for him in summer 2012. Ended up getting RvP who obviously gave 1 class season.. but could've had Lewa. Hazard as well. He only went there because they won the CL. Thiago in 2013.

There's been way too many in the last decade, but the biggest ones for me were Sneijder, Modric, Reus and Lewandowski. Two I wished we had gotten but weren't really all that linked to iirc were Isco from Malaga and Eriksen at Ajax and even Tottenham for that matter.

Ronaldinho is the stand out. Kenyon needs firing squad for that mutinous crime.

More recently Donkey and Gakpo obviously

Sneijder. Granted his career took a slow dive after that, I genuinely thought he would have been brilliant under SAF.

Not a player, but I'm still annoyed at Woodward scaring Klopp away with his silly Disneyland pitch.
Never understood why we didnt ask for robben and sneijder to be added to the CR7 deal to madrid. Both were on their way out anyway. Robben and Sneijder would have helped our team alot post CR7.

Benzema looked the next best thing, I think we were fighting to get him but didn't work out.

Modric I thought would be perfect for us, it was also days when our midfield was in deep crisis for a while.

Those two I was right about.

Also, Torres. I was wrong on this one probably.

Edit: Pep is a good shout too.

Ronaldinho - what a ride that would have been.

Loads of others, Gazza definitely and Shearer.

Also, Michael Essien would have been good here had he joined.

I hope I didn’t get kicked out the cafe for this one. Pep.
if he had replaced Fergie and been given all that money we wasted we would have had a much better decade.

So many ones that absolutely shattered me.
Ronaldinho, Benzema, Making Tevez permanent, Thiago Alcantara at Barcelona, David Silva, Gareth Bale, Luka Modric, Hazard, Kroos, Fabregas, Gundogan, Pep Guardiola in 2013.

What a team we could have had back in the 90's but we had this ridiculously low wage structure compared to Serie A and La Liga at the time.

Batigol had everything in my opinion

I was bitterly disappointed that we didn't get Thiago Alcantara in 2013. He was more than willing to join too, but Moyes didn't want him. Twat.

Has to be Kroos for me! Would have been an amazing signing considering how fast the wheels were coming off after Sir Alex! Just imagine a Kroos and Fellaini midfield….

We didn't get him because Pep said he wanted him. Then there was only one place he was gonna go. Moyes or money.

Why wrong on Torres? Genuine world class talent that was ruined by Liverpool.

I was so sure we were getting shearer I cut out his face from his Panini sticker and put it on one of my United swaps so I could have him in the sticker book.

I know we signed Ole and the rest is history, but Shearer would have been a spectacular signing and a club legend.

Robben
Overmars (can't recall if we were in for him but he was a player I really liked)
Shearer
Ronaldinho
Torres (again, dunno if we had interest but I really wanted us to sign him)

My dad told me we'd signed Bergkamp as a joke. I was delighted.

Checked Teletext and nothing. He revealed it to be a wind up about a minute later.

He then signed for arsenal. I got over it.

Benzema, by some stretch for me.
Seeing Ronaldinho was joining Barca was genuinely heartbreaking, especially after losing Beckham a few months earlier
These two stand out for me. When we sold Ronaldo I felt we needed two top players to replace him, a striker and a winger. Benzema seemed like a United striker to me, and Ribery also moved that summer iirc.

Ronaldinho likewise was a blow after losing Becks, plus he was someone who could have made Fergie's early dabble at 4231 more effective. We did sign Ronaldo later that summer and Rooney the year after though so all was well.

There's also about 10 centre mids that spring to mind from 2008 onwards as well. I liked the look of Modric at the Euros before he moved to Spurs in particular. Moyes or LVG supposedly turning down Kroos and Fabregas, Jose not moving for Fabinho, not going for Kante (LVG?), a handful of others too.

Ronaldinho (nothing can top that, broke me)

David silva (was already one of fav players in Spain, was watching Valencia just because of him)

Lucas Moura ( would have been a superstar under Fergie, poor career choice joining psg)

Honourable mentions-
Pavel Nedved
Luka modric
Gareth bale
Thiago alcantara
Toni kroos
Not resigning Tevez

Same here. Genuinely shattered. I believe he would have turned out to be amazing under Fergie.
Yeah, he massively underwhelmed relative to the hype. He was supposed to be a close second to Neymar in terms of Brazilian wonderkids at the time. Makes you wonder how much better he could have been.
