Who thought letting Leicester play in a blue kit, and Coventry in a sightly lighter blue kit was a good idea!?

Leicester are a far better side with Vardy off the pitch,
Didn't he come off the bench for the majority of games last season as well? Not that I don't agree though.

Tell me more about Kaminski. Is he decent?
I think he's good enough for the Premier League, but it will interesting to see how he gets on. All in all I think he did very well for us. His strengths looked to be his reflexes, including his ability to save low shots, and his ability to come off his line for one on one situations. He weaknesses were that he could be prone to lapses in concentration, and his kicking could be wayward.

When he was injured last season and Pears filled in for him, many of our fans were desperate for him to return and regain his place in our team.

Didn't watch the game, only the highlights, but WBA could have easily got two penalties.
They should have one penalty in the first half when Thomas-Asante was barged inside our box, but not a second one. When Molumby's shot cannoned off Rankin-Costello's elbow, he had no time to react that definitely wasn't a handball and penalty IMO.

But overall we were clearly the better team, created more clear cut chances (we had better chances to go 3-1 up than they had to equalise) and our goalkeeper Pears didn't really have that much to do.

I wouldn't expect either team to finish in the top 6. West Brom have looked poor during the past couple of seasons and again yesterday (despite benefitting from parachute payments after yet another Premier League relegation). And I doubt we have the quality or mental toughnessness (I still worry about how our players' heads drop after one big error, bad decision etc.) to make it either.

Nice to see Leeds haven’t addressed any of their problems from last season.

I agree 100%.
We are a better team when Iheanacho starts.
I think you'll see a lot of rotation between them, today was a game for a player with aggression, if Nacho starts that game he gets bullied out of it, better to use him off the bench later today, on other days he'll be the pick to start, should he stay of course

Hard to see other outcome than Southampton and Leicester straight back to the PL.
When results go wrong and confidence is low things like relegation can happen, but I really don't think they were worse than Everton, Bournemouth or Forest.
Playoff spot will be funny although.

Leicester are an interesting one.

If they get promoted this season, you can easily see them finishing top half the year after.

If they miss out, I reckon they end up staying in the Championship for a decade.

Very interesting deadline day signings for Sunderland.

Timothée Pembélé from PSG for €1m and Adil Aouchiche from Lorient (undisclosed but probably not much more than TP). If Mowbray can work his magic as he did with Amad & co. last season Sunderland is definitely a team to watch again this year.

They also signed strikers Luís Semedo (Benfica), Mason Barstow (loan from Chelsea) and Ukraine international Nazariy Rubin (Zorya) in this window.

Add big talents Jobe Bellingham and Chris Rigg and they've got a young exciting team that has the potential to be one of the most entertaining teams in the competition.

Bazunu's shot stopping still is pretty unimpressive

Such a strange match. Southampton 69% ball possession.

Sunderland don't mind conceding a lot of the possession but they consistently have way more passes forwards than their opponents. When they get the ball they tend to counter fast.

Not a strange at all. Russel Martin loves his team to have possession the problem is he is clueless what to do with it..

Sunderland 5-0 Southampton.

Chris Rigg is one heck of a talent. Very good decision from him to stay at Sunderland.

Southampton have already conceded 16 goals in 6 games! Can't see Martin lasting much longer unless they sort that out soon, I thought they'd come straight back up but promoted sides generally concede less than a goal a game so it's not looking great for them.

He's a poor manager, can't coach a defence at all. I reckon they'd be better off sacking him sooner than later.

I started listening to some EFL podcasts and I was baffled by the hype around Martin, they talked about his appointment like Saints had nabbed Pep or Klopp when he hasn't achieved anything. Even so I wasn't expecting them to be so bad defensively. Whilst we invert 1 full back they invert both, so if you get the ball off them they have huge gaps and cannot cover them he needs to stop being so gung-ho about it and just have some common sense

Despite conceding a million goals so far, Southampton achieve promotion comfortably, quote me on that come the end of the season.

Was hoping a drop down a division would be good for Bazunu, not a great sign that he's still conceding by the shedload.

Well yesterday it was SO obvious wich manager has worked with Guardiola before and wich manager has only watched on tv a game of Peps Barca and decided to copy blatantly everything  Martin is a terrible manager and deserves the sack immediately..

he's facing an onslaught every game they get countered 3/4 on 2 regularly, he did well to keep the score down last night

I wouldn't be putting money on that unless they change managers quickly.
