    Just grab the win. I will be happy with 3 points even if it’s park the bus with zombie passing and a few slices of luck

    Has to be the same team as against Villa. People saying Eriksen and Varane can’t play twice in a week but neither has played much this year. They can handle a double for one week ffs. The alternative is bringing back in McTominay or Amrabat and the return of hoof ball.

    I think this as well but then Eriksen in particular has looked so leggy when he’s played multiple games post the Carroll assassination attempt. I think you have to start same team to reward form and hope we try and play a bit more sensibly, make them chase the ball a lot more and manage how much running we have to do.

    I'm worried about this game. Nottingham Forest just showed against Newcastle that they can really hurt teams on the break. With how ineffective we tend to be at scoring goals, we can't really afford to let in one or two on counter-attacks.

    We need two positionally aware CMs (i.e., not McTominay) and Varane at the back. That would make me slightly more comfortable. AWB at right-back wouldn't hurt either.

    Lord McTominay will be back for this. ETH can't resist him anymore!

    Absolutely right.
    I too am a bit nervous and would take a scrappy 0-1.

    Forest were super at Newcastle

    it's not a performance they will put in every week. They might fancy a go at us, abandon a low block and leave space behind. Murrillo looks a good CB but not the quickest.

    I just hope Ten Hag plays to our strengths..... McTominay starting could be a problem.

    This feels like a massive game to build on the momentum from the Villa win.

    I don't want to see McTominay or Antony anywhere near this team.

    But I think we need to be pragmatic here, don't leave ourselves vulnerable on the break and nick a 1 or 2 nil win. We don't need anything special just 3 points.

    Looking forward to this. If our attack performs as well today then we are on to something. If not then it’s same old, same old

    A win here is important to build momentum, we then have an FA cup game we should be winning so that would be 3 on the bounce. Before a run of tough games, we should have a few players back for the spurs game.

    The way Nuno has us set up is the two CDM’s sit in front the back four, soak up the pressure and we hit with the front 4 only. The fullbacks will be an interesting indicator of tactics. Will he pick wingbacks Nico Williams and Aina, or more traditional fullbacks Montial and Toffolo?
    Whichever CDM’s we go with will be more mobile and quicker then yours.

    Gibbs White and Elanga will cause us big problems. Another away loss I think.

    I have watched Forest a handful of times this season and he stands out everytime for me. Talented player with a drive and dedication that i rarely see. He reminds me of a young Wazza the way he is fighting and pushing his teammates. Surprised there is no gossip about his future.
    Probably because he'd cost a small fortune. Didn't they pay around £40m for him? Think they'd want at least £60m, probably closer to £80m.

    Great player though, would have him here in a heartbeat.

    You can probably go position for position and say this for our team to be honest.

    Massive game

    Lose= crisis
    Draw= mild negativity
    Win= we might be back

    Amazing how 90mins of football can shape everyone's view
    That's what happens with diminished standards, this season has seen the bar drop the lowest of any period since SAF retirement.

    On the basis of the game I reckon it will be a difficult encounter if Forest traditionally do what Nuno has done, low block and using speed on the counter.

    Let's not big them up, they are 2 points clear of relegation for a reason.

    The game is on at 4am here in my part of the world. I’d probably not sacrifice my sleep for what might in all accounts be a Forest win as we assume our trademark levels or lethargy.

    1 - 2 for United. Rashford, Hojlund.

    We usually get results against bottom half teams.

    I do worry when we come up against pacy direct teams. If we keep the ball I think we’ll be fine but if we start doing our Ole ball direct hoofs they’ll kill us on the counter given our team is quite slow.

    I would really like to see us be proactive from the start today , we would never have gotten the 2nd half performance V Villa if we were not 2 down.

    We always seem to be in react mode , where as the top teams are making things happen and showing intensity and drive from start to the finish.

    We normally come out in these games as if we are a lower league team playing away to a premier league team in a cup match and start so meekly.

    If the last day really was a turning point it should show in the performance today. Otherwise back to square one.

    I just read that Forest will lose up to 6 players for the AFCON .. typical of our luck to have to play them just before.

    They are lucky they get to play against Onana.
    Every free kick against us is a HUGE opportunity for the opponent. Even the most basic one is a lottery if it will go in or he'll manage to save it.

    Can not see Nuno give us any space to run into, like Emery did.
    Erik must have something else up his sleeve here, or we are probably looking at our attackers huffing and puffing with no end product and us getting caught on the break, again.
    Rashford looked almost alive last game, felt like he actually sprinted a few times, can only hope his season starts now. He came alive same time last season iirc. Eriksen in might be a positive when we try to open up low defences.

    Really worried about Forest on the counter and blocking our attempts. Just hope our players are up for an away encounter and not put their feet up after a win.

    Forrest are a good counter attacking side, so we have to nullify that threat. Should not be a problem.

    If they want to have a go, I’d start pressing them near the half way line instead of up high, and try to kill them after we win the ball back.

    Winning this should not be an issue.
