I'd rather ETH kept Garnacho and Rashford on the wings and thrown McT as a striker. Antony is practically useless and is so easy to defend against. Rashford is not a striker, he only performs as a wide forward or in a two-man strikeforce. It comes off as stubbornness planning, continue to stick square pegs in round holes.

It's these types of lineups that seemingly shows ETH doesn't have the tactical nuance others at this level repeatedly show. Pep would probably use Bruno as a false 9 with someone supporting him, or some other mad scientist plan that has fans scratching their heads but confident nonetheless. It does not work every time but it definitely shows something on the pitch versus just garbage output.

I hope I eat these words later but this is just madness persisted. Fix it, ETH, I want you to succeed.

Can't say I disagree with you on the whole, but the very first match we played under ETH last season had Eriksen as a false 9.
The one against Brighton where Martial was injured and Ronaldo I think was unfit.
This season though, he's shown basically no tactical flexibility/creativity at all.
