If Ten Hag doesn't start Mainoo with Casemiro, so we have stable midfield, we are 99% losing this game.

Sad fact is - even if he does so, there are ton of vulnerabilities we have - Onana, toothless attack, you name it
Casemiro has been poor for a long time and looked like a 50yo last game.
We can hope it was just rust from not playing for a few months, but i wouldn`t count on it.

Ten Hag probably needs to win 12 if the last 17 games to save his job, this is a must win. He has his squad, now he must produce.

Casemiro has looked like this for nearly 12 months now.

He made a decent impact when he arrived but has been poor since the league restarted after the world cup.

He seemed to decline instantly after one of those suspensions last year....

Im hoping he is able to exert his influence to make him a more sellable asset in the Summer.

Kobbie will help with that. Expecting a booking for a customary late tackle later.

    Hoping to see:

    ---------------------------------Bayindir----------------------------
    Dalot------------Varane-----------------Martinez------------Shaw
    ----------------------Mainoo----------Casemiro---------------
    Anthony----------------------Bruno---------------------Garnacho
    -----------------------------------Hojlund----------------------------------

I expect this will probably be the team (Onana will start though). I can't see Rashford starting as it sends an awful message.

Would be lovely to just play well for once and get a comfortable win. I'm worried about Cunha and Neto though. They way the carry the ball could cause us nightmares with the aps we leave in midfield.

I'm not particularly confident. Suspect we will lose tonight. Hope I'm wrong.

We'll probably get a point. It will do nothing for us in the table, but will also not feel like disaster, and ETH can go out there and say how this was a controlled performance or whatever.

Yeah, i think both suspensions sucked the fight out of him. Which is odd since he seems like a tough cookie that doesn`t crumble for minor bumps in the road.

Never understood why there was such a huge media-driven inquest into them not getting a penalty in the home fixture, turning a bog standard 50/50 collision into a gross injustice. Think it stemmed from the fact that Wolves deserved something from the game more than anything else.

In any case, the furore surrounding it fecked us and we got nothing from refs for months after.

It was one of the most blatant penalties you'll ever see. A mark against VAR. Wolves have had it rough this season.

We've gotten away with a few penalties this season.

Lisandro could easily have given away one for what he did to Romero vs Spurs. Although we should have also gotten one for a handball by Romero in the same game. Maguire got away with a clear shove on McAtee vs Sheffield Utd.

Strange time to play them. We only get two days recovery before playing West Ham on Sunday, most teams get 3-4 days.

We had 14 days off between Spurs at home and Newport away, so we can't really complain.

When West Ham beat us 2-0 a few weeks ago, they only had 2.5 days rest between losing 5-1 at Anfield and beating United 2-0.

I don't think we'll lose, and I hope Diallo plays instead of Antony

Rashford is somehow more likely to start ahead of Amad. Antony will keep his place.

I think it'll be a 1-1 draw. If Wolves has Hee-Chan Hwang availabe, I'd fancy them to beat us.

No excuses, we will pretty much have our best eleven today.

United it seems don't have money to sack him and get interim manager in place in terms of FFP , what might happen if situation worsens even further he would be put on gardening leave and either of his current assistant would take charge .
Maybe. I reckon they might both leave straight away with him though and stay loyal. If it gets worse then we’ll probably keep him till end of season which gives us time to scout out a replacement and then bring someone in for new season.

I don't look forward to seeing what they will do to us in transition.

Interesting table situation now. 5 teams at the top have really pulled away, with the next five teams really close to each other but quite far behind the lead group - especially if West Ham drop points tonight. And if we lose, that's gonna be a six-team group, with Wolves right in it.

If England gets that 5th CL slot, that leaves us to slog it out with 4-5 opponents for the two EL and one ECL spot. And it looks like that might well be a pretty tough fight. Newcastle, Brighton, Chelsea, West Ham and maybe Wolves.

This is where we are. Ugh.

Totally agree. Then, remember the Garnacho shot blocked by an arm in the penalty area against Spurs: 200% a penalty. No penalty and no inquest or apologies afterwards. It is clear there is an agenda against us.

Season effectively starts here. Most players back and surely we have to see consistent form at some point this season!

The Wolves collision is not a blatant penalty, far from it. Onana missed the ball, collided with a player. You see these collisions all the time and seldom do you see a penalty given for it.

Could we please score some goals? We're so bad at scoring it's like we think we get more points for hitting it high or wide.

The average goals scored by the top four teams in the league is double ours.

I expect a win today. Even a comfortable one.
That would probably be the team

    Bayindir
    Dalot - Varane - Martinez - Shaw
    Mainoo - Casemiro
    Rashford - Bruno - Garnacho
    Hojlund

    1-3 United

Agreed; Erik needs to release the handbrake for his own and Uniteds sake. If Martinez is back fit that helps tremendously.

Would be my choice of team as well, just such a shame Rashford is both not on form and acting like a child.

    Eh?

ETH will do an ETH thing today and start Antony because he scored a goal and got an assist. The fact he actually played really poorly doesn't come into play. According to ETH if you score you will probably keep scoring so you need to start. Such basic thinking.

    START AMAD!

Or we go on a run beginning today and 4 or 5 matches from now we're back with the lead group fighting for a champions league spot and leaving the second group in our dust.

Difficult to call this one. Wolves are due something, they are an honest bunch and their fans give them great support at home. They will be up for our visit. But I also see us winning this. (I think.....)

Varane, Martinez, Shaw, Mainoo, Casemiro.. these are decent players, now fit (much, much rested some of them..) and available. This will (well, should..) make a difference. I don't expect us to concede many with these players available and selected. These players are all good on the ball, as is Dalot, and the level of our play should improve, markedly. Add Ericksen to that list too. SMT as a wildcard off the bench, so it is looking better. Casemiro does worry me, I think he's already looking at his next move. He's made his cash.

    BUT

Upfront.. same old, same old to me. We lack the quality. I expect Garnacho to do his bit, he works hard and inspires others. Rasmus is beginning to tick over. But essentially, our foreward line are not up there with the best. This will be our frustration for the remainder of the season I feel. I can't see this changing. Rashford may get a few because he's been a naughty boy and wants to make a point.

But when I look at Spurs, with Son to return.. Newcastle look like a well-rested unit. Villa are better than us.. can we overtake them? I can't see it. We haven't the quality upfront and we don't have the manager to define a playing style, especially an attacking style, (rather than inspirational moments) that we can rely upon.

Is this what it's like being a mid-table side? Going into matches not having a clue what will happen? We could win, we could turn it on and score a few, we could snatch a draw or throw away a win, we could lose or get battered.

    Haven't a clue. I'll go 1-1.

I'll go for Wolves 2-1 Man Utd
