Rasmus Hojlund - Linked to Inter

Move him on at all costs, we need a top striker for league games next summer.

What does it say? I can’t access that.
Took a screenshot of it but cannot share it in here, not sure why the story is not appearing as I can see it but essentially it confirms that along with the already disclosed interest from Juve and Napoli dating back to March, Inter have now expressed interest and it is up to United to decide.

only makes sense to loan him out with how PSR and shit works i believe. Selling him would just be taking a loss. Just hope he has an antony level loan somewhere and then the following year we can sell without taking the loss.

If there is genuine interest from Italy, he's gone, and its for the best for everyone.
Wel get almost no reasonable fee though. I'd love for Juventus to just punt on him

PSR is calculated over three years, so the accounting impact of taking the hit now vs. keeping him on the books and taking it next year would actually be minimal.

Sell at all costs.

With him it is what it is, it's more important to get rid. I suppose we could risk sending him on loan and hoping he has a stormer, and then that generates more interest next summer, but we need the cash.

I think Italian clubs realize that there are bargains to be had on underperforming English players. McT for 25M showed that. We should be able to raise 30-40M EUR given the dearth of striking quality out there. #9s of his mould are expensive these days.

man feck if i know then. Still feel like might as well loan him out and just hope for the best. Cant imagine selling for the absolute massive loss this season is better financially than loaning him out and then hopefully selling for more the following season. If he has a positive loan could easily see his transfer value double (only because of how low it is right now).

BBC Football said a someone from the latter end of fergies reign described him as a championship level player.

I think thats really harsh on championship strikers. At most of them can hold up a ball.

Maybe this is the silver lining that the good chunk of posters here were coping about yesterday.

He's awful.

A lot of the current squad I don't ever want to see play for us again, let alone this donkey.

I'm fed up of the mediocrity and last night was the culmination.

Disgraceful that he is leading the line.

You mean ones that can’t hold up the ball, dribble properly or score goals

The analytics were actually very encouraging on Hojlund, but what was ignored by the ultimate decision makers was not to overpay for what amounted to a project striker.

The lad did not set the transfer fee & ultimately whoever sanctioned it in excess of £50mill was the real problem. That & then expecting him to find his feet in a league that is relentless in a team that drops its collective head at the first sign of adversity.

It would make no sense to move Hojlund on & then bring in another prospect in Delap - it’s different when you can chip the rough edges off in a team that is functioning.

Italian clubs will probably look at his Atalanta form rather than Utd form. We're a wasteland for destroying players.
Or the Europa league form.

I did say underperforming PL players. I can almost guarantee if he goes off to Italy, you'll see him in the CL SF randomly playing alright like Blind, Mkhi, Lukaku and a host of our other expensive flops and doing just fine. That doesn't mean we shouldn't sell for a decent fee. Clearly he can't cut it in the league and that's the bread and butter.

Hard to believe that a Champions League finalist wants Højlund.
If you look at how much running thuram does for them and into the channels. Hojlund did a lot of that at Atalanta. If they can actually coach him (not sure how he isn't being coached at Utd), could turn into a useful squad player.

He might score goals for other teams as his teammates might actually pass to him and have some belief in him, which I just don't see from our players. I don't think anyone expects anything from him, which is tragic to watch, but at this point I can't say I blame them.

I think so too. But he can’t be leading our attack next season. If he stays, he must be the second choice behind a more proven striker.
Part of the problem is it seems that "more proven striker" we have our eye on is Liam Delap... this is his first season in the Prem, no European experience. Hojlund outscored Delap in his first season, albeit he's regressed this season, and yet Hojlund is only 2 total goals behind Delap in his terrible season, so...

My point is, I don't see the point in replacing Hojlund with Delap, it's like a side step and pointless when we owe money still on Hojlund as it is. Better solution to me is get a cheaper seasoned forward like Patrick Schick - cause we have no chance at Gyokeres now - and have Hojlund as backup along with Zirkzee and see how he does next season, because any price a team is willing to pay will not cover the costs and we'll end up making a loss.

Best situation is a loan in Italy and hope he does an Antony then we can decide if we wanna keep him or sell him whilst his stock is high

Don't care if he scores 70 a season for Inter. He's not going to do it here. He can't even accomplish the basics of football here. Off he goes.

Well then we would have a Rasmus Hojlund Ballon d'Or thread and honestly knowing our luck that is precisely what will happen.

If you were Hojlund you'd run to Milan wouldn't you?

You can either stay at Man Utd and fight relegation under Amorim. Or you could go to a team that's in the Champions League final, could win Serie A on the final day of the season and will probably start next season as favourites for the Italian league.

Its not exactly a hard decision. Honestly, given how he's played, he should thank his lucky stars that world football things our club is poison and that anyone taken from it and put in a different environment will thrive. His performances have not merited a move to Inter, that's for sure.

Dont even negotiate.

Even if theyve offered an empty packet of Quavers.

Accept and move on from this historically awful signing.

There will be no shortage of Utd fans who will personally help him pack and drive him to the airport.

INEOS have been clear about moving players on if they’re not performing after a year or two. So yeah he’s gone if there’s any genuine interest.

He will score goals for other teams, I dont doubt it for a minute.
That’s fine. He’s just not good enough for us. I feel like the German league would suit him. It’s a lot more open and he should be able to use his pace a lot more
