  1. Edwin van der Sar has been approached to become Director of Football

Not that surprising, Ajax just had their lowest league finish in 13-14 years. Back then Ajax was in a major crisis, and Cruijff stepped in to fix it and installed Overmars and Van der Sar to do the job. But there's little left of the ideas they had back then and the continuity they were supposed...
  2. Erik ten Hag - Manchester United manager

What makes Ten Hag very different especiallly from managers like Mourinho and Van Gaal is that he doesn't have a big ego. He's humble, honest and down to earth. Doesn't make things about himself, no act, doesn't put up a show. In that sense he hasn't really changed, was the same at Utrecht and Ajax.
  3. Edwin van der Sar has been approached to become Director of Football

Van der Sar has never been DoF at Ajax, so how could he have evolved in that role. He also announced about a month ago that he's extending his contract at Ajax until 2025. I know contracts don't always mean much in football, but someone like Van der Sar doesn't take such commitments lightly with...
  4. Antony | Here we go! €100mill, contract until June 2027, option 'til 2028.

They haven't even made a bid yet apparently.
  5. Antony | Here we go! €100mill, contract until June 2027, option 'til 2028.

But Ajax is also the kind of club that will want to have found a replacement before they'll let the Antony deal go through. Could take a while.
  6. ETH dropped the F-Bomb live on Sky Sports - ''f*cking good play football''

In the Netherlands it's completely fine to say those words, or worse, on TV. Of course it also depends on the setting. But nothing is censored here. Dutch people are used to saying the word feck, it's basically part of Dutch vocabulary. I don't think kanker or tering are similar. Especially...
  7. Antony | Here we go! €100mill, contract until June 2027, option 'til 2028.

Can't compare Justin Kluivert to Antony, he left Ajax way too early, was just 19 years old when he left. Even his own father Patrick advised him to stay at Ajax, said he's struggle. Justin looked good for a 19 year old, showed potential, but definitely wasn't one of the best players of Ajax yet.
  8. Antony | Here we go! €100mill, contract until June 2027, option 'til 2028.

In that case other clubs would have been in for him. He might not have been as willing to come. And instead of paying an exorbitant transfer fee, maybe higher wages would have been needed to convince him. It's the unfortunate situation the club is in. Clubs in better positions are getting the...
  9. Antony | Here we go! €100mill, contract until June 2027, option 'til 2028.

A lot of money for someone that will probably need time to make an impact. Antony shows a lot of potential and skill, and it's easy to get excited by his tricks but he isn't productive enough yet, not dominant enough yet. Bergwijn scored 3 goals this weekend, I expect Bergwijn will easily score...
  10. Frenkie de Jong | The last muppeting lap

Frenkie had the 4th most minutes played in that team last season after Ter Stegen, Busquets and Alba.
  11. Lisandro Martinez | Signs for United

I'm quite surprised by this transfer, especially for that money. He does have a great mentality, always works hard, never gives up. But I have my doubts about him, hope I'm wrong.
  12. Jurriën Timber | Arsenal player

Not just because he's left footed, also because he's a lot better than his competition on that side. Timber is barely holding on to his starting position as it is, he's only started 2 games recently, and got substituted in the 2nd one because he was poor. Which isn't strange, I'd be surprised if...
  13. Jurriën Timber | Arsenal player

Not really, Aké has little competition for his position, while Timber has some of the toughest competition in the team. Van Gaal prefers a left footed central defender on that leftside especially when they play with 3 at the back. Blind is the only real competition/alternative, but he currently...
