  1. Marouane Fellaini | 2015/16 Performances

If by quite impressive you mean he was completely average by every footballing standard, then yes, he was quite impressive. He's not good enough for this level of football. The only thing he can really do on the pitch is play as an old school target man to fish long balls and either bring them...
  2. Jesse Lingard | 2015/16 Performances

I simply do not understand how someone could possibly compare Lingard to Memphis, Adnan, Pereira, or even Young. All of these players actually showed flashes of brilliance before they were mired in Van Gal's swamp of non-existent movement and overpassing. Lingard has only shown no identifiable...
  3. Thats the performance that tells me we will win the league next year

Just to clear some of the confusion, I'll post the overall records here. If you want to know specific game scores, I can also provide it. This was compilled from severall different sources of comprehensive game logs: Mourinho vs Barcelona (while coaching Real Madrid) - 5 wins Mourinho, 6 draws...
  4. Óliver Torres - Another Spanish Midfield Maestro

He's very aware of the correct positioning when defending. Also, he has shown an interesting ability to press high up on the pitch, but his lack of strength is an issue he would have to work on if he is to play in Simeone's system or in the Premier League. He does keep possession and protect the...
  5. Óliver Torres - Another Spanish Midfield Maestro

Lopetegui tried that earlier this season, and it did not work out well at all. Oliver is a pure creative midfielder type, not particularly fast but incredibly skilled with his dribbling, short and long passing. Playing on the wings, especially in a 4-4-2, would be a huge waste of talent.
  6. Oliver Torres

From what I found, he has 6 goals and 6 assists in 18 league matches so far. Pretty solid for his age. That looks a little too ambitious for Simeone's style, but I have no doubt Oliver is goos enough to play that setup and thrive.
  7. Oliver Torres

I feel the need to bump this thread so that everyone can realize how good this lad is. He's injured right now, which means he will not play Sporting tonight, but Oliver has been marvelous all year. Cheer class on the dribble and pass, good finisher, makes fantastic decisions on the ball and has...
  8. Nani | Contract & Transfer talk

He's been playing almost exclusively on the left wing to start, although when Mané is in the lineup or comes in for Carrillo, they switch it up quite often. That marvel goal he scored last week was when he was on the right wing with Mané on the left. As for pace, he looked marvelous for the...
  9. William Carvalho

William has been rounding into form. Since the Braga game a while back he's been great in pretty much every match. I just wish he could be a little faster making his passes sometimes. He breaks the teams' pace occasionally. Yeah, loon is a pretty good description... Talisca came in late, but...
  10. Film The Redcafe Movie review thread

Yes, that was my point. At least give the audience room to wonder, treat the people watching like adults.
  11. William Carvalho

He was great, probably Sporting's man of the match along with Tobias Figueiredo. Benfica's goal was just a lucky bounce, hardly anything else to be done there. Just a shame that Benfica didn't try to play at all, contradicting everything Jorge Jesus claims to be about. Would have been a much...
  12. [Poll] Falcao vs Welbeck Revisited

This. RVP was a great goalscorer once, but I would rather have Falcao over him. Wellbeck shouldn't be compared to either of them, because even when he plays the same position, he's a completely different sort of player.
  13. Juan Mata | 2014/2015 Performances

Didn't he get like 7-8 games in a row at #10 more than once this season? He's just not the player we expected when we signed him.

  15. Film The Redcafe Movie review thread

It knows exactly which movie it wants to be. It wants to be a movie which gives off the notion that the 9/11 attacks were in any way related to the invasion of Iraq, by making a direct correlation in the narrative. Bradley Cooper is wasted on a main character with the emotional dept and...
