  1. Jimmy Murphy & Denzil Haroun awards | 2023/24 discussion

For the under 18s I don’t think nobody has matched the consistently high level that Amass has. Others have played some great games, but injuries and rotation has pretty much meant only 2 to 3 players really in the running. Wheatley has shown the most dramatic rise these last few months...
  2. Erik ten Hag - Manchester United manager

This is the perspective that I take with the squad. I’ve heard some claim this is Tens team when it’s far from it for me. The fact those 7 you mentioned above have had various degrees of success has also tainted the view in my opinion to maybe. The overall in balance in the team/squad from...
  3. Kieran McKenna | Ipswich manager

I like the sound of this in theory as it’s gives Ten the chance under a stable regime hopefully after the first years his good work deserved. No player drama’s, fingers crossed less injuries and if he fails then it is time for him to go and maybe give a manager with knowledge of the club a...

This is the way I can see it potentially breaking down too. I’m really hoping we can build ties with teams more consistently in being able to send players out that play a style that’s beneficial to their development. It’s difficult though as as the variables change so much.

Definitely most teams won’t take a chance on a young goalkeeper but we have seen in the past before its possible. We have to see how he steps up to the under 21s first but I’ve got a feeling that if he adapts well the club will try and accelerate his development.

I see the potential in them both too. I like the idea of a physical keeper who is commanding but the trend seems to be towards a baller. Next season hopefully both are challenged at a good level.
  7. Wes Brown interview

He could be quite good on the ball too. Yeah 07/08 was his most consistent for sure.

The best game I’ve seen him have for the club. At times his passes down the middle have me on edge but if he gets the balance right it will be an asset for the team he eventually plays for. Wonder if we may see him get a loan half way through next season.
  9. U18s: United vs Man City | Premier League Cup Winners!

I’d have to concur with this assessment. He has come in for some undue criticism I think as a lot of the squad has played well thus people need someone to critique. The multiple positions he plays shows he has a good base level and is a team player. At this age where players start to build...
  10. Wes Brown interview

I remember hearing/reading that Fergie and some others viewed him as being better than Rio when he was at his best. I’m not sure about that overall but there was a time when there levels were super close. If not for injuries he should have got more England caps for me, even though the level at...
  11. Unsung Heroes - Finley McCallister & Devanney

I’ve been singing Devaney’s praises for a while for this exact reason. Because the season has gone welll and lots of the eye catching players have done well the cogs of the team often don’t get the praises their performances warrant. He is a smart and efficient player with good awareness and...
  12. U21s: Spurs vs United

Wish I could have watched the game as it sounds like the young lads did well. I was expecting we would see a few more under 18s play up but a full team was surprising. Like has been said I think are looking to go down the route of playing the best performing under 18s up a level more regularly...
  13. Matěj Kovář | Leverkusen watch

This just feels like another stick to beat the manager with. He is at an age where he needed game time consistently to develop and is probably still not getting enough now, even though the level is high. He has played 14 games this season when I think he should be in the 20’s, even if not for...
  14. U18s: Wolves 1-2 United | Premier League North Champions!

I think something like this could be beneficial too. Going abroad is an experience in itself. Especially for players in a situation that Gomes did and Forson now. Not quite ready for regular football at United requirements but need opportunities to see if they can step up.
  15. U18s: Wolves 1-2 United | Premier League North Champions!

It can definitely be a positive tool, even short terms to give a taster.
