  • No offence but that is a genuinely awful starting line-up. Pope in goal after his display the other day? Walker as a CB in a 4 man defence? Tyrick Mitchell? Bellingham as a lone holding midfielder?
  • DannyCAFC replied to the thread Trent can’t defend.
Well it's arguably no longer a 3 CB + 2 DM setup as Bellingham looks like he's going to start over Phillips and he's much more attack-minded. Your point about TAA makes little sense; you're arguing against playing a back 5 because of the lack of...

Not many but you'd hope top quality players would be adaptable enough to pick up the system. England have played enough of it over the last 4 or 5 years as well. I think it's fairly obvious that the CBs in particular are a big problem and he...
  • Meant to take Mount out. Although I'd say our odds of getting away with starting 12 players can't be much worse than our odds of actually winning the tournament at this rate, so maybe we should try and trot out an extra man and see if we...

  • I question how much you've actually watched Pickford of late if this is your response. Other than maybe Pope he's been the most consistent English GK since the start of last season. Ramsdale's peaks have been higher and I believe his distribution...
  • DannyCAFC replied to the thread Mauro Icardi.
He's 29, a known twat, hasn't had a good season in about 5 years, has never had a particularly good all-round game, and will probably want massive wages. I'm gonna say you should probably pass on this one.
  • Username checks out.
  • The abuse he gets goes far beyond what a footballer should receive, and that has happened to plenty of England players in the past who have been scapegoated at major tournaments and what not. But it is simply undeniable that he has been at...
  • DannyCAFC replied to the thread Declan Rice.
Most of this forum (rightly so) was on McTominay's back last season and suddenly a handful of decent games and he's a good player again. Meanwhile Rice 'has been shit for a while' after a handful of bad or average games. More proof of how fickle...

Because you still have utter dross like McTominay playing regularly?
  • DannyCAFC replied to the thread Declan Rice.
He's getting even cheaper. Gone from a £40m player tops, to a £30m player, now 20. One more average game in an average England side and suddenly it'll be 'I wouldn't even take him on a free' on this forum.
  • Bit of a bellend though isn't he, don't think he'd do a great job with squad harmony.
  • He's not great but let's be honest who are the candidates to replace him at the moment? You'd need an interim if he gets sacked straight after the WC but there's still unlikely to be anyone good in the summer. Steve Cooper would be near the top...

Have West Ham in general? We're also 7 games in. I think he's done enough over the last 4 or 5 seasons to be given a bit of leeway here, people are so quick to write players off if they have a bad 7 or 8 game run.
