  1. Missed Opportunity Signings

Schneiderlin was a good signing at the time. Spurs wanted him and he had been one of Southampton’s best players. He was exactly what we needed and the signing was praised by fans, media and opposition fans. The fact he turned out to be awful couldn’t have been predicted and we got most of our...
  2. Missed Opportunity Signings

Of course he says that now he is at Liverpool. Do you honestly believe he was going to turn down United with the massive pay rise because he didn’t like the manager? Everyone always says they rejected United after the event. Some of them might have done if they had a choice of clubs but he...
  3. Alessandro Nesta, how good was he?

Stam isn't in the same league as those players. Rio was better than Stam and Rio isn't in the same category as Nesta and co.
  4. Manchester United name John Murtough as Football Director and Darren Fletcher as Technical Director

So people think its a good thing that the guy who has apparently been overseeing our recruitment since 2014 - which has been roundly criticised by almost everyone - has now got an official title. People wanting a more established name are not just chasing exotic names but people with a more...
  5. “ If De Bruyne (£68m) has an off day, City have Mahrez (£61m), Sterling (£57m), Silva (£45m), Foden, Gundogan (£24m), & Ferran (£21m)

VDB has barely been used by Ole even when fit and even when we desperately needed goals. He has spent 130m on the defence which wasn't our biggest issue and still isn't a huge strength.
  6. All ticket/travel information thread - 2016/17 -Touting will not be tolerated on the site

No - unless I am doing something very stupid. I got about 40% last year. This year I haven't got any - I've just realised the post above was wrong as the Charity Shield doesn't count.
  7. All ticket/travel information thread - 2016/17 -Touting will not be tolerated on the site

Is anyone else here an Exec and finding the success rate for aways seems a lot lower this year? Got one out of about five so far.
  8. Anthony Martial | 2015/16 Performances

I don't know how anyone can defend Deschamps. They were the stronger team and he was so fundamentally negative in his approach that he prevented that from winning them the game. Target men are well and good but that played into Pepe and Fonte's strengths. When you are the better team being...
  9. Jeremy Corbyn - Not Not Labour Party(?), not a Communist (BBC)

Not if metropolitan Labour voters are unsure of the party's commitment to the EU. This is the point I am making. Right now - Labour isn't necessarily seen as an alternative. It was overwhelmingly Labour voters in the metropolitan areas.
  10. Jeremy Corbyn - Not Not Labour Party(?), not a Communist (BBC)

And again it isn't the main reason I think he should go. I don't think he was very effective but that is an opinion and until we have more data we will have to agree to disagree. What I do think is that a) he clearly has no control over his party and surely we can now accept the resignations...
  11. Jeremy Corbyn - Not Not Labour Party(?), not a Communist (BBC)

Why is it an amazing statistic? Genghis Khan could have been leader of the Labour party and I would have voted Remain.
  12. Jeremy Corbyn - Not Not Labour Party(?), not a Communist (BBC)

I'm certainly not blaming Corbyn for the Leave victory - I don't think he did a great job of persuading people to vote Remain but that's not the same. What I am saying is I don't believe he is capable of wining a GE.
  13. Jeremy Corbyn - Not Not Labour Party(?), not a Communist (BBC)

Fair point re anecdotes but I was trying to make a different point. I have nothing against Corbyn and indeed supported his leadership campaign. But since he has become leader I haven't seen him push himself from left wing purist to an effective leader. You have to work with rivals and elements...
  14. Jeremy Corbyn - Not Not Labour Party(?), not a Communist (BBC)

Ok well if you believe that article his team thought they would be ok which doesn't help with the notion he simply isn't agile or flexible enough to lead a party.
  15. Jeremy Corbyn - Not Not Labour Party(?), not a Communist (BBC)

Ok well we can trade anecdotes all we like but the Labour votes that voted Remain were largely metropolitan. They were always going to vote Remain. The issue was with the working class for Labour - an element apparently Corbyn should have been effective with but quite clearly wasn't. If you...
