  1. Aston Villa appoint Unai Emery as manager

That's your opinion, for me; we challenged for the title at least 5other times since 2004. For instance, we went up to Wigan years ago and lost 3-2 fighting for the league. Anyway this is Emery thread, so lets agree to disagree!
  2. Aston Villa appoint Unai Emery as manager

I'd say we fought for the title on several occasions back then too. Perhaps not until the last day, but at least up until April, we were challenging for first place many times. Our issues were injuries or not having a big enough squad due to financial constraints from the stadium. Ultimately...
  3. Aston Villa appoint Unai Emery as manager

That's exactly what we were doing under Wenger, while winning FA Cups and spending much less money; what are you talking about? I'm not advocating for Arteta's sacking either, and I think it's foolish for fans to want him gone after this season; there's clearly a good cohesion at Arsenal...
  4. Aston Villa appoint Unai Emery as manager

No, but it doesn't bode well if you're spending over £600 million on this project, buying his preferred players, and still can't win any trophies. Name another major club in history that has spent that much and won no trophies for five years.
  5. Aston Villa appoint Unai Emery as manager

    Weren't Artetas players
  6. Aston Villa appoint Unai Emery as manager

I'm an Arsenal fan but he's right. Arteta has spent a lot of money and only won the FA Cup, with Wengers players

    Eh no its true
  8. Premier League Gameweek 34-35

Ultimately yes, your right the leagues more physical and intense but that's why there's many injuries. Too much running, counterpressing, where is the actual overrall quality compared to 10 years ago?
  9. Premier League Gameweek 34-35

Chances are irrelevant; every team has poor finishing within a football match. Even Chelsea had opportunities tonight in that first half; if they had a better striker. Ultimately, the PL is in a bad place right now; can you name me 10 elite strikers in the league? Also the playing styles are...
  10. Premier League Gameweek 34-35

Extra teams in the mix adds excitement, but it doesn't always translate to a higher overall quality or strength in the league. Generally, the PL has gone backwards in terms of quality and player characters. This shows with Villa being the only English club to remain in Europe.
  11. Premier League Gameweek 34-35

Stronger defensively this season due to our defenders gaining experience, and with Rice's addition. However, in terms of overall cohesion, I think we looked better last season. Having an extra team in the title race doesn't mean a stronger league. If anything, it could suggest the opposite.
  12. Premier League Gameweek 34-35

How can you be the best team in the league without trophies? We've always had a dominant, beautiful, passing playing style barring 3 or 4 years of the last 25 seasons. Let's win some cups first and then we'll call ourselves that.
  13. Premier League Gameweek 34-35

There not the only well coached teams in Europe and regardless, that doesn't mean we've been sensational. Happy about tonight, but still a long way to go.
  14. Premier League Gameweek 34-35

We've not been sensational. This is the weakest PL I've ever known. Yes, we've been really good at times; but whenever we face a coached cohesive team, with class players, we've been found out.
  15. Bournemouth vs Manchester United

Damn. I've not watched United too much recently but this is just poor; your players are better than this. I like Ten Hag, he's a nice man; but it's just not working out between him and these players. Bringing in an interim until May could really salvage some of the season as the players you...
