  1. Antony | 2023/24 Performances

He wasn't bad, but nowhere near a key player. His stats weren't special, his play was fun to watch most of the time but barely effective.
  2. Antony | 2023/24 Performances

Exactly. I mean, say what you want about Gakpo, but he was really effing good for Eredivisie standards, same goes for Gravenberch. Both are doing pretty good now at Liverpool, nothing outstanding, but definitely adding a flavour in the attacking play of their squad. With Antony I've seriously...
  3. Antony | 2023/24 Performances

I remember being called out last season when I said that I genuinely didn't understand one iota of this signing. He wasn't special at Ajax, he never showed the level that is required to excel in the Eredivisie, let alone the Premier League. I was criticized for a biased view because of being a...
  4. Eredivisie 2023/2024

Totally agree with you. Even looking forward to see Ajax after Steijn is sent away and sincerely hope they can hijack some points in Eindhoven next Sunday.
  5. Eredivisie 2023/2024

I don't think anyone portrays you as bad guys, I do think more and more people stress the point that there is something of an 'Ajax-tax'. If you compare the prices that has been paid for Ajax players versus Feyenoord over the last years the difference is staggering. It's fair to say that most of...
  6. Eredivisie 2023/2024

Recruitment failure or not, performing this poor with that material doesn't give the manager a free pass. In the meanwhile I am starting to worry about the overall level of the Eredivisie, top-4 win their matches with such relative ease that I fear that the points dropped by Feyenoord early...
  7. Eredivisie 2023/2024

In all fairness, it takes the charm away quite a bit. I went to Feyenoord-Ajax around 2004 being a 13 year old child with my father and shit was just outright dangerous at the time. Police on horseback, trains full of Ajax fans being attacked, helicopters everywhere, felt like a battlefield...
  8. Eredivisie 2023/2024

Thanks for the congrats mate. Would've loved to get the three points without all the fuss but winning in Amsterdam feels lovely anyway.
  9. Donny Van De Beek | he stays!

:D To be fair, I find it hard some parts of the West-Flemish accent hard to get my head around, but I also find it hard to fully grab the Groningen accent. I guess the same counts for proper Glaswegian or Belfast-accent as well.
  10. Donny Van De Beek | he stays!

Haha I'm half Dutch and I speak the language fluent. Whatever some ultra Flemish nationalist will tell you, Vlaams is an accent, not a language. 99 percent of the words are identical to Dutch, they are just spoken with a different (more French) accent, you could compare it to Scottish English...
  11. Donny Van De Beek | he stays!

Very Dutch flavored with four Dutch players and the entire staff being Dutch. And in Antwerp they also speak Dutch so quite a soft landing for him from a cultural perspective. I think on that part he never really clicked in Northern England. He's quite a rural village guy from the Netherlands...
  12. Eredivisie 2023/2024

Quite impressed by the level that Feyenoord is already showing early season. Really curious to see how they will perform in this CL group which is not the worst draw possible but with some nice classic encounters (Celtic, Atletico and Lazio). Looking forward to this season.
  13. Donny Van De Beek | he stays!

I don't think a price tag justifies giving any player a run of games in the starting eleven, someone's level of play is. Van de Beek has been underperforming since the first season, with people questioning his capabilities from the first couple of games we saw him play, and rightly so. You don't...
  14. Donny Van De Beek | he stays!

I know how averages work and deviations to averages, Plato. But as some here want to make the argument that he's been giving too little time at Man Utd to proof himself, I belief that is utter bull knowing he played more than 2000 minutes for us and didn't show any of his qualities. Whether you...
  15. Donny Van De Beek | he stays!

He played around 2200 minutes in 60 games, rougly 37 minutes per game. Obviously those weren't all starters but not exactly the classic 88th minute subsitution either. Showing this little in over two thousand minutes should be reason to sod off at any club.
