One third of abusers were abused as children, not excusing anything, just pointing out it's a factor. Having worked with young teens who were abuse by their parents and/or other relatives, I have seen the lifelong impact that can have on them...

The reaction to him blowing the whistle is the issue, simply wrong mobbing the ref and expecting him to change his decision? Nothing wrong in what he did, people expecting him to whistle after Real completed their attack just weird.
