  1. Marcus Rashford (Out) | Ornstein: United want to keep, will only consider substantial bids

I don't get so many people saying sell him so cheap. The acid test is if we sell him can we get top dollar. He's got a long term contract and is one of the most marketable players we have. I'd be upset with anything short of 100m and I would expect a fee closer to 120/130m. Yes he's been out of...
  2. Why is our passing so garbage?

Yeah I remeber him complaining about this. This is why I think we need to keep EtH for better or worse. The problem with our football club is the balance of power is completely wrong. The footballing fundamentals suffer because we have too many players who are focused on the things they like...
  3. Why is our passing so garbage?

I'm far more concerned with our inability to do the defensive basics. Our positions and unwillingness to pressure or tackle have cost us so many goals this season. I don't like this group of players and I have to support them.
  4. Rashford's red card - correct decision or badly done by VAR again?

You make a great point re VAR but I'm not jumping down that rabbit hole.
  5. Rashford's red card - correct decision or badly done by VAR again?

But by your logic a should injury sustained as a direct result of a shoulder challenge is endangering a player as it caused the shoulder to dislocate. I've never seen a player for mistiming a shot (maybe subbed), and as for slide tackles when you get coached how to do it your coach explains the...
  6. Rashford's red card - correct decision or badly done by VAR again?

The tackle ypur describing is world's apart from the action rashford made last night. And I'd suggest that falls under wrekless I.e. you've dived in with such force and a lack of control that you've wrecklessly endangered your opponent.
  7. Time + blind faith = Sir Alex Ferguson.

Our match going fans are usually great and supportive of the manager so yes your point is correct. We sang and cheered all the managers who have now gone....but our club has a lot more fans than the c65k who attend the matches. Many of them were wanting moves out from the moment he was...
  8. Rashford's red card - correct decision or badly done by VAR again?

You can injur someone doing a perfectly legal tackle. Football is a contact sport and body's can be fragile. I've seen seen players dislocate their shoulder in a shoulder to shoulder challenge, I've seen a tib and fib break in a fair 50/50. And in my experience my coaches have never taught me...
  9. Rashford's red card - correct decision or badly done by VAR again?

I urge you to watch it back again at normal speed. I think the most telling thing is nobody, not the ref nor the opponents reacted at all. The only player who reacted (and rightly so) was the player who got hurt. If this was any sort of foul play someone would have reacted asking for a free kick...
  10. Rashford's red card - correct decision or badly done by VAR again?

I just can't agree with that view point, he's not endangered the opponent as he's done an action that is coached in to players early in the game and a key part of retaining passion done literally 10000's of times every weekend. The contact was a result of both the attempt to steal the ball and...
  11. Rashford's red card - correct decision or badly done by VAR again?

But that's an issue, say for example same thing happens last night but player jumps back up and continues. Still a red? I doubt it? In a world where the same actions can yield different sanctioning based on outcome. Somethings wrong in my opinion
  12. Time + blind faith = Sir Alex Ferguson.

I think we just need to change our strategy and stick to it. Yes it needs time but looking at SAF he remodelled the club based on the ideals of Sir Matt. In his early tenure fergie recruited some of the best young players in the country to the academy which bore fruit in the 90s as he had a...
  13. Rashford's red card - correct decision or badly done by VAR again?

I just can't get with people who think that's a red. Bad contacts happen in football. They happen all the time! I've read the rule around serious foul play and I think they are where the problems lie with the game. They are designed to allow interpretation so terms like "endangered a player" are...
  14. VAR and Refs | General Discussion

Its such a simple fix. Only use VAR/technology for goals and offsides. Binary decisions. On/off....over the line/didn't cross. everything else is subjective so should be left to the on the field ref
  15. VAR and Refs | General Discussion

Some formula, agree and justify whatever the decision is unless its a big club vs smaller club in which case its ok to say ref got it wrong
