  1. Lisandro Martínez | 2022/23 Performances

Not worst idea…….doesn’t he play there for Scotland? I worry we are stuck with Mct in midfield to essentially cover Martinez at set pieces. Remember LVG doing similar with fellaini and blind. The potential ways around it…… shift Martinez to Left back. switch to 3 CBs play Martinez as a DM...
  2. Good but less known players from the 90s / early 2000s?

Moustapha hadji, youssef chippo and Magnus headmand were all good players for Coventry City. Clive mendonca. Charlton striker. Didn’t go as far as vardy has but same type of story i think. Matt Elliot Leicester CB always good for 6+ goals a season Trevor Sinclair was good but seems to go...
  3. L'Equipe : Zidane wants United job / all spaculation no updates

You’d like to think that if Zidane was interested the board would have had some kind of discussions I’d be asking him...... Would you be willing to work under a director of football? As crude as it sounds...you’d hope they’d be discussing potential targets..... could Zidane entice any...
  4. Would you prefer a number of good players coming into the team, or a genuine superstar performer?

How about a couple of superstars been there done it type players. Bale and Vidal and 2-3 young players with big potential.... Tierney De Ligt Sessegnon?? We need players for here and now Bale and Vidal, both have question marks over form and fitness and would be gambles no doubt but like it or...
  5. Martial | Di Marzio thinks he will stay

If a really big offer came in and a top class Right winger became an option I would probably sell. Even better would be if we signed Sessegnon as a sort of replacement.
  6. High Pressing Teams and Refereeing

That doesn’t take into account how the amount of possesion teams have. If you have the ball it’s difficult to foul. Yesterday for instance City 65 % posseion 17 fouls Utd 35 % posssion 9 fouls So over a 90 minute period city had the ball 58.5 minutes Utd 31.5 That means roughly city were...
  7. High Pressing Teams and Refereeing

It’s an essential part of the philosophy. Allows them to play with the fullbacks so high because if they turn the ball over they break up the play which gives them chance to re-organise. Yesterday city 65%possesion 17 fouls Utd 35% possesion 9 fouls Slightly skewed as I remember the ref...
  8. Manchester City under Pep Guardiola | Pep on City v Liverpool ref: "He likes to be special"

Deserved champions and deserve all the plaudits....... my only gripe is the constant tactical fouling that doesn’t seem to get picked up on by refs. 65% Possession today 17 fouls compared to Utds 35% and 9 fouls (courtesy of BBC) Peps philosophy is great but a big big part of it is stopping...
  9. Ashley Young penalty incident

Initial thought was he got the ball but replays show otherwise and tbh looked a potential red card. As mentioned the Bravo one last season springs to mind and Aguero am doesn’t seem to be injured so who cares! Whilst on the topic of fouling......according to the BBC City had 65% possession...
  10. Ogden: Mourinho eyes Man United clear-out

I think woody will push for Bale and Vidal will come. Somebody’s gotta talk to Alexis in the canteen. Both are you’re stereotypical mourinho short term signings so I hope we balance them out with a couple of real potential signings. Some that have been mentioned. Sessegnon,Tierney, De Ligt, Cook
  11. Fullbacks for the summer

No world beater but void do worse than Bertrand? Not sure how he’s done this season but he knows the league homegrown and especially if Saints drop down would come for a good fee. Could even send shaw back on loan for a year?
  12. What do we still need? Post Summer 2017 edition

Sorry mentioned this in the fullbacks thread to. Ryan Bertrand. Seems as though Southampton may drop out of the league..... By no means a world beater but Bertrand would be a decent signing knows the league and come at decent price in today’s market. Could possibly send Shaw back on loan for...
  13. Luke Shaw interview with United Review

It’s all I can think of......never was he bad enough to warrant be subbed at half time.
  14. Luke Shaw interview with United Review

I think that’s the issue...... mourinho doesn’t want his fullbacks in advanced positions or ahead of the ball.
  15. Alexis Sánchez | 2017/18 Performances

Nothing he does come off at the moment..... Did see some encouraging signs with the cross to Mata (I think it was Alexis) and he was much better and got into the game far more once whe moved to the left. Needs one to go in if his bum or something then hopefully can get on a run of form.
