  • Not what i said... i said post that information here. No point me spending ages doing the math when you have an easily accessible list of their ages when they won the UCL.
  • because its bullshit and you have no sources for this claim at all. You can't just invent stats and expect it not to be questioned. If this list of manager who won the CL and their ages at the time is easily accessible - then post a link to it.
  • Use this list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Premier_League_managers#Premier_League_title-winning_managers pre 50 vs post 50yo.
  • Urm no.
  • you said over 50 not over 55... can you post your list here? with the ages of the managers each time they won.
  • Agree - had a look online and come up with nothing that backs up the claim. The most successful managers in the PL were all aged 50+. Also winning the Bundesliga at 43 isn't anywhere near as comparable to winning you first PL title at 53yo (Klopp).
  • Well you're the one making the claim, so you should provide sources for that. Where's the data that managers are more successful pre 50 and lose more post 50? Just take this list of PL most successful managers...
  • Well we need a source that also isn't specific to CL winners. Absolutely! Pep too, just bagged a bunch of trophies post 50.
  • Which is why i brought Frank up, he's younger than Ten Hag and has alot of potential. My point was just because he's at Brentford doesn't mean he couldn't step up to a big team - we've see younger managers with much less experience make the step...
  • Not sure i'd agree with that.
  • Age has nothing to do with it. Leverkusen is a huge step up coming from managing a B team in Spain - they are consistently in Europa/CL every season.
  • Nonsense. Arteta was an assistant at City before managing any team, same with Alonso, Zidane. If you have the knowledge and a clear plan in place, the level is irrelevant.
  • Well its Brentford... His job is to keep them in the PL and avoid relegation. What's he's done with this Brentford team for the past few years has been outstanding.
  • It's not just the midfield though, it's the entire team. You then compound the problem by playing Eriksen, Evans, Maguire, Lindelof etc - attackers just waltz past these guys.
  • He's just as crap for England. Nobody to blame but himself.
