  1. Neil Webb

While not really able to be classed as a success Ian Storey-Moore made a great start to his short United career, scoring on his debut and finishing the season with 5 goals in 11 games before an ankle injury just about finished him.
  2. Something to cheer you up

go on a diet you mean ? ;) hello fred btw
  3. What was the most humiliating defeat in your Utd supporting career?

It was a real thumping, although Ipswich were a good side in those days, winning the FA Cup in 78 and running Villa very close for the League title in 81
  4. What was the most humiliating defeat in your Utd supporting career?

That Cup final defeat was very hard to take because we were such strong favourites. The 0-6 at Ipswich, 1-5 at Birmingham (when we scored first) and 3-5 to WBA were probably the worst I can remember, we used to get humped quite regularly back in the 70's and early 80's.
  5. Favourtism with Rangers / abu Celtic

[/B] Not the old conspiracy theory again. How does a professional team let in 9 goals in a game - did they lie down ? No doubt Inverness tried extra hard because of Terry Butcher and presumably Samaras deliberately missed the penalty at Ibrox because he is a Rangers secret agent ? And as for...
  6. Tommy Docherty

I agree, 74-75, 75-76 & 76-77 were 3 great seasons for me as a member of 'Docs Red Army'. On the pitch the Doc produced a really good attacking team with some great players, off the pitch there are a number of issues that do not do him any favours with United fans.
  7. The new United Anthem

"East Stand" - will always be the 'Scoreboard' to me.

  10. The Players That Dissapeared

[/B] He signed for Hibs in the SPL at the start of last season, plays regularly.
  11. My experiences as a "Top Red"

    I'll second that
  12. Times of our lives

Good programme, Jimmy G had a couple of attempts at winding Lou up over the winning goal but Lou wasn't biting. Very interesting to hear some of the stories from the players, Lou seemed to get quite excited about money - the players pool, the Puma Boots rep visiting the hotel etc. I havn't seen...
  13. Your Memories of United versus Liverpool

    [/B] Yougsters !!
  14. Your Memories of United versus Liverpool

Worst 77-78 League 1-3 at Anfield, Paddy Roche in goal ! 78-79 League 0-3 at Old Trafford, a miserable Boxing Day. 82-83 Milk Cup 1-2 at Wembley, really thought it was our going to be our first League Cup win. Best 76-77 FA Cup 2-1 at Wembley, what a weekend. 84-85 FA Cup 2-1 at Maine...
  15. Celtic

Not that it makes much difference to the point you make but Steven Davis was the best Rangers player in last week's Auld Firm game and always looks as though he is a good player in the SPL generally.
