Any manager we bring in will have the same issues... To me the main problem is the age profile of the squad. If you assume a players 'peak years' where fitness, ability and experience align are say 25-29 and probably later for central defenders 27-31 possibly - we have so few players in this age...

A number of different managers now and people still saying we have the players but its just down to poor attacking coaching. Have all these managers failed to introduce adequate coaching despite some being successful at other clubs? At what point do we just say these players aren't good enough?

Letting Lukaku and Sanchez go with no experienced ST replacement (at least as a backup) is biting us in the ass already. The Smalling decision will do as well in time. Poor decisions sinking this club..

I think Fred has to be given another chance now. Lingard/Pereira are just MEH..

Have to hope Tuanzebe comes good as I don't like our other backup CB options that much (plus most of them will be on the treatment table). Prob a good move for the future but can't help feeling these sales and loans are seriously weakening the backup squad short term.

A left field option is to try Fred in Lingards role the guy presses well is creative and can certainly find a pass plus his occasional loss of possession brain farts won't matter in this position..

What's the problem with giving Gomes a few 45 min stints to see if he can bring more guile, creativity and end product to the 10 role where Lingard is ultimately not providing any of this. If it doesn't work out then it's Lingard or Mata for this season unfortunately or give Fred a go in there ...
