  1. Favourite Goals Against Chelsea

1999 FA Cup quarter final at Stamford Bridge The second goal scored by Dwight Yorke, kept us on track for the treble. (about 35 seconds into the video clip)...
  2. Most intense game you've ever watched.

The 1999 champions league match against Juventus in Turin, we had been trying for years to do something in this comptetion and this was the real break through against top quality opposition. The 1-0 win against Barcelona in 2008 at Old Trafford, still my favourite united goal alongside the...
  3. Football in the olden days (pre-1990's) was crap, discuss.

Very possibly Nanook, I can't really speak for Turkey and I am basing my sweeping statement on personal observations in the UK to be honest. For example when we were kids (mid 80's) we were forever playing football in the street/ park/ schoolyard/ anywhere, I just don't see this anymore. So...
  4. Football in the olden days (pre-1990's) was crap, discuss.

Don't have any to hand, but would be shocked if it isn't true.
  5. Football in the olden days (pre-1990's) was crap, discuss.

Yes the modern day players are typically in much better physical condition. Yes the pitches are typically in much better condition. Aside from the above I would argue that pre 1990's there were more kids (certainly in Europe) playing more football and hence the players who made it to the top...
  6. Memphis Depay | Atletico player

He just wasn't good enough for us, and in my opinion he never will be. Time will of course tell, but certainly a few decent performances in a weaker league and a wonder goal doesn't mean very much to me.
  7. Manchester United vs Watford

So much better than the last few years. Enjoyable to watch.
  8. What could have beens.....but weren't

Not sure how close we were but Modric would have been a great signing.
  9. Brendan Rodgers - a re-evaluation?

Absolutely agree, can't listen to him at all.
  10. Does Rooney deserve a statue?

He probably does deserve a statue, however as mentioned previously I think it might be prudent to wait and see how he conducts himself in the years after he leaves United.
  11. Phil Jones | 2016/17 Performances

He's just not good enough, at the level we hope to be performing at he's a weak link. Quality opposition forwards I am sure relish the chance to play against him.
  12. Best post-Maradona player (peak level)

Messi, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho are most likely the top three. An argument could be made for any of them.
  13. Best Big match goal

I know it's been mentioned earlier in the thread, but always preferred this fan filmed version of the Scholes goal versus Barcelona. I could watch this all night.
  14. Best Big match goal

Yes you could say it was a more important goal, but I wouldn't class it as a great goal in itself, which was the point of the thread I believe.
  15. Manchester United vs Liverpool

    There ya go.
