Anyone by the off chance have a pair for Stoke away on Boxing Day? Desperate :O

  3. Comparisons to 2001

Okay, let me preamble this by saying: Maybe I am being a bit (very) optimistic, and maybe I am being nostalgic. But I don't care. The reaction in 2001 to the announcement of His retirement was nothing like this. Also, any chance of a backflip again? Please God. (Awkward I am praying to Sir...

Prime Minister Tony Abbott. Governor-General John Howard. It's happening.
  5. Do we lift the title when we seal it?

If we beat Aston Villa at Old Trafford, will we celebrate the title properly with all the hoopla at full time? Or do we need to wait till the last home game of the season?
  6. Australian Politics

$1025 start-up scholarships effectively scrapped and turned into "loans". Disgraceful.
  7. Lionel Messi

Messi is, and will go down as, one of the greatest players to have ever laced up a pair of football boots. But if he doesn't win a world cup, he won't be in the same league as Pele and Maradona. If he wins one world cup you can argue he's on par with Maradona, but even then, not Pele. I...
  8. The Decline of FC Barcelona?

    Well, that's just laughable.
  9. Australian Politics

Tony Abbott has had twice as many door stop press conferences as Gillard in the last 12 months, so I don't know what stats you are using to base that statement on. Whether you liked John Howard or not, he was a very successful Prime Minister and led a very competent government, both...

Among the absolute worst, bias, incorrect things I have ever read
  12. Australian Politics

I don't subscribe to the belief it will be a worse option, mainly because this has been the most inept government in decades, and thus will be hard to have worse; but also because so many of the current Liberal/National front bench served in the greatest government this country has seen.
  13. City and Mancini

Yes Roberto, because there was no luck involved in City's title win over the last 8 games of the previous season. I wish he had a job there for life. The day an actual football manager with pedigree comes to that club is a day to be concerned, particularly if it coincides with the exit of Sir Alex.
  14. 15 point lead = 10 fingers on the prem trophy?

It's over. Anyone saying any different is (justifiably) still shaken from last season's escapades. However, if anything, that will only serve as a reason why a repeat WILL not happen. IF City win the rest of their games (they won't), 7 wins, 1 draw and 3 losses from our next 11 guarantees us...

Doesn't matter if it's Rudd, Gillard, Shorten Combet, Smith, Plibersek, Hawker, Richardson or the King Thug Howes himself - the people are going to punish a bad government with a landslide wipe out.
