If they are swapped Rice would consistently lose the ball in tight spaces. They are where they are because Kobbie is able to receive the ball in tight spaces and do something with it, exactly as he did leading up to the penalty.

I tried suggesting this could be worth a shot a couple of weeks ago. Some chap thought it was the worst idea since sliced bread. Luckily opinions are like arseholes and everyone has one.

A left footer trying to defend the right hand side of the pitch is very different to a left footer trying to defend the left. He is constantly on his weaker foot while defending the right.

He was brilliant for a while. But it is almost depressing looking back at some of those games on YouTube when he was brilliant because the rest of our team was so bloody good. A midfield of Keane, Scholes, Beckham and Giggs makes me want to cry...
