I think losing by multiple goals to nil is interesting, because failing to score at home is obviously very much unintended. Every top side wants and expects to win every home game, regardless of the opposition. No top side is ever happy to leave the field without having scored, bar some weird circumstance where 0-0 is an acceptable result. Conceding multiple goals and losing by more than just the one goal demonstrates that you've not just lost a match, but a side has won fairly comfortably. The referee could commit a howler late on and you've still got a cushion. It's why what City and Liverpool are doing is so impressive. They are not just winning matches, but doing so in a way where they have such a large margin of error.

For me the feeling as a match going fan is a weird one, because I cannot relate to a time like the last six months where so many teams have won comfortably at Old Trafford. It's becoming regular that the other side is scoring one or more goals from multiple mistakes, or just being superior, and we're blanking.
Yeah our home form is very poor and this is not something that's from last 6 months. It was poor all season. It was poor in 2016-17 and also in Moyes team. We had very good record under Van Gaal and in 2017-18 season. So in short out home form was poor in 3 seasons and good in 3 seasons.

This season before Ole we lost 3-0 to Spurs, drew against Wolves, Palace, Arsenal. Need a superb comeback to win against Newcastle after going 2-0 down and then lost to Derby in League cup.

ManUtd's home form is very poor since SAF retired.

United always have a gift for the opposition, be it a mistake from the back four, a loss of possession from the DM or in the last few months a howler from DDG.

Making the team hard to beat should be easier than making them a free flowing attacking unit...so I’d start at the back.

When we finally have a team that is feared again, I shall take extra delight at sticking 4 and 5 past the likes of Wolves, Southampton, Everton, Cardiff, Huddersfield, Brighton etc etc

feck me we've been bad for a long time.
I think Norwich beat us, too. Though to beat them, we'd need to get relegated or draw them in a cup competition.

They've just been promoted to the premier league - as champions no less. I look forward to them coming to Old Trafford next season and treating us as if we're some kind of league 2 club...

Thats what happen when our manager sets up counter attacking against a team that is happy to defend. Martial mata and pogba should have been our furthest forward players.

On my stream, the crowd sounded great. Is that fair?

As I'm not privileged enough to create a new thread...what's the general mood at OT at present? Anxious? Frustrated? Bored!?

I ask as now we've reached yet another 'crisis' point, I'm intrigued as to the current matchday vibe. I guess its perhaps too early in the piece/season to judge consistently?

As much as the next paying punter through the turnstile, i like to voice my opinions during the game on the occasions i can get to OT.

I'm interested to know whether things are turning from cautious optimism to nervous unrest the first time Matic is caught in possession or McTominay passes the ball backwards?

Arsenal at home, under the lights is, at least through recent history, a great occasion and i expect the atmosphere to be electric, despite our recent struggles.

But is that what the season ticket holders would anticipate going into next Monday?

My point is the need to stick with the team, as we've always done, no matter how many new levels we stoop to.

I'm just concerned there's too many people turning up these days waiting to be entertained with no real interest in getting behind the team, or am i wrong?

I think people have too much respect for Ole at OT to really boo and let their feelings known, but there's little real faith there in him. Most people around me have no real positives but politeness for him. That manifests itself in unpopular players being lambasted rather than the manager.

There's very few Ole songs getting sung now. Ole's at the Wheel has completely gone, Late in May and You are my Solskjaer get maybe one weak airing per match, but that's about it. Mourinho got more vocal support until his final month or two.

The crowd has been alright given the performances in the last six months, but we've had so little to cheer. People of course want Ole to succeed, and you see that in a thunderous atmosphere during the Chelsea game, but there's every reason for people to not feel it right now.
