Love me some Aaron Ramsey. Think he is criminally underused at Juve and would shine in a 4-3-3. Watch Wales in 2016 or Arsenal in 2018/19 from January to March to see what I mean. There's a reason Juve paid him 400,000€ per week.

Also think Daley Blind was fabulous and criminally underrated. A much better player than the likes of Jones, Smalling or Bailly. Basically a left-footed Lindelöf, with the ability to play fullback.

Apart from these two, I always liked Memphis and Mousa Dembele.

Andriy Shevchenko. Outside of Ronaldo I would say he's possibly the best striker of the modern era. Overshadowed by a few unfortunate years at Chelsea at the end.

Mesut Ozil.

Brilliant attacker. People were too obsessed with his lack of fight.

If I scored a goal Iike this on fifa, I'd be questioning game's mechanics...

My shout out goes to Łukasz Piszczek.
I love it. Remember seeing it on Football Italia on C4 back then. What a goal it is.

I actually meant to find this freekick too, better than Ronaldo's againt Portsmouth.

Recoba, probably my favorite player - what a fecking bullet of a left foot he had
Casemiro - very underrated and always steps up in the big games, good right foot as well
Hagi - probably better left foot than Recoba, brilliant
Kevin Kurányi - Had a few good seasons at Shalke, looked such a natural goalscorer
Mateja Kežman - Such a beast at PSV. Sadly joined Chelsea in 2004 and fell off a cliff

Luis Suarez. Everyone knows he was world class, but I legitimately believe he was the third best player in the world for the entire decade. His season is 2014 is the best season in Premier League history, and Henry is my favorite player ever ( weird for a United fan i know). Consistent drive and excellence diminished by the perfection of Messi and Ronaldo.

Mandzukic was a good player. Treble win with Bayern, did well for Juve too. Flopped a bit at Atletico if I remember correctly but there's no shame in that, it can happen.

Saviola - always loved watching him play.
Raul - would have been remembered as one of the greats if he was playing in the generation after his one.
Morientes - always in the shadow of Raul
Ljungberg - overshadowed by Henry, Pires etc. Was phenomenal.
Roy Keane - he was much more than a midfield hard man. People forget that.
Ortega - reminded me of an old school type of player.

Mount & Rice. A lot of fans, even England fans, think they’re garbage when they’re very good young players that are improving all the time. Mount is getting some respect now though.

There are probably others but I can only think of recent ones.

Edit: Danny Welbeck too. Think if he wasn’t so fragile he’d have had a very good career.

"Martial...He's isolated Skrtel here..."
Martial: this year he’s been horrific but in past years fans seemed to dislike him because he didn’t smile when he was always our most effective attacker. Always thought he’d bang in goals for a better attacking side. Obviously this year he’s lost all finishing ability

Benzema: now people are finally realizing how class this guy is but I always felt for years during the Ronaldo era that he was criminally underrated. A true all around striker that could do things other than just score goals which people are realizing more and more is vital to the modern game.

Both are class. While we are in these types of ‘full disclosure, say whatever you feel’ threads - I’d have Mount over Bruno personally. Slightly different styles of player, but I prefer the Mount type of midfielder.

Andy Cole probably my prime example. Absolutely quality player who could score all types of goals. Got done over by Hoddles (invented) comment about him only scoring 1 in 5 shots, even though a 20% strike rate is often seen as good. Hoddle had it in for him cos he was Teddy’s mate I think. Another misconception is that he was only good with Yorke; in fact Cole’s best season was 1997/8 when he came second in PFA player of the year. Anyway, Cole was class.

Climbing out of Cole’s arse now and another player I rated more highly than others was Van der Gouw, best backup goalie ever. Never made a mistake (in my mind).

Currently, I probably overrate Pogba. He is more important than Bruno. If Pogba had played like Bruno’s last 2 months, he’d be dropped.

Alessandro Del Piero.

Personally, I think he's one of the best players ever and this is one of the best goals ever scored.

He was also better at free kicks than Ronaldo, Messi, Pele, Cruyff and Maradona combined.

Was going to say him too. When people mention all time elevens and some of the best players, he barely gets mentioned but there was a period of 3/4 seasons where Del Piero and Brazilian Ronaldo were just head and shoulders above everybody else akin to Messi/Ronaldo now.

To come in as a youngster to replace Baggio the pressure was absolutely huge on him and he took to it like a duck to water, used to hate and love watching him against us in Europe. Only criticism I could level was he never really lit up the Italian jersey but what a fantastic player he was in his pomp, one of my favourites of all time.

Sebastiano Rossi - With all the stars in the Milan sides he kept goal for, he never got the credit he deserved for me. He was fantastic for Milan and personally I think one of the best keepers of all time, certainly one of the best nobody outside of Milan ever mentions as one of the best of all time. How he didnt have a big International career despite all the good Italian keepers at that time is beyond me, fantastic keeper

I'll throw a couple of our players out:
Javier Hernandez -- "all he can do is score"...never got that argument much
Antonio Valencia (while a right back - not winger) - I thought he was really tenacious in defense, and not a great crosser for headers, but he put some nice low zingers into the box often

Riquelme. World class player who was the most important player for Argentina for a brief period. I rate him higher than his actual ability but it’s because I loved watching him play.

Quaresma - never fulfilled his talent etc etc but what a joy to watch. Give me a YouTube video of Quaresma over 99% of other players
Quaresma was linked with us so much as a youngster I remember and seemed highly touted than Ronaldo, was talented but he just never fulfilled it for me despite some great moments.

Riquelme on the other hand, great shout. He was like Prince of Presia SAnd of Time haha, he just seemed to play at such a slow easy pace but nobody could ever get near him, manipulated the ball wonderfully, woul dhav eloved to hav eseen him in the premiership even when he was older

Jay Jay Okocha - A career at PSG (before the oil money), Fernebache and Bolton, with no disrespect as decent big sides.....but why he never played for any of the elite sides and certainly why none of the big premiership sides snapped him up, I cant understand. One of the best dribblers I have seen, a cut price Ronaldhino for me. Always one of if not the best player on the pitch for club and country, such a talented player and a real joy to watch

Schurrle (pre-illness). Was overlooked so much by Mourinho for Oscar and Willian but was definitely better than both of them. Always passionate and hardworking even when he had an off game.

Didn't you guys sell him in the winter transferwindow? Felt so random to me. He was doing very well!

I think with Italy. They style didn't suit him at times and he was sometimes played as an out and out winger. Also, he'll always be remembered for missing a few easy chances in the Euro 2000 final. I think that kind of goes against him when taking about his international career. But he scored a great breakaway goal in the semi final against Germany in 2006 and he's joint fourth all time top scorer alongside Baggio.

Dirk Kuyt, people say he’s dogshite and make fun of him, but he busted his balls constantly and scored a fair few goals for a nothing player.

Andres Iniesta, everyone says Xavi was the better player but Iniesta always stood out for me and scored important goals

Kaka, there’s a weird notion on this forum that Kaka was not that good but if you watched him at his best he was truly world class.
Iniesta was a big game player. During Spain’s World Cup win was the main man and scored the winning goal in the final.

Xavi is the best there has ever been at dictating a game and controlling the pace. He took the game away from the other team while Iniesta would often go and win it with a piece of magic. His dribbling was often overlooked because he played with Messi but he’s one of the best I’ve ever seen at manipulating the ball and drifting past people without tricks. Prime Hazard is the closest current player I can think of who just seems to walk past people.

Fellaini. Not world class but a really solid player for us. Treated poorly by the fans due to him being an icon of the Moyes era.

Smalling. When he first joined he looked like a really classy defender - the heir apparent to Rio. I am convinced that his decline as a ball-playing defender was purely down to confidence and instruction.
