Should football have more goals or less?

Thinking up of my next genius thread
A lot of people say football should have more goals to be more entertaining, but should it? What if we made the goals more like ice hockey goals?

A goalless game can be just as entertaining. I much prefer to see proper exciting passages of play than just goals with inept football.

A good game with nice goals will always be more entertaining than a goalless one.

Why should more goals equal inept football? I don't follow the logic there

More goals cant hurt. It seems over the past couple of years, everyone has been working to make it harder to score goals. Whether its VAR and its CSI approach to offside. Or the endless moaning about penalties and what should and shouldnt be a handball. No one seems to want more goals. I guess they with it will just be them that gets screwed over of something.

Eight goals, one on each side of the pitch and a secondary “backup goal” high in the stands behind each field-side goal so Ronaldo can score free kicks.

More goals definitely. Make the goalnet larger.

Handball is the way to go, if you want more goals. 1 hour games typically end up with somewhere between 40 and 60 goals.

We tried less goals with moyes, Lvg and Mourinho. Not a nice experiment.
let’s try something called “leave football alone”, where all the experts stop calling for change

Yeah and none of them feel important, individually. A football goal is usually (freak results aside) a very important event in a match and can even be a defining moment for a player's entire career.
The amount of goals is just right as it is. Changing it will make it a different sport.

Putting a goalkeeper height limit of 4 foot or under would make football more entertaining.

Yeah, fully agree. Handball goals only feel important towards the end of the match or maybe in very tight games with limited scoring. I do enjoy watching the Euro / World championship every winter, but that's about it. Would never watch a club game.

Obviously a 0-0 sucks, but overall I feel there's a satisfying amount of goals in football. Too many would make them feel less special, too few and it becomes boring. An average of 3-4 per game would be the sweet spot I think
